I take back my earlier criticism of OMD for having lost their muse. The album History of Modern is not necessarily their best but still contains some very good songs. The trademark OMD sound is intact, with hooks galore throughout. The next album might secure the comeback if only they can recreate something on a par with some of the earlier hits or even as strong as the 1996 swansong 'Walking on the Milky Way'. Not sure about some of the synth sounds, but a welcome return nonetheless.

OMD were my favourite band for many years and I still think much of what they did is brilliant. But this is poor, quality control has gone out of the window. It is a re-hash of the Liberator sound, pleasant enough in 1993 but not earth shattering. It pains me to say it but it is hard to see the point of this song. I am not an OMD fan who harks back to obscure tracks from the first album, but the band who wrote great pop have lost their muse. Sorry to say.

Good to see Andy and Paul working together again. I like the sound of this sound. Not a fan per se of the video. A bit too, I don't know, artsy for my tastes. But the song is a good balance between what drew me to OMD in the first place and what made me stay with them through the years, including the ability to stay current without losing themselves.
