  • cryengine 3 its a downgrade of cryengine 2 whit dx11

  • @cobrastomas its not downgraded..... the game was just downgraded use the engine and then you will know

  • This is the best engine ever!

  • prophet looks young d:

  • @MrALenCar321 Man in this video? No , He is Jester

  • @Tanatbenbenpoppop are you sure.?

  • @MrALenCar321 Yes ,I am sure.he is not prophet, prophet look much older than jester

  • cry engine 2 is still the best!! cry engine 3 has sme flaws

  • to be honest i cant actually see most of that graphical features in Crysis!!

  • do you see that even crytek cant run their own engine on very high in 2007 :D

  • Cryengine 2 has better environment detail. Cryengine 3 just looks shiny

  • its not as good as infinity

  • Why does he have a fuckin awesome armour set but NO FUCKING HELMET!!!???

I guess he's just like " Come and get owned by ma awesomeness MOFO's!!!!!!!!!"

  • It didn't say anything about the clouds... And half this stuff isn't even in cryengine 3

  • @Gosox2525 it is, just not for consoles....

  • @yyyyyyexe963 I know, but at the time i put that comment there had only been demos of the console version

  • real life graphic sucks >.<

  • What is 3D ocean technology?

  • @Ablequerq Like realistic waves and swells and stuff.

  • CryENGINE is so awesome it makes me cry!

  • True that

  • whats the price? i want to buy it

  • I think 500.00 but might have dropped a little after the release of cryengine 3. They do offer cryengine 3 for free for educational licenses.

  • thx. i wait for cryengine 3

    then it will be cheaper

  • ... exactly how mutch money do you have o_o? And the 500.00 was a typo (in american english it means just 500), it should have been 500.000 which in british english means half a million.

  • Do the british have change? i never visited the place

  • erh, wut? Could you give some more detail, change of what? and what place?

  • i mean currency. u have dollar bills, than do you have change?

  • SciFiMoviePro You fail Cryengine 3 is VERY VERY Advanced dumbass

  • @SciFiMoviePro

No, you see. If you want to make a game that you sell, then you have to buy it for 500,000 dollars. If you just want to make a game that you're not gonna sell and just show to people and whatnot, it comes with the game for free. Btw, when CE3 comes out, cryengine 2 is still gonna cost a few hundred thousand dollars bucko. It's still one of the best in the market... so good luck with that.

  • is this an independent engine or do you need to have bought a game before you can make enviornments. Eg : GECK needs fallout 3 to work ect.

  • so far the only game to use cryengine2 is crysis which comes with the cryengine2 that the developers actually used to make the levels etc

it's called sandbox and it's on the crysis disc

  • You need Crysis to work it.

  • unless licence it, u need the game for the sdk to work.

  • it was like atomic blast?

compare this to fallout 3 atomic bomb.

    ffs

    this is awesome!

  • That's the best animated explosion in a game I have ever seen. Great physics simulation of the shockwave.

  • damn cool look sooo real :)) well kind of

  • The editor will work on a 32 bit system as long as you shut off all the background junk, it needs all the RAM it can get.

  • Must get CT2 licence....

  • give it a few more years and we'll probably be playing holograms

  • nvidia 3d vision is out now

  • Lol, no recoil, one the hurricane? ;D

  • Wow! This is awesome, videogames have become a true art =D

But I can't help wondering how games will look like after ten years, considering the progress they have made from 1999...

  • YEAH finally we get it yes i'm going to be excatic when it comes to the 360!!!!!!!!!!:D

  • Where I can download crysis editor?

  • Yes it does come with Crysis, but it also works on 32-bit systems too. I think all CandyHam is saying is that it runs better on 64-bit systems.

  • is this engine in the first crysis game ?- or crysis warhead ???

  • The engine is used in both.

The new engine will be announced in GDC shortly.

  • this is just awesome, who need another generation of consoles fi cryengine 3 is coming for pc,ps3 and xbox 360. i mean this tecnology is just amazing. this make unreal tecnology 3 like a toy for starters compared to this.

  • lol, i'm starting to associate UE3 in my mind with crap graphic games like fear 1 and halo 2 already.

