Its an amazing fantasy Dark Ride... I loved it However I dont like how they are hypeing this ride up like an E -Ticket Ride like Star Tours which has lines without fastpasses exceeding 3 hour wait time.....Ariel On Saturday July 23rd when I wentwhen the park had 60,000 some guests it was a 15 minute wait......the public isnt liking this ride Only hardcore Disneyland fans like myself liked it.

@cayleighsings But a castle wouldn't have made sense for the CA version since it was designed for Paradise Pier. Just like Toy Story Mania, the Little Mermaid ride was originally designed for DCA's Paradise Pier first and the company chose to do a knock-off by adding it to WDW's Fantasyland expansion. It will be virtually the same exact ride except for the exterior and longer indoor queue due to the horrid weather in Orlando throughout the summer months.

I think "clone" would be a better phrase than "knock off". And that's very true. Both were designed for CA Adventure, and then later decided to put in WDW. Toy Story actually opened first over there, largely due to CA Adventure actually building the building for the ride, where they already had an empty on in Florida,

I just came back from the Magic kingdom, their work so far in the Fantasyland Expansion looks great, you can see the roof of the little mermaid ride, its like a mini castle, they also got some of the circus tents built. Can't wait to go next year

This is a great attraction! The line moves fast. The music is as classic as the movie itself. The animatronics and building look great. Disney definitely put a lot into this attraction. I think the best thing is to look around and see all the different people getting on this ride. I've seen people from various countries, male and female, young and old, come to this attraction.

its funny how wen it opened the wait was 4 hours and now its 20 min. when star tours II opened it was 6 hours, now its 2 hours.

@canadianbaconbro The reason the wait times have gone waaaaaaaayyy down is because by mid June, the majority of the annual passholders were blocked out for the summer. There are over one million annual passholders, so that really makes a difference when they're not there.

@adwestmediairvine majority? the deluxe and premium arent blocked. plus its summer, the second busiest time of the year, the wait shud b longer. then again the ride uses an omnimover so that helps keep the line moving.

hope the WDW mermaid ride they build will be like a "2.0" version, like an actual giant ursula or a better ending(same EXACT robots from under the sea), don't get me wrong the ride is amazing, Ariel looks so real and beautiful but for the first time the imagineers disappointed me, they could have done a lot more than animotronics, like laser effects for the water, and those CGI animations were retarded seriously that only gave me the hint that you were stuck so yall just put CGI to cover it.

I was in Disneyland in May and this ride wasn't supposed to be open until June. On one of our last days there, we noticed a big line up and were really curious. Turns out they were letting people in and my family and I went crazy! Got in line and were so excited. It's a really great ride and it was about time they made an Ariel ride!

@dancebrittany23 Why lion king necesarily? Theres already a show for Lion king, think about all the other great disney movies that dont even have a show or a ride like Mulan, Pocahontas[not anymore], Hercules, Pinnochio, Cars, Beauty and the Beast.

The Next ride after the little mermaid and the mine train coaster, will be the Monster's Inc inverting coaster, said to be built as an expansion to Pixarland in Hollywood studios, Monsters inc will alredy have 2 attractions so yeah.

CA Adventure has a Little Mermaid themed carousel, Ariel's Grotto restaurant, character dining, and bar, and now the Little Mermaid ride. So three Little Mermaid themed attractions all in the same land. At least WDW has them at different parks.

@cayleighsings Actually the castle will just be a facade, the actual ride will be located inside the caverns. The ride at DCA is meant to resemble a grand seaside pavilion, the exterior fits perfectly in Paradise Pier =)
