The fact of the matter is that anyone with proper training can learn to sing properly and "on key", but there is a big difference from learning how to sing and having a beautiful voice with great range. Zooey is an average singer at best with very limited vocal range. If you take away the fact that she's well known in Hollywood circles, I doubt any producer would give her the time of day. And who outside of San Francisco ever knew who M. Ward was before he teamed up with Zooey?

For heaven's sake it is not out of tune (some people were saying she's out of tune). I know she & him has a signature sound that greatly incorporates reverb, but there's way too much. and the bgv's percussion instruments are way too loud. when i saw them live, they were fantastic and there were no issues like this at all...i'm angry this may be some people's only impression of them if they watched this live