  • fear 1 graphics are vastly superior to fear 2 graphics in many ways, and it was the 'crysis' of it's time.. you shoulda seen the forum threads around back when it first came out, they look identical to the crysis ones xD

fear 2 = NO SHADOWS AT ALL!? I mean seriously!

sorry I just hated fear 2.. biggest waste of money ever :(

  • yeah that game wuz disappointing.

  • what, crysis? well, I didn't find it disappointing.. I liked it :)

now crysis WARHEAD.. that, was disappointing. Very short, and in some cases WORSE performance compared to the original and the cinematics were weird.. lots of weird loud sound effects and no dialogue in most of them, like they were unfinished or something.

  • oh no, i meant i hated fear 2, I love crysis. I hated warhead tho, it wasn't much fun.

  • yeah I hated fear 2 as well, my friend bought it and I had a go, got through the whole game in 2 afternoons at his house (like about a week apart)

warhead was a bit medeocre I found as well.. but it was okay. the cinematics as I've said, sucked, they looked unprofessional and downright weird

  • Because FEAR 1 was designed as a PC game first and FEAR 2 as a console game, it was dumbed down compared to its predecessor. Damn consolization of games!

  • yeah god damn consoles

or god damn crappy game makers for not porting it properly.

  • @jkkljkkl9292 both.

but warhead uses a optimazed version.

  • @jkkljkkl9292

farcry - cryengine crysis and crysis warhead - cryengine 2 crysis 2 - cry engine 3

  • WTF i have never seen like that system

    Crytek my favouirite

  • CryEngine 3 Coming Soon AND ITS COMING TO PS3 AND XBOX 360 AND PC :D

  • Cryengine 3 is going to be demoed at GDC next week, for pc AND CONSOLES!

  • Sweet now I just need to shill out about $3000 for a new computer that can handle it!

  • No, last years computers will run fine on CryEngine 3, considering its going to be ported to consoles. lol

Damn consoles, always the ball-n-chain of us PCers.

  • this is obviously pre rendered

  • Nope. You obviously never played Crysis. This is all true. :D

  • obviously i actually own crysis and it may look somewhat like this but the real time ambient mapping is pre rendered

  • Maybe you're not running it at full quality. This pretty much looks the same to me, but the quality of the image might have been increased on the small screen on the video. Maybe that's what you're seeing.

  • the amount of calculations for ambient mapping to be real time would be so enormous it would require near super computer amount of proccesing power considering were just now reaching maybe 20 dynamic lights in a scene

  • I really see no difference. In fact, I run the game a med-high specs with no anti-aliasing. This looks the same, but that's just my opinion.

  • lol yea man, diz is in-game.

  • Are you being sarcastic or do you mean it?

  • lol i mean it ! i m a crysis fan btw, lol.

  • I can confirm.

I run Crysis maxed out (minus AA though) and it looks even slightly better then that.

Though 0:43 isn't as ingame and it probably would be far to heavy for that. It has these godrays, but not like that. I was sort of disappointed not to have those battles though..

The game does look much better than 1:20 And though the game has the best depth of field I've seen yet, it isn't like 1:58

Neither have I seen the physics of 2:57

Everything else is all in game. Same or better.

  • 2:57 was taken out of the game due to cpu strain 1;58 was changed cause it didnt look real 0:43 is still in the alpha code 1:20 is what they still use

  • I have to say, that's the best reaction I've read on Youtube for a long, long time.

At first, I was slightly disappointed with Crysis, graphics wise. As I didn't get to see things like 1:58 and 0:43 But then even without all that, the game looks just stunningly beautiful. Still love it. Still playing it now and then and it beats the shit out of Far Cry 2 (which I didn't even play past 2/3.

  • actually farcry 2 in many respects is better than crysis considering it runs on most computers maxed while crysis the average computer runs low to medium and farcry maxed looks better than crysis on low or medium : )

  • Meh, I found Far Cry 2 to look far too generic. Other then that, I think Crysis medium looks better than Far Cry maxed. Crysis looks pretty darn shitty on low though. But lets assume you can max things out, Crysis beats it hands down. And when it comes to gameplay, it does too.

I love the AI of Crysis, but Far Cry 2 looks like alpha code AI or something like that. Just isn't wright at all. NOLF 2 even had better AI.

