old horses do NOT need to look like that anyway - they either need MORE food, special food, worming, or tooth care. you don't see old people and other mammals looking like that - it's totally a LACK of CARE - very common in Bastrop County unfortunately
Thank you so much for helping them. This video had me in tears. I am glad there are people like you there to help them. Are you a pivate rescue or a large group over the US? I would love to find a rescue locally to volunteer with a bit. I spend to much time with my two horses. I think they are getting sick of me. LOL
why is the background vegetation(food) blurred in this video? There is a large bale of hay in the first shot and the horses are not eating it. Are the horses old? Many times older horses are thin because they are old, not being starved. The sorrel and white appaloosa was not thin. Perhaps the horses needed a different veterinarian to give the owners advice. If the horses had uneaten hay and grass in the pen maybe something else was wrong.
@zorrospal The hay bale was new, put there to attempt to avoid a seizure after the investigation was started. In court, HfH obtained all the animals, including the two dogs, after proving lack of care. The owner's vet did not testify.
Thanks for your kind and rational reply. I would like to see more pics of horses before and after rescue. You can keep that in mind for the skeptics. My dog had cancer and I kept him alive much longer than the veterinarians thought possible, he wagged his tail but wow was he thin before we finally put him down. Of course I had a veterinarian and many receipts for health bills to prove I was giving care. Thank you for looking out for animals.
@zorrospal I believe they had such long inbetween for eatting they can only eat a little at first.Like you or I with out food we get ill eatting normal. If we had not eatten for a long time. You get gas and nausa, etc.Horses can not vomit. They can die if not carefull.I think the hay came but not there very long. They ate theire fill for now.Way starved.Poor things.
OMG Jerry these horses were so thin and the dogs look so happy to see any one!Bless you for getting them out of there.I can not understand how some one can sit inside to eat a big meal knowing what is suffering in their own yard!

Why even have dogs if you throw them outside in a pen?
