At :40 was plastic gun guy crying? Then notice how after he leaves the range officer gives the 15min warning. I smell black rifle snobbery. The M-16 is a perfectly serviceable weapon.....when you have a squad of armorers to help maintain it. And lots of spare parts. Will you have those resources if the SHTF?
Yeah, I agree. I've gone once and it's annoying. I'd rather shoot bottles and targets outside rather than a floating paper target. Plus you have tons of shells everywhere, no one ever pics up after themselves and it's hard to concentrate.
i swear i wont shoot this fuck any more it sounds like a cannon damn when i first fired that shit it surpised a whole bunch of people around me the backblow almost broke my arm
Many times when I'd go to the range just to have some fun renting a different gun, there would be a gun somewhere that was silent then goes off for the first time while I'm there and startles me something crazy. Heh, now that I own a Mosin I can safely say that I'm that guy with the small cannon. Love it though, lots of fun to shoot.
i love it how the Nagant silences the entire range when its fired, kinda reminds me of when some guy brought down a .44 magnum to our local range,it was so loud it drowned out my CZ75.some guns (like this beautiful piece from Soviet Russia) deserve the title Range-Silencer
@JimBoopLoop True for most rifles, but the MN is not a free float barrel config (2 metal rings holding the stock to the barrel/receiver), plus the sling attachment is welded on to it. These were originally sighted in with the bayonet on and extended, so removing it will actually affect your POI negatively, and redoing the irons on it can be a PITA. (Learned the hardway putting my buddy's M44 in a ATI Monte Carlo stock)
@JimBoopLoop You have it backwards, the rifle was always initially sighted in with the bayonet extended. It actually has a different point of aim with it collapsed because of the change in barrel harmonics so I wouldn't say "Less Accurate" as much as out of adjustment.
@sirtophamhatsaccount, what arsernal and year M44? like wise how much you give? Im still looking to add a M-44 to my collection but every time I find one its close to $500 for a worn out piece of junk that is more adapt to being a collectible wall hanger over a historical shooter like I collect.
@Milner62 - I got lucky I guess, I found my M-44 after 1 day of looking in 9 different pawn shops. $129 and reduced to $119 because I know the lady. Beautiful rifling, very accurate, and in good shape. Look around my friend they are out their waiting to be discovered and saved.
@comissairevanloc He's shooting with the bayonet attached because Mosin Nagants were factory-sighted with the bayonet attached. If you shoot without the bayonet, your shot will hit off-center from where you aim. The M38 doesn't have this "problem", as it was never meant to use a bayonet.
Haha. When i first got my Mosin, i think I was 15... I went out to the range with my dad. First shot went.... *breathe in, out, in, ou- BLAM!....... "FUUUCCKKK!' I love my Mosin though. lol
pop, pop, pop, pop BOOOM!!!! it makes the AR15 next to you sound like a .22,i own a mosin m44 (soviet original) and its a wonderful rifle,im so glad i got mine when i did,as the prices are rising.and they are becoming scarcer by the day.
@MrFlashbang12 The M44 and M38 are going to have more felt recoil than the 91/30 and the 91/30 is going to be more accurate than the M38 or the M44. The, only difference is that the M38 lacks a bayonet, which is stupid in my opinion, as a military rifle isn't a military rifle without a bayonet... When your debating over a 91/30 and a M44, the main three differences is going to be, length, accuracy, and felt recoil. I would go with a 91/30 myself, but it doesn't matter you will get a M44 later :D
I know this thing has some kick but why is he using a towel on his shoulder? What a girl. I got a bruise from mine and couldn't stop showing it off. When the non-business end of a rifle inflicts injury you know you got a man's gun.
@redbaron011 If you were up against 10 guys with ARs would you still be using a Mosin Nagant against them? I'll bet you would choose something with a bit more firepower at it's disposal. Just sayin,...
@Redbaron011 i'll agree with you and risk being flamed by one of them gas rifles. i have a M38, an M44 and an original 91/30. All in prime condition. The M38 is an everyday shooter, if you can believe that. I'm able to shoot a gong at 380 yards consistently with the M38 and iron sights. Standing.
i shot my first mosin nagant m44 the othe day i was not expecting the recoil, my only other rifle experience was shooting m-16s, i think the sights suck but the rifle is awesome. I made the mistake of forgetting to put my ear plugs back in when my cousin fired, boy its pretty loud. lol
They are loud!!! Try fireing them with NATO rounds if ya can get them. LOL 3 times as loud and twice the kick. I weighed 350'lbs first time I shot mine and it damned near knocked me over. LOL"Leeeeannnn into it".50 rounds equaled black and numb shoulder
Have one with all serial numbers matching that was un-issued. I love this gun! It is the most accurate riffle I have ever shot. No doubt 300 yards playing card shot. No problem.