  • i found crysis had many particle errors and frame rate dips even running my awesome system comparitivly the map maker is much easier in farcry 2 and crysis mods are an upside but... im still gonna have to say crysis feels like an unoptimized piece of trash

  • Might just be for your system. I run Crysis with everything very high at 1680 x 1050 and it all runs pretty stable. Very rarely get any framedrops, and when I do, they seem to be just pretty random (like, not during explosions, but just suddenly while standing still). All in all it runs very stable.

I actually find Crysis to be optimized very well if you look at the amount of shaders it uses. I'm amazed it doesn't need like 1 sec per frame. While Far Cry 2 just seems to use plain textures.

  • But more than the graphics, it's gameplay that's important. Something that Far Cry 2 just fails at, hard.

I like the gameplay of Crysis a lot, but Far Cry 2 just couldn't keep me interested. The AI just sucked so much ass, I just couldn't keep on playing it.

  • one of the most amazing things i've ever seen, let people who hate on games because they know nothing about them see this, they know they'd love to try it out!

  • Facial Animation part just owns!

  • They should use this on GTA IV this CryEngine 2.

  • Would be cool, but seeing that GTA IV is like 15 gigs with the graphics it's using now, using the CryEngine 2 for the entire GTA IV world would make the game enormous and extremely hard, if not impossible, to keep without lags.

  • GTA IV relies, like all GTA games, on thousands of raw textures. Crysis uses the same textures over and over again with nice bumpmaps and the like. Much more dynamic, instead of the standard slap over model textures that GTA IV uses.

  • I loled at 2:22.

  • the best engine...

    2ªunrelengine

    Gta iV engine? suck!!

  • Lol, no.

  • el crisis real no tiene las misma graficas que en el video jamas

  • woot!

  • wow it looks better than unreal engine 3 .

  • sadly thats true

  • What the hell kind of supercomputer was Crytek testing their engine on? It runs so smoothly...

  • not 1 computer but 2 you see most of these demos are made rendered on several pc's linked together thats why it runs so smoothly

  • its pre-renderd, even you could get 200 fps video, just the rendering takes a loooong time :(

  • @ICommentonVideo not 2 computers 1/2 a computer if you have a beast enough one or even 1/8 of a computer if you have a ridiculously beast desktop but i imagine they use 2 computers so if one fails they won't look like idiots at a presentation

  • @ICommentonVideo Actually it was probably done on a single or 2 pcs. They would've had the best intel quad at the time with an nvidia tesla card or w/e. Not sure if nvidia called them tesla back then, but yeah, the game can run that smooth on a single pc XD

  • if super computers can predict war outcomes over the next decade, i think they can render a little game...

  • that action of predicting a war outcome isn't so damanding

  • compared to rendering a computer game?

  • lmao @ 2.22+

anyways, cryengine2 is sick shit, especially the nuclear bomb.

if they just could make the psyhics and breakable stuff to the online game... holy shit.

i wouldn't spend my time on anything else anymore lmfao.

except that my laptop cant run 10% of it lol.

  • awesome.

  • Another engine.

  • I would prefer not, I am not gay, but what is the reasson for fucking me?

  • that comeback is too old and too used son... try coming up with something more original next time. Btw I really do not care who is right or wrong your guy's bickering

  • Yeah but i just dont understand why he says "fuck u" to me. What did i do wrong? I only said that Crysis wont come out on consoles, but the game Far Cry 2 with an other engine (frrom which i think it is better) will do so! Thats why posted that comment, because I thought he was a stupid asshole. And I also dont need you to say my comments suck, so mind your own business.

  • dude, even crytek admitted that CryENGINE 2 is the best they've made yet

  • Maybe that is because Crytek didnt made this engine, Ubisoft did.

  • dude, wtf are you talking about, Crytek made the engine, not ubisoft, or else it wouldn't have the word "Cry" in it like all the other crytek games, far cry used the first CryEngine for Far Cry so obviously they made the second.

  • DUNIA ENGINE

The Dunia Engine was built specifically for Far Cry® 2 by the award-winning Ubisoft Montréal development team. It delivers the most realistic destructible environments, amazing special effects such as dynamic fire propagation and storm effects, real-time night-and-day cycle, dynamic music system, non-scripted enemy A.I. and so much more...

