These are badass. I just finished rebuilding the 5.0 in my Mustang (mild rebuild, basically a freshen-up with a cam) and I came across a blacked-out 300 SRT8 (black car, black wheels, black tail lights, etc.) 2 nights ago that looked really awesome and had aftermarket exhaust and we did a couple of 40-70 mph-ish pulls down Happy Valley and I actually stayed right next to him every time. I have a good enough setup to be able to hang but I was still shocked because I know how fast these are!
that's about the cheapest anywhere around now, I haven't seen anywhere at lower than 115.9 this week but petrol is still bumping along at 104.9p (base price obviously-many places are worse)
haha I did see a novelty in Kent the other day though- a petrol station selling four star...at 140p/l!
I drive a Mitsubishi L200 and that's a 2.5l diesel...it averages about 20mpg also
my father has a Range Rover Supercharged and a Morgan Aero 8...he's going to be stinging...the Range Rover averages 15mpg or so but it's easy to keep it at about 10mpg and the Morgan is roughly the same...which Audi do you have?my mother has a Q7 3.0 TDI which averages 30mpg or so
ok I'll try and work out how I can afford the petrol for a 300C SRT 8
according to Mitsubishi I should get 32mpg but I get about 20. that's a 37.5% difference. If the Chrysler's claimed consumption has the same difference then apparently I should get 12.625mpg....so I'll need to save roughly 40% extra for fuel and then there's purchase and insurance to take into account....right
short story...had it since March 1st 2002 after waiting on the waiting list since about 1991
02 plate...done 6500 miles!!
and, interestingly I think he's accepting reasonable offers now if you think it's lovely lmao
as you can see he never drives it-he's got a bad back and had a hernia and so on so he only really drives the Range Rover, my car (occasionally) and my mothers car

autos are no way quicker than a good manual and clutch-assuming a competent driver of course
and another reason would be for those of us who simply enjoy to shift gears ourself
iainthornton 3 years ago
guys it's not possible to get a 300C or a Charger with a stick shift is it?
iainthornton 3 years ago
LOL more like $11 or $12

I have an Audi and a Ford!
True, alot of european owned cars are more refined, the americans have it the opposite way, raw power!
But neither are as powerful as the SRT8, and neither can cruse as 175mph!
And yes we are being ripped to shreds with the fuel costs, mainly by the Government who take nearly 70% of that!!!
lightninfast 3 years ago
I So wish i had this car, shame that the fuel costs in the Uk are something near $10/Gallon!!!!!
We do have the 3L V6 Diesel, which is cheaper to run, but no where near as good sounding!
lightninfast 4 years ago
yeah if you're gonna have a 300 you just can't get the CRD, it's a sin
offset it against how much cheaper it is than an M5, and how much better the gearbox is :D
iainthornton 3 years ago
LOL!! Yes, if only i had £50k to start with!!!
lightninfast 3 years ago
yeah you're right, I was just talking relative to M5s and RS6s and stuff
petrol and diesel are just ridiculous over here-you're right
and car tax as well
and London congestion charge
and M6 toll and things
I don't know why I don't just go to the US, my pounds sterling would make a lot of dollars!
iainthornton 3 years ago
Yes, i've just filled up my tank, £60 later @ 114.9p!!
And i've just been on the M6 toll, i quite like that road, simply because its classed as a private road, so no speed cameras ;)
See, all these rises wont affect me that much, its people that are on a bare min wage that will be driven off the road!
lightninfast 3 years ago
I guess you must be diesel then at 114.9p/l?
or you got ripped off lol

Yes it was my Ford, thats a 2L TDCI
and to think that 76pence of that is TAX!
140P!!!! They think petrol could reach 1.50p this summer!
The Audi is a 3L V6 and thats costing me a bit too! especially when my average is 20mpg!
lightninfast 3 years ago
OUCH...good god £1.50 will HURT
