iPad NOT CHARGING Battery Problem Fix - iOS Vlog 130

I have the 64g Ipad 1 3g and this didn't happen until later after I had it for about 3 months? its frustrating because, yes you can charge it over night but it shouldn't take 12hrs to charge. I do love apple but this is driving me crazy. I don't think you are all those foul things some of the people are posting but if you are going to post a video it should have a solution, not "you just have to wait longer for it to charge". my next step is going to an apple to check their charger.

My problem is its just not charging. I have a 3 month old Mac. When I plug it into there it doesn't even tell me its charging or anything (usually its completely dead) I've tried all of the pluggy things in the back of the mac but none of them are working with my iPad. Then I got out the wall socket plug and plugged it in there. I tried both sockets and nothing. But I used the same plug/wire thingy with my iPhone and it worked just fine. Help me?

Any suggestions for my issue: If I use a wall charger and plug in the ipad end in last, I can get a charge...but only after trying it a few times.

If I plug in the ipod end first I get nothing...ever.

When I try to sync I get nothing ever. I can plug the ipad end in last, just like with the wall charger, and I get nothing. It doesn't matter how many times I try.

I have tried a new cable.

Everywhere I look for solutions to the "not charging" problem, they say to use the supplied power adapter. Mine has the "not charging" message and all I use is the supplied adapter.

Also posted on Apple support , support.apple.com/kb/HT4060 The from standard 5v usb (like most of us got for wall chargers with out unit), it wont take in enough charge to accommodate ANY usage. Turn it off while it charges, that will make help.

Otherwise invest in a 10V adapter. Lord knows for the low low price of $500 apple couldn't afford to include a $10 adapter.

I briefly tried using my old iphone adapter to charge and it said 'not charging' so i thought i better not use that and switched back to my ipad adapter but it still says 'not charging' and takes a long time to charge. I dont get it, does that mean it cant actually have anything to do with what adapter you use?

do u know the problem with the jailbroken ipod touch 4g? when u connect it to the adapter, it doesnt show that it is charging but it actually is. please help me! it annoys me so much and its been happening for a while now. you have to respring everytime you want to see your current battery. it never changes without a respring. only when it is off the charger, the battery descends.

i was confuse when the ipad said it was not charging and ipod would normally charge when it was plugged into the computer. i didn't know anything about the not charging thing cuz i only have my ipad for 2 days but, wihile he was speaking i checked my ipad to see if it was charging and it was. it was 3% and now it is 12% but ,it is charging at a very slow rate. I think when it is turned off it charges a little faster

1. Finger settings-general-reset-reset all settings.

2. If it works thumb-up (i never ask for this, but i think it can be useful in this case)

3. If it doesn't work thumb-down (as above i never ask for this :)

FYI

This happens, because the iPad needs 10w of power to charge. A high powered USB port can provide this, but most USB ports can only offer about 5w of power to a device, hence why the iPad is "not charging" - it is only getting enough power to run, or to charge slowly if its not in use.

Some 3rd party wall chargers can provide 10w, but once again, only good ones. I have some cheap wall adapters that only do 5w, which is fine for my HTC Desire and iPods, but not for the iPad.

this issue still occurs even with the ipad 2, it normally only says charging when using the power adpater that plugs into an outlet. While any USB port is connected it always says not charging. If the screen does stay off within 15- 25 mins the charge can go up 2-4 %. it is very slow charge, Apple recommends the power adapter as a charger. Theyre well aware of this, and probably wont address this as a huge issue since they intend for the power adapter to be the main source of charger.

Thank you so much, I came back and I couldn't find the iPad charger. I needed it for a meeting the next morning but had to charge it. I got really pissed off when I saw the "Not Charging" message! Thanks to your video I charged my iPad overnight and got the meeting nailed :)

@iKriptic It's not a problem nor do you fix it. The ipad will only charge in sleep mode when plugged in to a pc. When USB comes out for pc it will charge while connected and not only in sleep mode.

Before it would say "Not Charging" when I plugged it into my PC but now it's working like a dream :).
