train wheels rods rigged

There seems to be an extreamly slight wobble on the wheels but i'm just picky, very well animated. How is the actual model rigged?

did you use waveform controller in curve editor, cuz thats the easiest way ive found so far

Could you please explain how to attach the side-rod to the wheels and animate the rod going round and round?
