Im Beja from southern egypt and my family are in Egypt and Sudan i was born in Qena. My Beja friends from Eritrea claim that Ababda and Bisharin are not Beja but i dont see the difference between Hadendewa,Hallenga,Amarar,Shukuria,Beni Amer,Hamran, and Bisharin
I believe the person being interviewed is correct. My line of Ababda came into northern Egypt to dig the Suez Canal and settled in Ismailia. The Ababda and other Se3edees that came to the North brought much with them including Simsimeya Music which is similar to the Ababda and Beja style.

They are Beja, but have mixed with Arabs more than the other tribes.
Some Abada are even full Arab.

These people come from many areas of "Upper Egypt" including Kom Ombo, Karm-El-Deeb, Qena, Nag-El-Ababda etc. And most likely various areas in Sudan.
