I'd love to think that Sasori died in his parents arms, but really it was more of a metaphor for the time his puppet parents in the flash backs fell down lifeless as does he in turn. Also, he was technically killed by his puppet parents and they aren't even touching that puppet body in the last scene. I really hope they bring Sasori back some how, being an expert on puppets and weaknesses in designs, you'd think he'd have a back up of himself somewhere

It was Sakura. In ways she probably reminded him of himself when he was young, of how things could have been if he was raised with a family in a village not so cold and barren as the Sand. From seeing her, he kind of had a bit of an awakening on how empty his life truly was, even though he would die before willingly admitting to this.
@MrPekingCat I love your analysis on Sasori and agree that there is indeed some truth there. The fact that he also handles his death gracefully both attests to his personality and the lack of life he lived. However, Sakura cheated in a way, all other characters would of been effected by the poison after those three minutes, but she just keeps going. I know shes powerful, but really Sasori wins by default because she's "good" and won for that reason. Good guys win usually to just keep the story.
It is true that he never really lived a life of substantial meaning, as a result he was willing to forfeit his own body. His upbringing in the Sand Village was the main reason for his apathy. And although he did become cold and sociopathic, he did not transform into another 4th Kazekage, so barren and willing to forfeit his own son for his selfish interests. The 4th was about as wretched as Orochimaru, ironic that he met his death at his hands. Sasori was not as bad by comparison.
@MrPekingCat I did not know that the 4th Kazekage was as bad as Orochimaru, I haven't had the time to read the Naruto series if it's mentioned there what he was like. If that's the case though, I don't feel bad that Sasori killed him then, Sasori didn't seem from the beginning to be the traditional "bad" guy and that's what made me instantly like him. Slight spoiler is that he comes back far, far later in the story and from what I've heard, it's interesting to see how he reacts to being back
Orochimarua killed the 4th (Gaara's father), Sasori the 3rd.
With regards to the battle, realistically Sakura would have probably froze at the first critical moment and this would have been her end. She has the heart, but heart alone is not always enough when there is an obvious experience gap present. Chiyo would likely be able to detain him for so long before she herself gives.
Should have involved Guy's team to make the fight more balanced perhaps.
@MrPekingCat Ah, my mistake. Was the third a bad person in anyway though? (Forgive my ignorance, I haven't read the manga series yet as I said) I wonder though why Kakashi's father either purposefully or perhaps on accident killed Sasori's parents though. I don't think he ever would of turned into what he did had that critical and sad time in his life made him do almost a 180 in comparison to the sweet, quiet and gentle natured boy he was.
I don't how much is known of the 3rd, he was supposedly one of the greatest in capability among the Kazekage.
Likely the White Fang was only carrying out his mission and Sasori's parents happened to be incidentally caught up in the line of fire so to say. Just another thoughtless inadvertent tragedy of warfare most plausibly.
Being raised up in a barren and unforgiving village such as Sunakagure without a foundation for love and moral support forged his cold, impassive nature growing up.
Interesting that in a village like Konahakagure, a hero like Naruto is able to foster himself into prominence solely through the premise of believing in himself. Would such a character be allowed to grow and develop down that lofty straight and narrow path in a more unforgiving survivalist environment such as the Land of Wind?
A burning question posed in the series, obviously there has been no hero like Naruto outside of Konoha.
@MrPekingCat I think another reason he was willing to forfeit his own body was for his belief in art, which probably stemmed from losing his parents. He felt that humans and their bodies are too fragile to just parish like that and that a puppet, can always be reanimated, so he desired to not meet the same fate. If he had his way, everyone eventually may become the hybrid puppets he was, as they wouldn't be able to die from disease or injury. I can imagine losing someone makes you feel that way.
@MrPekingCat They wouldn't win that situation. Sasori was more then enough to destroy any of them and hard to kill. Though, I can get why he wouldn't want to live though after that and I think he was shocked when his grandma said she could bring puppets to life and the dead using her life force. And yet, he didn't freak out, he just accepted things, that's amazing for a villain, none of them do that, also in the end he kinda turned around, giving info to Sakura as reward for defeating him
@xxIlovedogs During his fight with Sasuke, when he finally was so pissed and out of choices because Sasuke had cracked all this techniques and jutsu, he goes back on his final plan and opens the stitches to the mouth on his chest. He gives it clay and he plans to go out with a final artistic BANG, and take Sasuke, who he hates because of his Sharingan, with him. He dies... but Sasuke lives... So no, he killed himself with his art.

