  • Hey man - I'm no expert cinematographer, but that was Awesome!!!!!

  • hey did u use a 35mm adapter for this or not?????? its really goood!!!!

  • You Messed Up A Little.

You Were Walking On Grass, Then Next Scene You Were On The Road.

    Anyone Else Notice Thaat?

    Other Than That Great Video!

  • @RecklessDiamond who cares.

  • @13rianne Im just saying, if they want it to be perfect they need to make a little bit more corrections.

  • @RecklessDiamond the term perfect is obsolete

  • can i use your video ?

  • This video helped convince me get an HV20 back in 2007. I'm upgrading to a Panasonic HVX200 this week, but still. Good times.

  • I swear these kids all look alike today. All I see are Beibers everywhere. It's creepy.

With that aside, this is some amazing footage. How many frames per second were you shooting at to get that smooth slow motion scene?

  • So is the cannon hv20 better than the 30? So far from what i've seen the hv 30 is looking like crap compared to this. Just out of curiosity, what lens did you use? Great music selection too!!!!

  • @KodieBlue they're the same thing

  • u must be feeling awesome while filming this!!!

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • He Went From Walking On The Street To The Grass.

    That Messed Up The Video:/

  • howd it stay dry

  • considering hv20 or hv30.......any suggestions?

  • that was really good! i love the colors

  • u play in ben 10?

  • What kind of lens did you use?

  • haha why wast the time to film something out in the rain?

  • Could have used that kind of quality on my latest video with rain.

  • boooooooooooooooooooring

  • Hey Bieber........ 'sup?

  • pretty good and cool what camera?

  • @SchunductionStudios It's a camcorder: Canon hv20.

  • Looked quite professional until you started running ;)...

  • good sound design!

  • Comment removed

  • no, he looks like DEXTER!

  • some one needs to stop wearing girls pants. lol nice video

  • i know that suv traveled back in time like in back to the future.........

  • Nice job looking right into the camera at 0:07.

  • watch my video "Canon Legria hf s10 cinema mode 25p (film look) test" in find, or in my profile. Senks.

  • there are thing call camera rain hood & lens shroud..

  • Was this with the canon wide angle lens? i am looking for a wide angle that does not darken at the corners too much. It is pretty and very mood setting for this video, but not for what I need.

  • this is not a hv20

  • @pacmanlegend Yes, it is a HV20. I know what this camera can do because I have one. Why do you say it's not?

  • @edger428 had the hv30...sold it and got a caon t2i. I've never seen any footage get this good with the hv20. Think about it....no steadicam he says...hes clearly walking backwards.....this does not even look like hv20 footage to me. His other hv20 videos were not as good. Guess what...those were removed for so odd reason

  • @edger428 look at my video's all but one was shot with the hv20...

  • @edger428 look at my video's all but one was shot with the hv20... he also used color corrrection

  • how do you keep the camera dry?

  • cmon u guys, this is pure talent for someone his age..i love this song!

  • anyone know what that dark transparent edges effect is called?

  • @briancollazo46 That would be called a vignette

  • this is not the sound cars make haha =)

  • how did you keep the camra dry?

  • i want this camera..

  • wet look bieber ahahaha

  • first two shots are not correctly edited.i think so.the face turns to right.and the next shot does not carry a match cut.anywz, the color of the vdo is cool.its great

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome Video :)

  • Good looking boy right there, woo, Hottie.

  • what did you use to edit this?

  • just asking. what method did you use to get the footage to a computer.??

  • This is pretty good, you edited it cool too

  • I like what you did there. My brother used this camera for a bit. I switched from the GL2 and XL1s to multiple 5D Mark II bodies and various lenses. I just did a new tutorial on 5D Filmmaking and a "Small Town Murder" documentary. -Cheers.

  • This looks great. Fuck these people talking about Justin Bieber. Only fags know what he looks like anyway.

  • This is amazing, the cinematography coupled with the music is outstanding.

  • How long did you have to wait for a perfect day like this?

  • still my favorite HV footage

  • Beautiful video

  • Hi am from mexico and i love it your video, I want a cam canoan hv40, how is you camera?

  • very nice three point structure to capture the moment :)

  • You guy's he obviously used stock background noise of rain and the thunder then the same with the car because an umbrella would make noise and if I'm wrong then he probably used some sort of thick cloth over the camera unlike the plastic from the umbrella to reduce the noise.

  • sweet

  • OCCHIO AI FULMINI

  • the end is very good

  • All it takes is know how, and lighting.

  • ehh.. where is the car at 0.24?

  • im starting to think this video is a lie.....maybe this was not filmed with the hv20. Has anybody ever came close to the quality of this video?

  • Comment removed

  • I agree with "@pacmanlegend ", this video is also in my opinion a fake on the grounds that the author claims. The videographer claims that the video is made on Canon HV20 with little or no special equipment or post production. Well after watching this clip I felt for the con and bought the same camera and never achived the same qaulity . Here is just one of the reasons, see how smooth the camera man is running along, not possible without a pro jig, like dolly and rail, or at least steady cam..

