  • damn this brings back memories i still remember all the passwords good times

  • the european version of this game's box is much better.

  • I really love the music in the game! xD

  • Ggggggaaaaaaahhhhh, this game is a beast. You've gotta have some skill and patience to be able to beat this one.

  • Nice video review bro!

  • Dear Prizm4

where do you get your gameboy games?

  • @AXRookie You can get them from thrift stores, flea markets (swap meets), and any used place store thing. Just try and you will find them.

  • This game is tough as nails. Actually, I think nails are softer.

  • Yeah, you Americans got the worst box art for the Mega Man series. Not saying ours is any better, but the Japanese box art is the best (in my opinion).

  • and thumbs up if it reminds you about your childhood days

  • thumbs up if you're missing this game

  • Nice vid! I laughed when I saw the "black box" title come down. thumbs up anyone who still has your copy and will not sell out

  • This is available on the 3DS Virtual Console.

  • Can,t wait for it to be released in the nintendo 3DS eshops soon

  • classic game, classic review...still Far Out!

I'm really glad you keep Enker,Punk and Ballades weapons afteer you beat them in megaman 10 :D

  • hmm. box art isnt as bad as the 1st one

  • Has anyone ever told that you look like a Blonde Keiji Inafune? lol

  • @LewizX90 lol i guess there are some similarities...

  • @Prizm4

What would you say is the best megaman game on the gameboy (like the longest and most like the nes megaman). I have a gameboy color if that helps!

  • @lsdgamer That would be 3

  • @lsdgamer 1 or V are the best, but V can run about $50.00 on eBay and Amazon, but 3 would definitely be the longest.

  • you do know this works ON ALL GAMBOYS INCLUDING ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Enker and his Mirror Buster appear again in Mega Man 10 in the first special stage!

  • I CANT BEAT ENKAH! (or somthing like that)

  • 1:33 check out the sliding on ice megaman is like: "Yea I MEANT TO DO THAT BITCH"

  • shit that was funny at 0;23

  • can you have this for the NES?

  • Very good review.

  • this game is fucking hard, but awesome

  • 0:16 LOL

  • awesome review!

go to my channel for retro game reviews

  • When I was 6 and almost died I always loved to play this in the hospital.

  • This came originally came out at the same time as MegaMan 3 for the NES - they even had a combined commercial for both games, so I still remember. Also, the one you're holding up there is the re-release. The original boxart (of the first edition, so to say) looks WAY better!

  • @SonataFanatica I bought my copy of Megaman 1 GB in the States maybe a month after it came out in 1991. I have never seen any alternate boxart for it. The one I got was definitely the original release version, at least in the US.

  • @Prizm4 You're right, my mistake. In Europe we had a different cover. The cover you're showing in the video is the original US version - the reason I confused it was because they used the US boxart for the re-release in Europe, too. ^^

    Anyway, great video!

  • @Prizm4 iz need help on the final stage.

  • @SonataFanatica Dude, you must be thinkin about the PAL version, the name of that was Megaman Dr.Wily's Revenge.

It has a different box art =)

  • @SonataFanatica Not the re- release, thats the original, the re release was done in 1996 with the silver gameboy logo, like many games re released games that had the silver logo, which by the way was not as good as the original, looks worse

  • are you gonna review more gameboy games you are very good at rewieving

  • @Prizm4 Thanks for approving my video response. I really appreciate it :)

  • They Brought back Enker,Punk,& Ballade for MM10

  • now i am 22 years old...but i had this gameboy and this megaman game at beginning of the 90er too... it was a great gaming time...and this music is burner...^^ fucking fantastic

  • Is this gameplay straight from the Game Boy or emulator? 0:29

  • @jmanfan213 Recorded from emulator.

  • where i live the game is called "MegaMan- Dr.Wilys Revenge" =)

  • Yay

  • well, the levels are from both 1 and 2, not 1

  • That's the way the first 4 Gameboy games were made.

  • @Prizm4 do you have MegaMan5 for gameboy?

  • @sonickun95 I never bought the MM5 cartridge. I had stopped playing Gameboy by then. I didn't find out about it until a couple years after it came out.

  • @Prizm4 Too bad, i would love to see you making a review for the last installment of the MegaMan series on the GB, you've made great reviews so far =) keep it up =D

  • @Prizm4 Too bad, i would love to see you making a review for the last installment of the MegaMan series on the GB, you've made great reviews so far =) keep it up =D

  • That was my very first game! ... i love it ;-)

  • At 2:05, it sounded a bit like Pokemon Red/Blue in the bike O_o

  • wow thats kinda weird

  • yeah the box art is kinda bad but t think that megaman 1 & 2 had the worst boxart.

