  • Squirt a tube a NO-NAILS in, should be ok for another 100k minimum.....

  • Not broken. Fucked.

  • No... it's fine!......NOT!

  • i have a 2006 130 tdci mondeo and i have a propblem with when i start the car it sounds like its turning over at half the idle speed then goes to full idle speed after about 2 secs. this happens maybe 1-5 starts and sometimes it never recovers and just stalls any idea's?

  • Yep. Wayy too much play. It will move, but not that much.

Underload it will sound noisy, and potentially struggle to start in cold tempratures.

  • @bolter99

Cheers mate do you have much knowledge about these? It gives a grumble on idle every now and then but not as bad as I have heard on a Peugeot boxer van that a friend had.

It seems ok during the 2010 winter. Not chenged it yet as it costs way too much.

  • @ollyb360 Ive had two fail on me ... third ones just started making noises.

It normally makes a "Grunt" sound under load (eg. start of gears at low revs). Only way i can describe it is like when the Airbox is removed.

Over £400 from Vauxhall for my Flywheel. -.-

  • @ollyb360 Be careful, if the flywheel is not working as it should, it transmits a lot of vibrations to the gearbox and it could damage it. Avoid high revs and fast starts.

  • @19Spider87 Well she has just flipped over 135000 miles today. Still seems to be driving as she should. Fast starts and racing in this isn't my thing to be honest it a diesel not designed for that just travels me about. I have my kit car for thrashing around.

  • @ollyb360 Yea, im on my 2nd broken dual mass flywheel on my Corsa CDTI. Luckily there are single mass conversion kits on eBay for my car, which include the clutch and thrust bearing.

Convert it if you can, single mass flywheel wont fail like these DMFs.

  • @ollyb360 /watch?v=MfNjARZc5Wo Heres a link briefly describing what they do.

  • what were you doing in order to make it move, pushing on the clutch?

  • @st3reo23

No. The car has it's wheels free, I took the starter motor off put the car into forth gear and moved the N/S wheel back and forth. It's now just gone over 130,000 miles.

  • @ollyb360 Oh I see, and normally it shouldn't move at all?

  • @st3reo23

Oh dear. Well it's done 9000 mile since I checked that, so maybe I'll keep driving for a little longer until it stops as they are expensive to do.

    Thanks though.

  • Yes it's broken!

  • @Memphis19860720

Are you sure because it's now on 126000 miles and I haven't changed it.

Also it looks like it's on the original clutch and flywheel ect...