  • @daniela786786 glad im not the only one. i sold my hv30...trying to get a canon t2i

  • @daniela786786 With respect and I truly do feel with you that you perhaps have bought the camera for nothing, It's not just the camera that matters, you need to use the right lenses as well.

And I dunno if you have had a discussion with the video uploader or not but it doesn't say anywhere in the video or the description that nothing else but the camera was used to make this video.

Please be were that I did not mean to offend you in anyway but as an explanation.

  • @daniela786786 Actually you can achieve Steadicam like results with a tripod. Just close all the legs (butkeep them extended) now hold the tripod somewhere just abouve the center of gravity. This set up works in the same way that the VeriZoom Flow Pod works. I've also done it by placing the cam in a plastic grocery bag and holding it by he bag handles. not perfect but it works better than hand held. make sure you cut out a hole in the bag for the lens and for the LCD screen.

  • you're hot.

  • I use an HV30 with letus mini adapter and I STILL can't get my stuff to look this good. What settings is the camera at (white balance, shutter speed, etc.) and what kind of color correction was done?

  • What did you use to edit?

  • The back of your jacket was wet in different places at :14 and :22

    Anyone else notice that?

  • @lolzxxxlolz i guess his jacket dries fast lol

  • why r there so many views?

  • @TheKrismak this video convinced a LOT of people, including my DP on our short films, to buy the hv20...it has a high quality look, just a hair under professional, that alot of up-and-coming filmmakers are starting out using, and even entering them in big-league film festivals...watch "White Red Panic" an 8-minute short film....he's using the hv20 as well, and it looks like a legit movie (some of it may have been suped-up editing though, lol)

  • @JManno

The Pentax KX ain't too shabby either. Lots of DSLR's being used for live action these days.

  • Justin Bieber?

  • Go to ebay and type Canon VIXIA HV20 no wear or tear. Great value with Rode Mic.

The auction ends in less than 24hrs.

  • justin bieber

  • how did you not get any rain on the camera? and if you used an umbralla how did you do it without the sound of rain on an umbralla..?

  • @equalsLIFE probably killed some of the real sound and added fake rain sound.

  • Hay I really like your steady cam work, following him running up the him. Very smooth.

  • why call women whores, who brought you up.

  • Cool

  • do some more shots/footage/short films man....looks like you a certain "eye" for something, and I think you could make a great short film

  • I just shot some vid with my new 40, but nothing like this! Super job bro!

  • is this sony vegas and if so which version and what did you do?

  • This video looks really clean... I am amazed at how well it was encoded considering it was uploaded to yourtube 3 years ago... all of my youtube videos encoded in 2007 look like complete shit. Full of compression artifacts.

  • i like this song what is it?

  • Was this shot with the standard lens?

  • hey bro how did you make the motion so smooth??

  • U look like justin bieber xD

  • @Matematyka789 ahhhhhahahahaha lmao over here i was gonna say the same thing dude

  • @Matematyka789 no he doesn't, why does everyone look like Justin Bieber these days?

  • @Matematyka789 how the fuck does he look like justine bieber.

  • @Matematyka789 that was my first thought haa

  • @Matematyka789 This video was uploaded in 2007. So you're wrong, Justin Bieber looks like this guy.

  • amazing

  • Several questions:

    1. What program did you color correct with?

    2. how exactly did you keep the lens dry

    3. What Steadicam did you use (if any)

  • canon hf s21 or the canon hv20/40. I make featue like films? what do you recomend?

  • That was so random o_o

Walking in the rain peacefully is fun though.

  • 0:21 - 0:25

    Continuity fail.

  • @mwcJBrown91 I don't think that was supposed to look like a continuous shot, was it?

  • @mwcJBrown91

    *thumbs up*

    -Mark

  • @mwcJBrown91

    Continuity is for girls.

  • @mwcJBrown91

    totally :D

  • @mwcJBrown91 ... wow

  • @mwcJBrown91 naaa the car go so?

  • @mwcJBrown91 can you pls elaborate how it was a continuity failure pls...my amateur eyes couldn't see it :(

  • @hemantofkanpur The seemless transitions give off a feel that this entire scene was taken in one shot. However, since there was obviously only one camera, we know this is not the case. Nevertheless, a continuity error appears when we see the white vehicle approach at 0:21, go behind the character at 0:25, and then disappear when the shot changes. No big deal, just thought I'd point it out. Funny, that was 9 months ago!

  • this guy look like bieber

  • nice!!!.... but I only noticed one problem.... wtf happened to the car at 0:23 ???

  • they used a plastic cover over it to protect frm rain

  • The picture looks great, I would tell you to keep in mind the continuation. At 0:24 you see the car going by him and then you cut instantly but the car is not shown and the sounds fades off too quick. Im in the film business so I hope you dont take this comment the wrong way. I really like what you did with the image quality, keep it up. Thumbs up

  • @oKING0FNYo Dude, it's just test footage...

