Ok so I was the soloist in this video. First thank you for all the serious criticisms and complements. I will say it was def. wayyy too fast it was a problem we had while rehearsing too. Def was pitchy, and was def nervous. I was only 18 at the time, feel like if I got another crack at it I could do a little better now. Harmony was off a little bit too.
I wouldnt be so hard on yourself. It was quite a good performance. Some small details that you and rbright79 picked up especially harmony strength (and ferrets with the SNAPS!! which I totally agree with)...
But show me a high-school group that performs live with 100% accuracy every gig and I'll show you a group that is miming :D
Plus, solo leads that are super cute get bonus points even before they open their mouths.
Not bad. I haven't sung for quite a long time now. Though I have a vocal rang of over 2 octives and can sing well (other people have told me so) it does take a lot of nerves to sing lead in front of a crowd, especially a big crowd.
I think the backing vocals need a bit more strength and not so "sanitised" and need to improvise a bit more. I've watched videos of Billy Joel singing this live and it rocks.
It is technically not that difficult to sing as compared to some other songs like Queen
Hokay. So. I liked it. It was a very nice blend. And for the most part you had a very nice speed. It was just very shaky, and I was almost waiting for it to fall apart. You need to give Billy Joel some justice and not do this song as a "last minute" thing. Good job for what it's worth, though.
theres some tuning problems... sometimes you get really quiet and its pretty awkward... the solo overpowers the harmony... i think i would have liked it if you worked on it instead of making it last minute... because tuning is hard in this song... lol messed up the words last verse too... also i hate how the two tenors did the ooo OOOO ooooo... at the end... really awkward
ok ima have to say this is alot better than what ive been seeing and hearing on youtube, at least their not sining it to fast.. yeah they forgot the fingersaping, but its a song that isnt even of there time so ill cut them some slack
Definatly well done ^_^ The only issue I would have with this is the tenor soloist,, it doesnt really seem like he fully understands what hes singing about, its too rushed. This is a beutiful song and is very flexible with the phrasing of the lyrics as long as you listen to eachother. That elasticity is essential, other than that great job! ^_^ keep up the awesome work
I have watched many different versions of this song on youtube, but this is by far the best. I love the soloist, a beautiful and clear voice. It's obvious it was just put together in some parts which makes the performance even more astounding!
I lyk ur voice :)