Each time at the range I notice someone will have a rifle that is SO loud I jump the first time I hear it when not paying attention. I now own a Mosin '33 Hex...now I'm that guy shooting the loud gun! Love the video, the Mosin sounds like a BEAST. Just imagine what Nazies were thinking about 70 years ago when they heard thousands of these being shot at them...
@cdkennedy1207 Okay, no offense but I'm well versed on the Mosin Nagant. The German bolt action rifle was the Karabiner 98k. The Mosin Nagant was created by Captain Sergei Mosin and Leon Nagant for Russia in 1891. Really, if you owned one you'd know - they are stamped with the Soviet Hammer and Sickle and have Cryllic writing stamped on them. The Russians fought the Germans on the Eastern front (and caused the largest casualties to Germany) with this very rifle.
you need a muzzle brake and rubber butt pad, a towel is gay. man up or get those accessories. the mosin is cooler with a muzzle bake anyways. Made my 91/30 feel like a.22 but sound like a .50 BMG!
ya the AR-15 sounds like a cracker jack toy and of course the mosin sounds like a BA gun i just recently bought one but did not have a chance to shoot it yet i also have an AR-15 but i am selling it i dont like the style of the gun
i got mine from big five about a year ago and i haven't even fired it . im scared it might blow up they say that they are unferbished the bolt it tight lot to loose what do you think
The M44 bayonet extended or folded affects the POI.
If folded, it will shift POI to the side, if its deployed, it will often shift the POI back to the center so that you as the shooter won't have bullet strikes a few inches off the side of POA.
This pertains to the M44, not every rifle. Never said, EVERY DAMNED RIFLE WILL SHOOT BETTER WITH THE BAYO ATTACHED
M44 hitting inches to the side, then putting the bayo out & hitting center = increased M44 accuracy
@MHbushmaster agreed. and also... prettyvacant... the bayonet on the m44 is made with the bayonet. the bayonet folds out on the m44. mt grandpap brought one back from 'Nam as a war trophy.
Son, you need to learn. Start with "Barrel harmonics".
The bayonet is attached to the barrel on the M44 & extends out past the muzzle. Now when the bullet leaves the muzzle the expelled gases travel out & away from the muzzle, when they reach an obstruction they often cause a disturbance in the wake of the bullet changing the POI. The M44 barrel having the lug locking socket attached to the muzzle effects the sim wave of the barrel while the bullet is still in the barrel.
I got 2 of these, bought at gunshow in PA in the 90's. Brand new in original cosmo - never issued! The 7.62x54R round uses a very slow powder since it is designed for the long barrel sniper rifle. When fired from short barrel carbine creates awesome muzzle blast - makes fun to shoot. They are quite accurate too.
To the extent they were sighted, it was most likely with bayonet extended. But with any USSR Mosin (as opposed to Finns) it's safe to assume they were never sighted properly at all. Just start fresh with a brass punch and kroil and adjust windage as needed for your best shooting load. Bayonet out or in at your option.
The M44 is calibrated for the bayonet to be extended in order for the POI (point of impact) to correlate to the POA (point of aim).
In other words, if the bayonet were not extended, the bullets would be striking about 4" to the left at 100 meters, 2" left at 50 meters, and 1" left at 25 meters, etc.
@MHbushmaster THIS IS INCORRECT. THEY ARE NOT SITED ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER WITH THE BAYONET EXTENDED. YOUR WRONG AND RETARDED. PLEASE MOVE OUT OF YOUR MOMS BASEMENTS.
@smachnick So I'm wrong, lol, no boy, you are incorrect. The M44, per Soviet policy during WWII was for a bayonet to be extended during the entire duration that it was at the front.
I have a lovely wife and two kids, it sounds like you need to bone up on your C&R info as well as get a fucking life.
I am correct, check any reputable C&R forum.
I've been collecting C&R rifles for many years now and if I don't know something I readily admit it: you are a misinformed douche bag
lighter gun= heavier perceived recoil. the m44 and m38 have the same barrel length, so that's negligible. my m38 is also lighter because of the wood the stock is made off. the m44 has a bayonet which adds a little weight; so for me the m38 recoils a tad more than my m44. when doing comparisons, use same type of ammo- Your results may vary-
God that sound is amazing. I love the M44! Was shooting mine at a range and people from other stalls started coming over and seeing what in the hell was going on, it was awesome. Take the towel off your shoulder and experience the true majesty of these rifles! If you don't have a bruise you're not doing it right :D
@UrbanTiger74 Its mother russia! Damn that thing is a beast. Cant wait to get one, but cant have it until my 91/30 sniper reproduction project is done. Two thumbs up!
what a fairy!! my M44 doesnt kick me hard, been deer hunting with it for years (with the bayonet removed of course) makes the biggest BOOM in the woods everyone says :)
I have an M38, and it's a beast of a rifle. My shoulder was sore for two damn days. An old Marine was next to me and he wouldn't even come near my rifle, it was pretty funny. Would hate to get shot by one of these monsters, lol.
so you like the shoulder cannon huh???? the first time i shot my m44 though i had a RPG on my shoulder...remember windex for cleaning...

