this is a very nice video well made and the song gos well with it hopeing one day i can make my dream layout for all my lionel sets come true but till then i set them up on a 40x 60x layout and whach them run one set at a time
I just wanted to let you know that these videos have been one of my son's favorite things to watch. He is almost 3 and will go to his thomas and friends track and sing the song. We have a brief video of him singing along with your video. Can't wait to see the one for this year!
I sang this song for our winter sing-a-long in my third grade class (omg so long ago.. hahah 13 years?).. and I LOVE this song.. brings back such great memories...
This song always brings back memories of my dad. He loved trains and played the guitar by ear. I remember him sitting next to the Christmas tree, a small, wooden train track, and playing this song on his guitar. Brings tears back to my eyes.

Beautiful......takes me back to running our ho train with my Dad when I was little. It ran through Dad's workshop, the playroom, and a hall, all in the basement. There were mountains, a lake, tunnels, bridges, and Dad made it all. It's still there, 53 years later, though don't know if my sister and her husband (they bought the house from my parents in the 80's) have kept it running. What a shame if it isn't.....
I once went to a shop like this (it wasnt this but close) in OC, we went in but they kicked us out...in order to stay we had to "pay". I hated that, but anyways nice collection and hopfully you get more!! :D
this song was redone by Susan Aglukark i remember having to sing it in her Christmas album that was so many years ago maybe when i was 9 or 10 but the lyrics were a lil bit different
Hiya : Love your videos and I was wondering if you would be a guest on my show I have on Blog Talk Radio ? It is for Hobby Arts Crafts Radio Control Planes Music Cars Clay and Paint etc. I`m trying to have people intereated in doing things again instead of just sitting and worry..... Enough of that these days it seems.
Please return message if intereted or if a friend is interested in just talking few minutes or an hour about what interests you have ... Sincerely Yours; Torq64
My dad loved trains and at eighteen he was a switch-men on the IL Central for towns of Harvey and Richton IL for a short time. My Grandfather also, worked for Railroad as a night watchmen before he retired. My Dad bought me a train set when i was little kid and help me set up, this was a favorite childhood memory! Every time this song came on the radio my Dad would turn up the volume. He passed in1995 of cancer but songs like this keep his memory alive! England Swings & King of the Road! too!
at 1:04 the train on the self on the right i bought at the factory in michigan it was totaly rebuilt and i have the whole frieght set does anyone have history on it???
is that a zephyr at 1:26? I know where there is another one, the Flying Yankee, built in 1935, by Lionel, it is in Intervale, NH, it is the original one. cool vid
Fantastic video. Love trains always have. My dad said only boys play with trains. My son loved trains when he was little too. I got to play with trains with my son. Our favorite place to visit was the Griffth train park and the Orange Empire train museum both in California.
funny, my 3 and a half year old boy can watch this video over and over and over again, if I switch it he tells me "Dont change it daddy, that's rude".
This really brings back memories of when my Dad and I set up our trains every Christmas. I really looked forward to that every year. My Dad passed away in 1961.
I have been looking for this song for the last month. What a joy to find this video with the song! I listened to this song as a young teenager with my first cassette player (I recorded straight from the radio and didn't know the name or artist, but could remember all the lyrics. I love this - thank you so much!!!
I think that this is my favorite Christmas song. I found it here not long ago. I have been a fan of Roger for years. I tried to find his rendition in the music stores, but was able only to find one by various artists. I think it is sad that no one else records it, maybe I'm wrong, but it is absolutly wonderful
Love the trains, not crazy about the song, but to each their own. Nice to see tinplate running! Is it just me, or are the rear wheels on the Dorfan loco not turning? Thanks for sharing!
your video is great! Trains are excellent. music is very relaxing and the children are so lovely and so natural. The photography is well done an mixed, I really enjoy it and have it as favourite. three rail trains have not been big here in Australia. I asume these are Lionel but the electric looks like an Ives that my father had
