This was a VERY helpful video. We don't have enough Dominican salons out here (Los Angeles). Anyway, I'm not too hip on any of these products except La Bomba and Silicon Mix Bamboo. New to the idea of putting honey in my conditioners too...hmmm. Thanks!
Yeah, Lacio Lacio is one of my staple leave-ins that is a mystery to me. Don't know WHY it works but it does!! ( My hair is mostly 4b, porous and fine). I buy it three bottles at a time. Also like Silicon Mix with Bambu, and Baba de Caracol.
@cheathamk ooh darn you gonna make me try the baba de caracol leave in now!! girl i dont know HOW or WHY that lacio lacio works but omg! it never fails ;) see and a 4b? girl im gonna preach cause folks tell me well you got THAT hair type... lol
@richeau duh no i was wrong. lol i just could not remember the name but i remembered the picture. I got bamboo mixed up with aloe. it looks like aloe on the jar. anyhow, my local GEM those things are all lined up in a row cecelo pelo, silicon mix including the perla one. i should have taken a picture.
Thanks so much for this review! Since I've bc'd, I've been making my own dc's, but sometimes ya just don't feel like it. I've been trying to find some good, thick dc's lately that I can just open up & scoop on this head. Tried the crèce pelo and was sold! The detangling & softness...loving it!
So would you say the Crece Pelo is a mosturizing conditioner and Baba de Caracol is a protein one? I was wondering what would happen if I used Crece Pelo after an ayurvedic mix with Kapur Kachli....
Hey Richeau I'm Dominican and GIRL let me tell you those conditioners they sell out here are nothing compared to the ones I get back home in DR its the same exact conditioners but manufactured over there its a huge difference it doesn't even compare !OH YEA and I'm 7 months natural :)
@MusicIsMiAlma girl I freaking believe it!!! I wish I could try the stuff right from there. I should ask one of my girls when they go back home to bring me something hehe
Ok see what you did, LOL. I ordered the CreCe Pelo Natural Conditioner from Amazon because you told me I had to order it, LOL. It arrived today and I'm doing a patch test right now to the back of my hair. My hair was trippin for about 2 weeks so I hope this will help or else I'm gonna have to wait for KBB LLHM and my QB AOHC to kick in and recover my hair to whatever hurt it
@richeau omG! I just sat down and watched this video. Thanks for doing these reviews because I have been so hesitant to try Dominican conditioners because it seemed like all the ones I heard of ppl raving about were full of mineral oil, silicones and other synthetic ingredients. I was only partly right. I want to go buy the Crece Pelo, Bamba de Caracol or the Universal Bomba with Avocado Cream, but I can't find them in my area :( Has anyone ordered them successfully online from a legit site?
girl.. went to get me some spanish foos and bought the Crece Pello.. Cant WAIT to try it... it looks very thick.. and thats what my hair needs.. so yea.. i will let u know what the outcome is.
im sad....the wen cleanser and the leave in mist isnt a WOW factor...well..must be the hawaii weather and the water...too soft...LOL..but seriously speaking the cleanser didnt make my hair manageable and the mist nothing...just left fragrance on my hair...that pom leave in mist didnt moisturize...but i like it as a facial toner...its great for a face spray...now that was good!!!!
hey richeau...well i tried the wen cleanser...your right nothing to wow about...i tried the Pomegranate cleanser and mist...the mist did nothing but just scent up my hair temporarily...and my hair wasnt very manageable with this one...so now im hoping that creco pelo dominican line will change all that!! love ya marty
aloha richeau...guess what...i just got my WEN pomegranate cleanser 16oz and the Pomegranate leave in treatment mist...OMG....Smells sooooooo wonderful mild sweet...and i love the leave in mist Pomegranate...my face feels very lightly moisturized with no oily shine...and its super awesome on my hair as well...i will be trying my wen tonight....say...did you try any of the shampoo and rinse of that creco pelo??? hugs marty
do you have any asian or Phillipine stores near you? i super love the phillipine shampoos 2 in 1's..plus they moisture my hair well...and smells all sweet scent!!
wonderful video reviews richeau...i tried the pearl silicon mix...I for me didnt like it..it made my hair feel straw...so..im game to trying something else new!!!
