diego reminds me of my birdie, who is a shamrock macaw. she'll change pitch and style of "hello" to grab you attention. they're more social than i ever imagined. i'm glad that you take such good care of your special friend. i treat mine just like another person.

i have a lil ekkie... in my bedroom.. he is 5 months old and his name is ZORRO.... my parents are freaking out because they recon its not healthy to have birds were i sleep and that this powder that comes off birds is very bad for u to inhale...
seeing as though u seem to know ur birds...maybe u can shed a light on this situation as i'd hate to move my baby from my room.. we are like inseprable brothers...
Well, I think that the feather dust would be harmful to you if you have no medical problems or have no qualms about cleaning it up.
I actually think that moving your ekkie into a "busy" place in the house for the day would be beneficial, then you can move it into your bedroom at night.
u r right thinkin the dust isnt good4u,but thr r filters&machines on sale that take a lot of the dust away..if u r being ill with it,then stop straight away..if not & u find an air PURIFIER machine is available,get one..it will be well worth it&will mean u get 2keep hold of yr bird,hopefully for many years..good luck..
If u in UK. premier cages (found in the Parrot society mag) have purifiers..they round £100,but if its diff btween gettin rid & keepin ya bird, to me theres no contest.
OMG--How lucky these birds are to have you!! I only have ONE greenwing and he takes up half of every day!
If I didn't have to work, I would get more birds! They are such a joy!! ( Have to work to support the bird's toys, cages, playstands, food, oh and MORE toys!!)
LOL, yeah they are spoiled rotten!! We have 6 birds in our home right now. 2 male ekkies, 2 B&G's, 1 GW and a tiel. We also have 3 kids (12,12,18) and 2 dogs and work full-time plus design and create glass jewelry. I think we are crazy!
We are thinking of adopting Diego into our home forever. :)