''you stand at disappearing blocks'' ''mjimji!''

    Sounds like your irritated XD

  • i actually had a hard time beating enker cause his moves werent really predictable to me lol

  • Great review man... I could never beat this when I was a kid, you make it look easy.

I'll have to give it another go!

  • Good review.......except that you pretty much spoil the game for anyone who hasn't played it yet.

  • Blowing in cartridges! The ultimate in nostalgia! :) Good review!

  • whats the password for the mirror buster

  • same code as above. You have to do Wily Stage 1 before you can get the Mirror Buster.

  • oh o . o

  • The cover of cartrige of japanese version is better XD

  • dr willy code: A 2,3 B 4 C 2,3

  • Yep, that's the code!

  • Good game but it was hard as hell. Good review.

  • Comment removed

  • Gameboy version is hard!

  • Dont blow in to the game the pins corrode

  • OHHHH, my chilhood game, XD

  • Tell me about it. The amount of hours I put in to this game was a lot. I was only 9 when I played it. It was hard to me back then! I was so happy when I clocked it. Great game man, you can't go wrong with this.

  • "That's right Iceman I am dangerous!" Lol, quoted the character Maverick from the movie 'Top Gun.' Very funny, lol.

  • ^^

'you have to stand on disappearing blocks'

    'mjeemjee'

  • Lol, I remember doing that with several of my gameboy games. Blowing into them to make them work, lol.

  • Megaman 1 on Gameboy, classic, epic, amazing, played the crap out of it. Also you reload this gun by GOING OUT AND RESEARCH THIS GAME N00B!!

  • I never beat the last stage

  • so how do u reload ur weapons?

  • Are you seriously asking that?! Pick up weapon pellets!

  • you either have shit for fuckin brains or a troll

  • haha nah i just never played this game and was wondering bout it :D

  • duuuuuuuuuuuuude what the hell?! ur missin out! classic of classics to me its up there with the original mario bros

  • I love gameboy. I recently found all my old gameboy stuff, I still enjoy it more then my DS. I need to get a new gameboy though, my mum accidently plugged a phone charger in it blowing it up when I was 7, I've been using my SP.

  • megaman games always have good bad ass music even tho im nto a big fan of regular megaman im more of a fan of the megaman x games but even tho all megaman games have kick ass music

  • Except Megaman 2 on game boy

  • damn i sold this

  • cool you still got the original box

  • dude your review just teleported me back to the early 90s. 5 stars without a doubt

  • awesome review, dude!

  • great review, i actually owned this game when i was a child

  • omg that music! So long ago!

  • can you review magamen 5 and the nes megaman games and that would be awsome

  • Great review man! I am writting from Barcelona, Catalunya, Spain.

I had this game, but i exchanged it with a mate and i never see it again. But today I buyed this game in a Cash & Converter store, It only cost 2,99 euros!!!

I like the beginning of your review, when the game don´t loads properly, it is soo authentic!!! XD

    Thx for the review. ;)

  • megaman 2 for game boy is my favorite i think the music fits even though its not taken from the nes version

  • Game boy color?

  • The boxart is 10x better than the NES one!

  • great game !!!!

  • A good-quality review.

  • Mega Man Is My Favorite Game Boy Game Ever Made!!

  • This game has great music and great replayability. A+

  • My first gameboy game.

  • me 2 :P

  • My favorite Megaman game and the only 1 I had as a child, and I'm sure it's also the best, but after so many years I can beat the game with no game overs already but it never gets old, I always play it like the first time, it has that magic all the old games have that makes u wanna play them again and again, damn I miss the classics.....

  • This must be around the time of 1991, when MegaMan 4 came out. And the artwork is just as BAAAD!

    LOL xD

    Great review!

  • did you know that blowing in your cartridges makes them work by putting a small layer of moisture on the "pins" improving thier conductivity but in the long run corroding them slightly each time? I just give the cart pins a rub with the edge of my shirt or put the cart in and out a few times, seems to do the job and no corrosion!

P.S. thankyou so much for the mega man reviews!

  • "That's right iceman, I AM dangerous!"