Silicon Mix De Perla is my go to #1 rinse out condish. Nothing can touch what it does for my hair. On my roots, I love Henna Queen's Garlic condish; but it smells like straight garlic! LOL Silicons rule. My hair loves silicones! I go nuts in the Latina beauty supply. the list goes on and on. They helped me grow from APL to BSL I'll never get enough of the DR condishes.
@richeau Works better than I expected. I don't have much shedding, so my feelings wouldn't have been hurt if it was just okay. BUT I lost half the hair I normally lose on that wash. My jaw dropped and I was sold on the 1st use. The hair loss increases to normal eventually so for me the results are instant and taper off. Also I agree with that I have read; the garlic strengthens the root ball. Not expensive and works? I'm their girl! Take care and VIVA the DR!
I really wish I was back home & able to find the CrecePelo. :( I think I'm just going to make life easier & order it on eBay. *sigh* Thanks so much for doing this vid. I have been eagerly waiting for it, b/c I can't give KBB another $25 for an 8oz jar of deep condish.
I have some of those in my stash and I still have not used them....I have used the silicon mix..pearl..and I really liked it..thanks for this video..lots of info!
I LOVE Ms.Keys products! I use the Creme Negra its thick black cream and its a great conditioner! Thanks for the reviews, u want to try the silicone mix soon ...
I never looked for a Dominican conditioner but since I'm thinking about having a straight hair style for my birthday I want to make sure I use the right products to prep my hair before adding heat. I head you say in the video that some of those conditioners are useful for straightening your hair. So I think I may try it.
@BelTriniCurls Ooh I'll offer my two cents: do a protein treatment, then a moisturizing treatment. The Lacio Lacio is the BOMB for straightening but it's mostly just silicones and silk protein. In conjunction you can use redken anti snap as a leave in and your hair will be soooo soft
Loves it when I see one of your vids in my queue. I get my lil cup of tea and it feels like I'm listening to a good friend of mine giving me the scoop on some good hair stuff. LOL None of my friends IRL get this excited about hair stuff so know you have a "friend" over here in the Bay. :)
I have Lacio Lacio brought to me from the D.R. when my relatives come to visit me in the U.S. JUST Today, I discovered my local bss sells the products (crazy expensive compared to in the DR). The fact that this review comes after my discovery is a crazy coincidence :). I'm about to get my dominican tratamientos on! Thanks for the reviews!!

I used the Dominican conditioners when I first started (because that was all I used when I had relaxed hair, lol). I used the Universal La Bomba rinse out conditioner and deep conditioner for months and it was great.
@aran08504 I've done puffs when my hair was shorter not really now cause I don't have time to do my hair. Would you believe I don't moisturize daily?? lol!! I kid you not, like I said I'd styled my hair using the generic paul mitchell the conditioner and castor oil on top and that was last week and up until today my hair was STILL soft and moist. I might oil my ends a little bit but that's about it.
You and these damn products. Somebody needs to sponsor you lol. You kept mentioning silicones.....are silicones bad? I personally like silicone based products for my hair when its flat ironed because it gives it a nice shine and leaves it soft. Guess everyone's hair is different.
@xoxtamisha If the silicones work for your hair then go for it. Everyone can't take it but I want folks to know what's in stuff either way. I personally like them when I first flat iron, or in the summer when I'm doing wash and goes some silicones help detangle and keep my frizz down so I use them accordingly ;)
@xoxtamisha Silicones aren't inherently bad. They block moisture so that your style lasts longer. I personally don't like to use them, because I wash my hair a lot and need my products to wash out easily. But if it works for you, then by all means! ;)
