How To Fix Redsn0w Errors Including Uploading Ramdisk & Freezing

Had problem with Limera1n getting stuck at about 90%. Tried setting affinity to cpu 0, windows xp sp 3 compatability but didn't work. Eventually switched the usb cable from an usb 3 port to an usb 2 port and it worked!

This is for anyone who wants to update their iPhone 3G 4.1 (05.15.04) to the iPad baseband but gets stuck at the uploading ramdisk part on redsn0w 0.9.6b5. It worked when I right clicked redsn0w > Properties > change Compatibility mode to: XP SP2. I didn't run as admin. When putting your iPhone into DFU mode, I kept on HOLDING the home button while it was fetching the iPad baseband files, then it uploaded the ramdisk. I released the home button when It reboots & you see a running pineapple.

When we set 'Set Affinity' to the process is there anything specific that should be ticked, or that it should say? I've tried that fix, but mine says "redsn0w.exe *32" and only the CPU 1 box is checked. Redsnow still crashes as soon as I try to install the 6.15 baseband. Anyone?

I do all the processes to the point where i put it into DFU mode. Once I do this it goes to the screen where it tells me to be patient and all of a sudden the redsnow goes away and does not reopen or continue working. Do you know why this is happening??

if on 5.0.1 download 5.0.0 ipsw then in redsn0w click extras > select ipsw (find 5.0.0 ispw) > back > jailbreak + cydia. Once this happens your ipod will be tethered But all you have to do its go into cydia search for corona and select corona 5.0.1 untethered and install it. It worked for me. Yes it work even if your on 5.0.1. for some reason if you use the 5.0.1 ipsw it freezes your ipod. idk why.

@salvyballa23 on your pc if you are running a multi-core cpu. go to task manager and under proccesses look for ressn0w.exe, right click click on set affinity and un check all but cpu 0 then click ok. it should be able to complete it after

i think you need to open redsnow and instead of choosing "install cydia" , choose the "reboot tethered" instead .

note: if you have Cydia already installed on iphone and try the run redsn0w that include Cydia and ipad baseband, redsn0w will crash. make sure Cydia is unchecked...
