Clear things up, the deal was table gets accepted to stanford and graduate, his parents would agree to him becoming a singer. His parents thought whatever he did was good but in life you need education for people to not look down on u, but still uneducated people look down on him for being educated and rapping , fuckin haters
not DEEP but REAL. Like what Tablo said, you don't need college to know the reality of life and corruption. You just need to be real and open minded...the corruption is smack in our faces, you choose to pic up the devils whispers and follow along. Just try and follow your track and stay level headed and be real.
and now im talking philosophy? pfft >_> im just talking real that's all
i see a lot of ppl saying how this song is very meaningful and deep, and altho i agree, i don't think that's what makes the song so amazing. In fact, the whole theme of corrupt society and decadence of youth is all but cliche; i think the beauty of this track has more to do with how strongly tablo depicts that theme, the art of words used to display that theme, and the music that accompanies the mood so flawlessly. Well, at least that's what i thought x]
this is what i love....for example: epik high made alot of rly commercial songs wich where played by radio stations in south corea over and over. but they never forgot their underground roots. still kickin it
@Sweetheart4891 He didnt wanted to go to stanford. Its his parents that forced him to go there. He said he doesnt think that he's a better writer because he went to stanford. Stanford has nothing to do with his talent.
okay I discovered this song, when someone used some of the lyrics in a fanfic I was reading. I am glad I did, cause wow. awesome song, I must check out more fo their stuff
He's talking about the corruption in the world, and how it goes on every day. How sometimes what we think is love isn't necessarily love, and it hurts when you find out it wasn't. I interpret it as a song about the criminal world and broken hearts.
All causes and all effects. No college shit necessary to acknowledge it. Some call it love and some call it sex. opposites. Call it what you want, but with one touch and youre gone, so call in sick. Human politics, from whispered hushes and distant crushes. Mental fits breakin pencil tips and inkin brushes. Simple rushes. God makes man, and this is the devils finishing touches. From dukes to duchesses and kings to queens. From dust to dust, this is the sinful theme. The scene for crack fiend
''Human politics, from whispered hushes and distant crushes. Mental fits breakin pencil tips and inkin brushes. God makes man, and this is the devils finishing touches.''
Well think about it. Most of Epik High's song have to do with society.
"Mental fits, breakin pencil tips and inkin brushes", to me, sounds like the everyday stress people go through.
"The scene for crack fiends* and gun packin teens | High on vaccines, magazines, and saccharine", once again to me, accurately depicts teens in this day and age.
oh. yeah. i liked this intro though it was long but usually I hate long intros. I'm surprised at myself. I htink maybe because it sounds so inspirational. :)

Tablo's lyrics and beats never dissapoint, but the music is kinda dragged out, and there are only lyrics for a short amount of the whole song. overall its kinda boring and feels like it'll never end. Not epik high's best but its still pretty good XD
I agree. Especially with the intro being 1:20 minutes long, it's really dragged out and starts getting annoying after a while. If they cut it down to maybe only 30 seconds, it would be better. But their lyrics make up for it.
Usually I'm *too* impatient to listen to a song's instrumentals for minutes, waiting for the singing, but Epik High makes me actually want to listen this time.
i think, correct me if i'm wrong, but tablo was born in korea and he moved to canada and then went back to korea and he went to stanford? lol something like that.
yeah it was something like that. he went back to korea as an international student and then went to stanford which explains why he is fluent in english.
the butterfly effect is the name of this song and it also means a sensitive dependence on initial conditions(scientific terms)
also is meant for mental terms, so it's like depending on where you are and the enviroment, it changes how you do things (love)
so he rhymes about how drugs and meaningless sex can be caused by the butterfly effect and i would guess that yell of LOVESCREAM/besides album name/is like the break or pause in the butterfly effect
it's really a gift from the mothers of tablo, mithra, and tukut(he says he doesn't like the s @ the end of his stage name)..... i mean their sons are able to create and express everything on paper and voice from their life exp.
we need more groups like epik high in the U.S. i mean seriously some of the rap here in america has no meaning.... also this song reminds me of eminem for some reason, cuz i think of eminem as one of the greatest geniouses here in usa.
Eminem IS a genuis. Tablo's idol is Eminem himself. Eminem could take you anywhere with his lyrics and he knew how to use the english language to it's potentiol. From silly songs to deep meanigful, controversial song, he did it all. Tablo plays with the english, and seems like he twists the words into something anew. Epik High seems more serious but at the same time a bit pop, but Eminem is more controversial and silly as well. They're both different, but at the same time they share a uniqeness.
You didn't mention that tablo does become controversial at times to if you consider songs like scapegoat
but i see what you mean by the fact they are both talented and gifted but at the same time that have something that makes them different and therefore intriguing
I COULDNT AGREE WITH YOU MORE. (& thats coming from a hard-core vip) lol. but no, epik high mean so much to me as well. tablo-firstly, whoever said he aint hot-is sure blind. no need to even bother with them. secondly, the depth of their songs is simply ashtonishing. i always feel like i connect with them via their songs. the messages and subject matter is ALWAYS-powerfully delievered. take, 'breakdown' have u read the lyric translations?-simply MAGNIFICENT! now u try and compare that to others!
ohh yeah, this song-is it good u may ask? well i think it is as well. which is why im not gonna sleep until i find the mp3 download link from somewhere. i gotta have it. epik high are brilliant. Am glad that u weighed them up against big bang. i would feel so joyful if in 5+ years time big bang would mature to epih high's level. that would just make them so well-rounded.
