I was a chef for decades, and commercial cookware is pretty much made to be taken apart, cleaned and repaired, for decades. Not so for home appliances, I've found. I would have found those 4 screws eventually --- but you saved me a ton of work and time.

Did you destroy both tubes? I still have one good one, check on line with Maytag or a local Maytag supplier.

Wow... great help for avoiding desctruction! I spent $29 on a replacement ignitor and I could get lucky and it will just be a clog.
The up side is I won't spend an extra $100 by destroying top range top!