  • Brilliant review, I loved it! takes me back to the years when all I had was a little ol Game Boy. (actually not that little, those things can't fit in most pockets XD ) Unfortunately I never owned too many games for it, and this Mega Man is a classic that I missed out on. (Ps box art looks cool)

My favorite GB games were Killer Instinct and Pokemon Blue; I also had Kirby's Dream Land, Donkey Kong Land, and Bass Masters.

  • Whoa did you really have it in mint condition, or did you just save the packaging all this time? If it was in mint condition, you could've gotten some real $ for that.

  • 0:16 - 0:19 THAT WAS ACTION

  • this game is HARD

  • the european box art of 1 and 2 looks in fact really cool

  • The cover art isn't bad, I mean at least it doesn't look like the first mega man cover!

  • not a very in depth review, but i'm glad you made these 2 videos. if only there were more retro gamers in canada..

  • i got megaman xtreme on gameboy yesterday :)

  • A YouTube reviewer that dosen't say the F word every five seconds that's good.

  • oh, i so agree

  • Mega Man pwns, on Game Boy! :)

  • yeah, the box art always creeped me out xD

  • yeah he looks more like "megamidget" XD

  • Well their's a good thing though at least it did not look like it was done by salvadore dali like the nes covers

  • Dude I loved that game. Thanks for this video.

I found the graphics better than the original NES version.

Note that the european box art is much better ^^

  • one of the best GB-games i ever had

  • cute review bro!

  • Very enjoyable review, way better then most shit reviewers on YouTube like Irategame and so on. Subscribed.

  • *addiction*

  • i like how you realize that you dont have to overact and scream like a retard to review games. There are soo many lame game reviewers out that that just scream. I enjoy the laid back comedy style of reviewer I.E. deftgamer

  • videogametakeout is good also

  • continue doing your reviews. They are simple direct and done well.

  • Just like to say that your review is good and its nice to hear someone stating how good a game is.. rather than just slagging them off all the time. Also a review with out swearing, thats a first too! Well done, keep it up mate ;o)

  • That was a fantastic review. Very professionally done.

  • what? megaman 4? i thought it came before megaman 3..

  • the megaman gameboy cover is just like part of the megaman 3 on nes cover

  • hey when you recorded this did you use an emultor to make the video of you playing?

  • Great Review! I just completed my Gameboy Mega Man collection 1-5. I hope to see reviews for more Mega Man games.

  • OH FAR OUT!

  • Its such a waste that they didn't add gutsman and bombman for the gameboy. But who cares, good review.

  • what rating (out of 10) do you give this game?

  • And it's nice you used Megaman II's intro/Dr. Wily stage music at the end.

It's the only tune that is enjoyable in that game.

  • And the Master Robot music is excellent too. Even better than the NES title.

The last Dr. Wily stage music rocks as well.

  • Is that game actually just Mega Man?

I have the same one (in Germany) and it's called Mega Man II: Dr. Wily's Revenge.

  • Look at the background design and the stage artwork for this very first Megaman game for the Game Boy... they are so intense and so detailed, not to mention beautiful too! This game is a real masterpiece!

See from this debut title how dedicated Capcom is in making an excellent Megaman game for even the black-and-white original Game Boy?

And yes, Enker is a unique robot and Mirror Buster is a very unique weapon.

  • this game was very hard. the second hardest after megaman 7 on the snes.

  • yu kno i have dis wierd game for gameboy dats has 50 japanese games in therr including "rock"man 1,2,3,4,5,and a very bad version of 8..plus others like sonic,a kinda ok mario, and other crap..its wierd how they've got 50 in one but da grafix for this cudnt be good >=/

  • Damn,I want this for my GB.

  • buenisimo

  • best review of this game ever!

  • I said 4:51, mistake 00:52

  • Dude, it's the disappearing block noise.

  • The music was better than the sequel's.

  • yo why did you make that noise on 4:51 I was laughting.

  • I never liked this version. the hardware for the gameboy isnt as good as the nes and so the sprites are bigger and as a result the bosses are dummed down and easier.

  • Good review. :)

  • 00:19 - rofl

  • This is elecman stage gna gna xD

  • This was my second Gameboy game. I love this game. Especially the music.

  • WOOT my faverite Megaman game!

  • OMG this vid is awesome! Yeah like the beggining it was like lol the gameboy won't work cos the black thing came out instead of Nintendo. I experienced that too.

  • it must've been awesome, back then, to have megaman in your hands. i think its awesome. only the graphics are black and white, while game gear is color

  • you shouldent blow into it i usually tap my games it helps better