Not trying to exploid the name, but Akasuna no Sasori means "Scorpion of the Red Sand." Becides that i enjoyed the music video. Sasori is my favorite character of Naruto and it was sad to see him die.

I think it sucks that he died but if you watch or read the series Chiyo explains that he could have dodged the last attack. So he willingly died in the embrace of his parents. I think that is a good ending to great but evil person.

This doesn't however explain his motivation for willingly ending his own life. Philosophies can often serve as masks for true motives, and even if he claimed he had embodied physical perfection, he still acknowledges the emptiness he must suffer from living as a cold puppet.
@MrPekingCat Sasori grew up without the love of his parents because they died, which sparked sasoris desire for things that won't die. In turn he lived many years without aging and having to fight the first puppets he ever made which he made in the image of his parents, He may have decided at his last moments that it would be better to die in a way that he wanted, then living for the sake of his art.
Looking to the moment in Sasori's childhood when he first assembled his puppet family, (if one remembers) he felt an ache in his heart upon assembling his idealistic scene, then released the puppets from their embrace. This perhaps hints that he may have realized the emptiness of creating things that were seemingly eternal. His desire to die in the arms of his puppet parents (if one assumes this is what it was) contradicts this step in character development going back to his childhood.

Although he was killed early on in the story, he has been resurrected by Kabuto (or is it really Orochimaru?) at this point in progression, so he may yet be somehow instrumental in the overall picture and further insights and development may yet occur for Sasori, who knows.

@Klespyrio Well we have to remember she has gotten stronger and with her fight with Sasori she did predict his moves a little ways into the battle. She is a smart observer and planner. Sasuke, as far as I know, is just strong. She might stand a chance for a little while but not for long.
@temaritwin07 She doesn't really observe. When she get angry she just blindly rushes into battle and doesn't assess anything. Sasuke is an excellent strategist if you watched any of his fights in shippuuden that were important.( deidara, itachi, etc. ) Also, she couldn't really predict his moves, she had to have Chiyo control some of her movements because Chiyo could read them better.
Yeah man no1 can defeat Sasori except his grandma. Sakura was lucky Chiyo was with her or Sasori would have finished them all quickly. Only reason they were able to defeat Sasori was because Grandma Chiyo was there to back up Sakura. Nobody could dodge his poison needles and interpret his secret poison attacks except Chiyo. Sasori is BEAST ;)

It is true that he never really lived a life of substantial meaning, as a result he was willing to forfeit his own body. His upbringing in the Sand Village was the main reason for his apathy. And although he did become cold and sociopathic, he did not transform into another 4th Kazekage, so barren and willing to forfeit his own son for his selfish interests. The 4th was about as wretched as Orochimaru, ironic that he met his death at his hands. Sasori was not as bad by comparison.

@MrPekingCat I did not know that the 4th Kazekage was as bad as Orochimaru, I haven't had the time to read the Naruto series if it's mentioned there what he was like. If that's the case though, I don't feel bad that Sasori killed him then, Sasori didn't seem from the beginning to be the traditional "bad" guy and that's what made me instantly like him. Slight spoiler is that he comes back far, far later in the story and from what I've heard, it's interesting to see how he reacts to being back

Orochimarua killed the 4th (Gaara's father), Sasori the 3rd.
With regards to the battle, realistically Sakura would have probably froze at the first critical moment and this would have been her end. She has the heart, but heart alone is not always enough when there is an obvious experience gap present. Chiyo would likely be able to detain him for so long before she herself gives.
Should have involved Guy's team to make the fight more balanced perhaps.

(Forgive my ignorance, I haven't read the manga series yet as I said) I wonder though why Kakashi's father either purposefully or perhaps on accident killed Sasori's parents though. I don't how much is known of the 3rd, he was supposedly one of the greatest in capability among the Kazekage.
Likely the White Fang was only carrying out his mission and Sasori's parents happened to be incidentally caught up in the line of fire so to say. Just another thoughtless inadvertent tragedy of warfare most plausibly.
Being raised up in a barren and unforgiving village such as Sunakagure without a foundation for love and moral support forged his cold, impassive nature growing up.