  • maybe you should do your homework "Crytek has partnerships with Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, NVIDIA, Intel, AMD, FMOD, Scaleform, Xoreax, Sparkasse Coburg, and Rating Services." the dunia engine was made by Ubisoft using some scripts from the first CryEngine, but the Original(& CryEngine2) were developed by Crytek

  • Then why do they say on the official FarCry 2 site that it is made by Ubisoft?

  • You shouldnt talk about me not doing my homework idiot, read this, its from Wikipedia:

"Ubisoft has developed a new engine specifically for Far Cry 2, called Dunia, meaning "world" or "earth" in Hindi.[3] The engine will take advantage of multi-core processors and support DirectX 9 as well as DirectX 10.[4] Only 2 or 3 percent of the original CryENGINE code is being re-used, according to Michiel Verheijdt, Senior Product Manager for Ubisoft Netherlands.[5]"

  • i am aware of that, i got most of my info from wikipedia

  • And this, its from Dutch Wikipedia, translated by me:

"Far Cry 2 is a FPS in development by Ubisoft Montreal and will be published by Ubisoft. It is the sequel of Far Cry which is developed by Crytek. Crytek isn't involved by the development of Far Cry 2, since it sold all of its rights to Ubisoft."

  • crytek sold them all the rights, including the right to USE their game engine

  • BTW, did you realize I was talking about the Dunia engine? I readed these comments again, and it could be that you misunderstood me when I said that 'this' engine is made by Ubisoft. I was talking about the Dunia engine, of course I know that CryEngine and CryEngine 2 are made by Crytek, but the Dunia engine isnt. Thats what I have been trying to say.

  • & why exactly are you talking about the dunia engine when i've been exclusively talking about the CryENGINE

  • this video makes my peepee hard.

  • i hope they release crysis for the 360 =) and make some awesome games for the 360 with the CryEngine 2

  • They wont, but they will use the even better Dunya engine on FarCry 2, which will come out on xbox360 too

  • I love that engine. But C4 Engine is even better!

  • no ?!?

  • this engine requires a PC from the future!!! it's crazy with hardware requirements

  • Well, the fastest cards we have are all based off of a card that was released in November 2006, so blame the slow hardware development, not Crytek's amazing talent at bringing us "beyond next gen," but it still runs good on "Very High" in DX10 on an 8800gt ($220) at 1024x768. :)

  • i agree

    nice comment :) !!

  • Can it work for RPG's & is it a no programming engine?....oh, right! Does it have an exporter to maya?

  • Trying to find out the same thing.

  • Crysis is like another Far Cry so if anybody here is a Far Cry fan Crysis is the game for you with addition of a better save system and graphics then Far Cry.

  • First thing I thought of when I saw that chain gun cutting down the forest was Predator, would be a kick ass game with that engine. Looks like an upgraded unreal engine.

  • what console is this gonna be on?

  • Crytek Engine will be used on PC/Xbox360/PS3

The footage you are seeing above is from Crysis which is a PC only game. It's currently out.

  • i wonder if unreal egine is better

  • It's not....

  • i think it is on certain games that use unreal egine like gears of war and bioshock. this egine is great fps game gotta love crysis

  • Well play Crysis for a few hours then go back to play GoW and you'll notice the textures aren't all that great (then again the game is a year old now), and this game and bioshock are on 2 completely different leagues (although Bioshock probably has better water effects). Unreal 3 Engine has great potential but in my opinion UT3 vs Crysis, Crysis wins the graphics competition hands down.

  • If you're considering looks, yes. Machinery in Crysis was just a simple "ugh" to me, but that's probably due to simple design, not engine flaws.

I think I would side with Unreal for now just because of its optimization. I can run in on lower-end PC's, and Crysis just can't compete against that (Then again, that's because it's that awesome).

I'd go for Unreal now, because most systems can handle it, and it looks good. I worship CryENGINE 2, though.

  • This video is not from the demo, it is from the GDC demo. Game Developer's Conference.

  • when is it gonna come out it looks really good

  • Novemeber 16 of this year. I can't wait ^ ^

  • Bon dieu ! Zanorg ! Ton blog balance un de ces trafics !! Feature une de mes videos !! :p

  • Test2

  • Test

  • Agreed, can't wait till Crysis is released.

  • I Love Crytek