You have an appropriate screen name for how you act.
Reading and knowing history is fundamental to understanding mil surp rifles.
Prettyvacant is pretty vacant. LOL. Vacant of substance in between his q-tip holes.
MHbushmaster 1 year ago
@prettyvacant2007 The guns always had the bayonet out. They were only retracted while not in use or when the soldier was in a vehicle.

The Mosin's sound is epic.

FractAlkemist 1 year ago
To the extent they were sighted, it was most likely with bayonet extended. But with any USSR Mosin (as opposed to Finns) it's safe to assume they were never sighted properly at all. Just start fresh with a brass punch and kroil and adjust windage as needed for your best shooting load. Bayonet out or in at your option.

put the bayonet away
smachnick 2 years ago
he has to have it on or it will stab him
Superninjasam 2 years ago
The M44 is calibrated for the bayonet to be extended in order for the POI (point of impact) to correlate to the POA (point of aim).
In other words, if the bayonet were not extended, the bullets would be striking about 4" to the left at 100 meters, 2" left at 50 meters, and 1" left at 25 meters, etc.
MHbushmaster 2 years ago
@MHbushmaster THIS IS INCORRECT. THEY ARE NOT SITED ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER WITH THE BAYONET EXTENDED. YOUR WRONG AND RETARDED. PLEASE MOVE OUT OF YOUR MOMS BASEMENTS.
smachnick 2 years ago
@smachnick So I'm wrong, lol, no boy, you are incorrect. The M44, per Soviet policy during WWII was for a bayonet to be extended during the entire duration that it was at the front.
I have a lovely wife and two kids, it sounds like you need to bone up on your C&R info as well as get a fucking life.
I am correct, check any reputable C&R forum.
I've been collecting C&R rifles for many years now and if I don't know something I readily admit it: you are a misinformed douche bag
MHbushmaster 2 years ago
@smachnick Sorry, can't do it. M44's were sighted in their respective arsenals WITH THE BAYONET IN.
:D
purpleravenstar 2 years ago
@purpleravenstar ONCE AGAIN YOUR WRONG. THEY WERE NOT SITED WITH BAYONETS INPLACE.
smachnick 2 years ago
@smachnick The guns were sighted with the bayonet extended. You take it off and it changes the barrel harmonics and throws the shot off.

I shot a 91/30 and a m38 a few times, is the recoil m44 the same as the m38?
DrumHeadz83 2 years ago
No, M44 has a little more recoil.
CrudeOctane 2 years ago
lighter gun= heavier perceived recoil. the m44 and m38 have the same barrel length, so that's negligible. my m38 is also lighter because of the wood the stock is made off. the m44 has a bayonet which adds a little weight; so for me the m38 recoils a tad more than my m44. when doing comparisons, use same type of ammo- Your results may vary-

Haha, I love this rifle. It's awesome how stunned the other people at the range are when they hear it for the first time. :D

God that sound is amazing. I love the M44! Was shooting mine at a range and people from other stalls started coming over and seeing what in the hell was going on, it was awesome. Take the towel off your shoulder and experience the true majesty of these rifles! If you don't have a bruise you're not doing it right :D

I have an M38, and it's a beast of a rifle. My shoulder was sore for two damn days. An old Marine was next to me and he wouldn't even come near my rifle, it was pretty funny. Would hate to get shot by one of these monsters, lol.

The recoil of the Mosin is used to relocate shoulders thrown out of joint by previous shots.
lol. Team Mosin!