@MrPekingCat I think another reason he was willing to forfeit his own body was for his belief in art, which probably stemmed from losing his parents. He felt that humans and their bodies are too fragile to just parish like that and that a puppet, can always be reanimated, so he desired to not meet the same fate. If he had his way, everyone eventually may become the hybrid puppets he was, as they wouldn't be able to die from disease or injury. I can imagine losing someone makes you feel that way.

Though, I can get why he wouldn't want to live though after that and I think he was shocked when his grandma said she could bring puppets to life and the dead using her life force. And yet, he didn't freak out, he just accepted things, that's amazing for a villain, none of them do that, also in the end he kinda turned around, giving info to Sakura as reward for defeating him

@xxIlovedogs During his fight with Sasuke, when he finally was so pissed and out of choices because Sasuke had cracked all this techniques and jutsu, he goes back on his final plan and opens the stitches to the mouth on his chest. He gives it clay and he plans to go out with a final artistic BANG, and take Sasuke, who he hates because of his Sharingan, with him. He dies... but Sasuke lives... So no, he killed himself with his art.

I think it sucks that he died but if you watch or read the series Chiyo explains that he could have dodged the last attack. So he willingly died in the embrace of his parents. I think that is a good ending to great but evil person.

From what little is known of his back story, one can only speculate..Maybe from his pre-Akatsuki days he caught some nasty degenerative virus that would have caused his body to progressively rot in a not so gracious manner. This doesn't however explain his motivation for willingly ending his own life. Philosophies can often serve as masks for true motives, and even if he claimed he had embodied physical perfection, he still acknowledges the emptiness he must suffer from living as a cold puppet.

In turn he lived many years without aging and having to fight the first puppets he ever made which he made in the image of his parents, He may have decided at his last moments that it would be better to die in a way that he wanted, then living for the sake of his art.

Looking to the moment in Sasori's childhood when he first assembled his puppet family, (if one remembers) he felt an ache in his heart upon assembling his idealistic scene, then released the puppets from their embrace. This perhaps hints that he may have realized the emptiness of creating things that were seemingly eternal. His desire to die in the arms of his puppet parents (if one assumes this is what it was) contradicts this step in character development going back to his childhood.

Although he was killed early on in the story, he has been resurrected by Kabuto (or is it really Orochimaru?) at this point in progression, so he may yet be somehow instrumental in the overall picture and further insights and development may yet occur for Sasori, who knows.

@Ahmannaeatchoo in the end, Sasori was willing to sell his soul for eternal life and he wasn't even able to attain this. Perhaps he did find his pursuit of becoming a human puppet to be fruitless. He saw life in Sakura, all while the while he was left to be cold and empty as puppet. This only lead to his desire to die. Upon his resurrection he had felt his old decision to make himself a living puppet to be all so pointless, now that he seemingly was granted eternal life in his undead form.

@Klespyrio Yeah. I just watched that recently because I'm just a loser like that but he did die well. I just didn't like it when he hit his head on the wall and slide down. That made me sad, because it showed how weak he actually was because of his sickness.

Sasuke killed his brother out of misplaced anger, then when he learns it was misplaced, instead of learning from his mistakes, decides to experience more misguided anger and aggression. It was just saddening that Sauske couldn't even get it through his head that his brother dying was so he could be a hero, not another enemy. Ugh he drives me nuts. I like that Sakura grows out of him though, she really is much better without him.

@temaritwin07 She doesn't really observe. When she get angry she just blindly rushes into battle and doesn't assess anything. Sasuke is an excellent strategist if you watched any of his fights in shippuuden that were important.( deidara, itachi, etc. ) Also, she couldn't really predict his moves, she had to have Chiyo control some of her movements because Chiyo could read them better.

Yeah man no1 can defeat Sasori except his grandma. Sakura was lucky Chiyo was with her or Sasori would have finished them all quickly. Only reason they were able to defeat Sasori was because Grandma Chiyo was there to back up Sakura. Nobody could dodge his poison needles and interpret his secret poison attacks except Chiyo. Sasori is BEAST ;)
