I saw PDP at the Tivoli in Downers Grove last year with my dad. I'd still consider myself a kid at 22, but of course my dad took me to a bunch of shows when I was little. I remember dancing and watching the House-o-Matics at the Aragon back in the 90s.
Why this band isn't band isn't huge across the country on a par with Dave Matthews Band or other talent-rich eclectic bands like them is a mystery to me.
Frank, where can I find a copy of that show you did at The Vic that was simulcast on WXRT? You performed a great tune w/ Stuart of the J. Davis Trio...CLASSIC!
Man I miss seeing PDP soooo much I just saw them at Ravinia - it was wonderful...I was at the recording of Liquid White Light - man - HOUSE - O - MATIC is phenom.
Whenever I go to one of their shows in Chicago, once this song starts, all you see is a sea of humans jumping up and down in time to the beat.I love it! Such great shows...
OMG!!!! I had so much fun at the show last night. THANK YOU FRANK for making Chicago the home of Poi Dog Pondering. I am so proud that YOU represent Chicago around the world. The new CD is the best EVER. I've been listening to it ALL day. It's THE best ever PDP CD. I was on the right side of the stage last night and got everyone DANCING!!!!!!
Don't know where to begin. I would play this song for my daughter when she was three and taking a bath. We called it the bathtub song. I was playing Pomegranate in my car and she was singing along just up to the "f" word and she stopped. My fave line in this song is "I'm not afraid of death, I'm scared of going through this twice! Last time I saw PDP was 10/17/03 at First Avenue in MSP. Come back!
Frank, thank you for all the wonderful music. caught you guys the last 3 new years eves. this time at double door was incredible. hope to see you again in chicago soon. much love
Long live Poi! First saw PDP in 92 in Portland and have caught them every chance I could. One of my treasures is a PDP setlist fro mthe 4/21/01 show in SF, signed by "Carla, the Only Fly Diva." Oh yea! Thanks Frank, for all the great music. Oh, that Thievery Corp show in May 05 was another highlight. Neither was the Oct 03 Portland show. The only disappointment? The time you came to Portland, but canceled at the last minute because the drummer didn't show.
thanks Frank for posting this i'm gonna watch the others too. i really love this song. i hope one day we can get a PdP reunion tour. i saw you at the treasure island music festival, i didn't realize that you were performing w/ Thievery Corporation. we love you Frank and Poi Dog Pondering!!! tom / berkeley ca
My fave Live band of all time!...you guys came to SLC your bus had broken down and the show was being delayed The Cure was the same night i left The Cure show early to make sure i saw you guy and Frank was outside just getting to the venue DV8 and he is one of the coolest guys i have ever met...with all the problems omg one of the best shows i had ever seen....Rock on Frank!!!
Frank, I bought the first Eps, the major label stuff, the techno, the new soul, I LOVE it all. Saw you in '91 or '92, blew my mind. Waited outside while a show was cancelled in the mid 90's. PLEASE come back to Columbus again.
as many have said...i played your music at my wedding. (now dissolved) steve miller was the dance and this was my exit...well i didn't get it right. twice won't happen...
two kids and 10 years later...daddy in charge. (or so they let me think) getting old, would like to see or hear, something from the parachute...still the best
This almost brought me to tears! It brings me back to the time and music of my first PdP concert...and reminds me that the energy I get from PdP's music is the same today as it was over 10 years ago.

One of my personal theme songs. I last saw you in San Francisco in September 2001. We needed to dance, and you gave us what we needed.
