  • These guys are great ( Awesome ) they have gone home to glory but a millions of people are being blessed through their wonderful music..

  • Haha, this is hilarious. What a bass voice! I prefer the more gospel version to this country style... but this is still great. the choir sounds good. And just look at that hair! Hahahahaha.

  • This is such a fun song, you can just tell how much they are enjoying singing it, but it really comes alive when Vestal joins the "boys"! It's just not the same with out all these wonderful singers! They are missed.

  • My fav bass singer is so JD Sumner! he had the lowest note ever made by a human being. If you want an example of it watch?v=YyU1ISgMcfs. It is so cool

  • Actually, I heard about a bass singer from a group in Tennessee (I think) had broken J.D.'s record.

  • darn

  • The Gaither Homecoming gang did this song last Saturday night here in Cleveland, Ohio. It featured Tim Duncan on bass from Signature Sound, but they kept showing this clip of Jake and George too singing it also.

  • I really love this song. I'm not a christian, nor a huge gospelfan, but this I really like.

Could anyone recommend me some artists/songs like this? I prefer mr Younce, of these two.

Oh, and could anyone tell me when this was recorded?

  • Signature Sound is good, J.D Sumner and the Stamps have an amazing bass if you like that but the Inspirations are the best they have a good message to tell. And remember the Lord died for you

  • This was recorded in 2000 in Memphis, TN. The Gaither Vocal Band and Ernie Haase and Signature Sound are the closest groups to this sound.

  • Mr .Rex Nelon is so good to me!:)

  • The Cathedrals is the group George Younce sang with. They have some stuff on iTunes.

  • George Younce is unbelievable. He is singing so at ease it makes other bass singers look like amateurs. I miss him. I wish that a new bass singer will emerge that will remind me of him. I am sick and tired of these new bass singers...they are just pretenders. And the good ones like Gene McDonald don't sing...does anybody know why Gene is not singing anymore...

  • Thats so true

I love the old bass singers

Rex Nelon ,George Younce , Brock Speer ect

I wish that they were still here!

  • this will scare ny baptist but i love it

  • Gene McDonald Reminds me of a young Big Chief.

  • statesmenfan you are quite right. What is Gene doing now? so many of the quartets don't come to Ontario any more!

  • this song is so great but what vidoe is this off of? thank you

  • Thank you for this song, I love how all the singers look so happy while they're singing.

  • It's amazing the appeal of this song--my 3 year old loves to sing this as we travel in the car.

God bless the memory of these great men.

  • thats very cool, not many like this kind of music anymore. i'm 18 and can't get enough, keep your child in on this!

  • Keep it up. I love this type of music, listen and sing it whenever possible.

I've wanted to get a group going for years, but nobody around here really likes it.

  • Wonderful

  • Fantastic!

  • Jake Hess was the favorite gospel singer of Elvis, he used to go to Ellis Auitorium in downtown Memphis to hear him, and he juste loved him.

  • Great song