  • wtf this video is amazing what do you have used for the color correction :)

  • one of the best videos recorded with hv20 I ever seen

  • where is this place? country & city?

  • @gymamal It's called the suburbs.

  • Very nice video I LOVED it and im wondering the same as everyone else how did you protect your camera from the weather?

  • I'm not sure, did you do any editing in post? Such as rain, or was that real? and considering color correction?

  • where was this filmed? It looks like Tennessee but I could be wrong. It's just such a beautiful place.

  • The tracking in this is really good! Subtle but self aware, great job!

  • Not a very inconspicuous face

  • that was amazing.

  • Man this looks GREAT! If you cut the aspect ratio down even more this would be even more epic looking! Did you use a 35mm adapter on this?

  • justin needs to stick with the bowl hair this just doesnt fit.

  • Just one question: how'd you get Justin Bieber?!

  • Omg its justin Bieber

  • hey good loooking... haha you have real talent. i lvoe this!

  • SO DOPE! i love the fact that its just a test. keep up the good work.

  • hey man, cool vid, but please tell me, you use some color correction???? because looks like that,,,please answer me

  • hey, how did you film in the rain without your camera getting wet? haha i know its a stupid question but i wanna know what you used to block the rain.

  • its not much difficult but u lived a moment.looks cool man!

  • I thought this was going to break into Coldplay lyrics.

  • Very well done. How did you film in the rain?

  • love the over all feel of the vid, great picture:] i also love how when the car drove by the audio bled over for a second but it wasn't there lol good stuff!

  • how did you so the slo-mo? Does the HV20 record in 60p or did you slow it purely in an editing program?

  • amazing re u sure hv 20?post effect?premier?vegas?

  • what did you edit with and how did you get such good quality?

  • This is really good video, but i have one question is the Canon VIXIA HV20 the same as the canon hv20.

  • @pacmanlegend thanks

  • nice. really. great!

  • whats the title of the score?

  • First off i would like to say that i'm not gonna be a big ass and just critique it, cause its a great film. However i would say (all though that not might be right) that the 180 rule (which DOES apply to more than conversations, but yes it can be broken for effect and is not a definite rule) is broken, or right on the egde at the cut around 00:17-00:19

  • @Giffesnaffesnuffen

ummm wrong...the only line cross is at 00:29 - 00:31 the shot of his legs.

  • @christopherfilms2009

Umm wrong at 00:18 - 00:21 you can see him walking to the right then to the left

which is in my oppinion breaking the 180

  • @Giffesnaffesnuffen

Neutral shots like that really have no rule for screen direction, at 18 seconds we're behind the guy he is walking away from the camera, next shot is a profile and that shot could have been taken from either side, irrelevant.

  • how did u protected the camera from getting wet?

  • @LetzRideOrDie on amazon theres like an umbrella trypod thing, you screw it to the thread then you can use it without getting the camera wet, even dslr cameras

  • @LetzRideOrDie unbrella

  • @LetzRideOrDie I don't know what he did but I have a rain slick for my camera =) Its fine for light rain like this.

  • @LetzRideOrDie

    Come on!!! With an umbrella!!!!!!!!

  • this is amazing!

  • You broke the 180 rule one time. However great film

  • @Giffesnaffesnuffen you should think of the 180 rule as more of a suggestion. sometimes you may want to break it on purpose to create confusion. in this case it was broken for a different purpose but didn't confuse the audience and so its ok. Nobody says that you MUST follow the rule or else.............

  • @Giffesnaffesnuffen where is that rule broken, im new to it so i couldnt quite spot it

  • @Giffesnaffesnuffen What? The 180 rule only applies when someone is talking to another person..

  • How much does this camera cost?

i love the color! everythings so clear!!

  • wow that was beautiful :) i love the color

  • its not that amazing...? he exposed it nicely though and the colours are quite nice. my videos are shot with a hv30

  • lol at 0:10 your head is facing right and then at 0:11 it's suddenly facing left lol

  • ulook like justin bieber

  • This video is great! Shutter speed and color correction is perfect. Wondering about the slow motion bit though...

For anyone interested; check out the HV20's macro possibilites in my profile...

  • great - this is a camcorder, right? wow, thats truly amazing

  • I like this:)

    Good work.

  • this video made me interested in HD cameras lol... I MET THE GUY WHO SOLOMON SOLD THIS HV20 TOO.. IT WAS FUNNY CAUSE HE RANDOMLY WAS IN MY CLASS AT THE ART INSTITUTE OF ATLANTA. what a coincidence!!

  • I bought the hv20 because of this video but still i can't make nothing close to this :o(

  • You cannot make like this. Reason being the movies has been edited. There is majorly color correction which gives the fantastic final color rendering. U can use Sony vegas 9 for editing and experimentation

  • I have made few video and being edited is just I can't get the quality like this one after being edited. I just that I think I'm missing few steps I just didn't know was going to be much of a trick
