It's a rough translate but hope it helps and more people can be her fans. I only knew about her few mins ago but I'm mesmerized by her flute performances and her professional attitude.
Practicing as just repeating the notes won't improve your skill. In order to express the feelings of the music you have to focus enough to not bothered by vacuum right next to you or people calling you. For me dawn is the best time (after 12am-) to practice.
6) What's the best musician? A) The best musician who touches people's hearts, is someone friendly and positive because the music expresses the musician's inner side/feeling.
influence a lot to one's life. So I want to make people realize how classical music can affect them a lot in various ways. I want people to experience it more by performing with various artists in different genres closer/more.
5) I visited your twitter and saw what you wrote "the premise of practice is to have an abnormal spirit" what does it mean? A) You have to be able to focus on music as if you're crazy/abnormal when other people look at you while you practice.
to make sure the sound won't go out. It's the size where you can barely fit in with the instrument and there was no light then I would practice til the dawn. Neighbors used to knock the walls a lot or write a letter to my house or call inter-phone(in apt) that it's too loud .
4) What's your principle when you play with pop pianist / performs popular music? A) As a classical musician, I wish a lot of people could interact with classical music closer. And even myself, I know classical music can
give the great performance because I believe music itself carries the musician's thoughts and ideas. I think the purpose of music is to express your inner side includes the bad thoughts by not simply throwing them away, but even embrace them and make them yours.
3) I know neighbors complain to be quiet when when you practice at home? Is it same to professional musicians too? A) Yes I sometimes go inside of small closet inside of my room to practice and I even put rubbers between the doors
I'll just briefly summarize what she said.. Her performance is wonderful and what she says is also good.
1) How's like summer in Cincinnati A) in summer it's a bit hotter than in Korea and in winter it's colder than Korea..So some musicians play with the instrument for outside only since it's humid in Summer.
2) What the best attitude for flutist(learning students) A) It's important to have a positive mind all the time. Just changing your mind to be positive only while you're the stage won't
Although I didn’t understand the words, I am glad to have watched this interview. I saw a great artist, a superb musician, answering all the questions with serenity and respect towards the interviewer and also her audience. Jasmine deserves all my admiration and reverence. The world is a better place to live on because of great personalities such as this fantastic flutist.
