I saw this movie in world geography and at first i didnt care about africa but what they go through just makes me feel that im so lucky to live in america and have a house food and clothes and that the united states is an asshole for not helping africa
I watched this today and that scene where the nuns and the children came running to the hotel seeking shelter and the U.S. refusing to evacuate the kids made me cry
This was a horrible thing that happen (in my eyes should have never happen) but I believe that jesus/god makes everything happen for a reason and this had to happen to open peoples eyes. God bless everyone!
@carmelokm Maybe legally. But for centuries men referred to that island in the Northeast Atlantic as England and the Empire encouraged that perspective. Further, bluntly, England, and esp. London, is "the one ring to rule them all." and has been since about 1707. Under its crown, all the others were subordinated and so the condition continues to the present-there is no King of Scotland, Wales, or Cornwall. The Plantagenets, Tudors, and William III made sure of that.
@shadowkitty56 True set of facts right there....but the Scottish,Irish and welsh don't really like that idea(English identity suppressing British Identity).....thats one of the reasons Scotland might leave the Uk......i'm just saying
I first heard this song from Hotel Rwanda, amazing.
As for humans, it's best we aren't on earth, look like what we made of the amazing earth, animals could take care of themselves, take this into consideration, seeing as Im a strong Christian
i recently watched Hotel Rwanda in my AP human Geography class for the end of the year i am 14 and i could not sit through this movie especially when the children were being attacked it made me think that american kids have it all the homless children even have some sort of access but these kids during the genocide had no access the french left the UN left for a while these kids all they could do is cry and die and watch there love ones die in front of them these kids are heros and soilders
this song used to get me through the tough times. i'd listen to this song when i didnt feel like studying and i'd go right to work, remembering who i was working for, ppl like this. any time my father abused me i would remember i was living my life souly for these ppl i would one day help. it got me through life. but now my faith hope is gone. i was homeless and i am not in school. i want to help ppl still but idk what to do. i thought if i worked hard it would all work out. but idk what to do!
@TruthSeeker4000 Well, yes, it would have been more phonetically correct to just say that it was a language from the African country Rwanda, but similarly, people say 'European languages', it's the same thing, is it not? As Rwanda is part of Africa, technically anything originating from it, is African, by definition.
saw this movie in modern world and wen this song was played i cried so much. this is such a great moviea and the story is just a tragic but i pray for them
Guess what guys. Genocide is going on as we speak. In Sudan .yeah it's sad as fuck how the same shit is going on mass murder. I wish the US would get involved but it won't :(
@ImJake50 Obviously, as we learn't in Hotel Rwanda, the people who run the World, thats right, the world, they are corrupt mother fuckers, they just deserve to burn in hell
I love this song. Thank you for posting it. The African language that you are hearing is called Kinyarwanda and it is the native language of Rwandans.
I finished watching Hotel Rwanda in History today....it might just be the saddest movie I've ever watched....in fact, I think it is. The children singing towards the end of the movie made me cry. I didn't know what the words meant at the time but it sounded so beautiful and sad. I hope that history won't repeat itself. Hasn't the world learned that genocides are horrible. I hope the world knows that.
to me this song is an insult to all africans! it's as if he's trying 2 understand what they were going through and just not makin it. Love the kids part though it is a nice song
@angelbooky2255 =) i'm glad to hear that....at first i thought it was the same thing, but when i went to africa...they wanted peace upon every country. It's just there are no upstanders in africa
Everybody likes to throw all the guilt in the hands of the elite people in the world like they didn't do nothing wrong. Fuck the elite. How about us? Each and any one of us?... How does our ignorance and selfishness is not as bad as those who we point fingers at?... Open your eyes... we carry the blame. WE! @Simdiane Yes, I know and still the song would be much better without him, just beautiful voices of african children ;D His singing removes that special atmosphere of the song that those children create and makes it sound like just any another commercial pop-reggae song...
even when the genocide was happening none of the countries including the USA actually recognized it because if they recognized it as a genocide they wold be compelled by the geneva convention to stop it. none of the politicians thought that the lives of 800,000 rwandans were worth possibly losing an election. shows that humans can be really hypocritical.
You hypocrites, every last one of you. You argue amongst yourselves about whos to blame. The point is that it happened. About 800,000 people were killed in 100 days in Rwanda. Sure, the Europeans could have created some ethnic tensions but the point is that they still hated each other. Neighbours killed neighbours. That shouldnt happen, anywhere. A genocide happened. It doesnt matter whos to blame. The fact that we, human beings are capable of such an atrocity makes me sick.
@1lillyofthevalley "Everyone who knows anything about the recent african genocides knows that they were caused by differences that Europeans created among Africans."
What you have said is complet horseshit! African Tribes for thousands upon thousands of years had been engaging in tribal warfare LONG before Europeans even knew how the form agriculture. Fuck you are your anti-white bullshit!
africa will retrieve all the suffering, despair, suffering, hunger, children are dying and not only! Africa has a debt of 224 billion euros for all countries who demanded money, those selfish countries who think only about themselves. even a beggar on the streets of New York or England live better than a person in africa! stop being selfish we must think in these people who have nothing to eat, one single grain of rice!
@14Mylla You are a dick! Most of those countries in Africa are run by Dictatorships who could give to shits about their own people as long all that foreign aid money is being sent their bank account and make them rich with wealth and power. Just look at what people like Robert Mugabe and the ANC have done to their OWN countries ever since the colonialists were kicked out. Not everything the Europeans colonialists did was right or ethically, BUT niether is what many African leaders do.
@LordMalice6d9 first, you do not have to insult anyone here, you have no right. second, my opinion no one takes it. Third, do not have to speak as if you knew more than others. you said to @ 1lillyofthevalley that wars in africa are caused by Europeans. and then? what I said in my comment? 're a dick
this song makes me cry so much :'( of course africa can be united states of Africa. it can be only a dream, but when i grow up and start working i'll gather all my money and send it to africa, the continent from which I descended, despite not having been born there, but my parents were born, and that makes me a proud AFRICAN!
let this be a valuable lesson for everybody in this shattered world of corruption and violence~may we all learn from the past and have the humanity to learn and make sure things like this NEVER happen again. god bless you
my people me we are all descendants from the mother land we as human beings put this planet by GOD and this is how we treat her by covering her in blood from genocide my hate that fuels me for all the wrong thats been done to my people to all ppl if we don't learn from are hate we surely be destroyed by it like the hutus and tutsis were we must come as one
I watched hotel rwanda and at the end when this song started, I busted out into tears, amazing song it's just sad they were stricken with such a genocide and got no help
Beautiful song, beautiful country, beautiful people. I pray that history never repeats itself, and all those who suffered, or are still suffering from their losses are healed their pain.
@heavensrightaboveit There is a ungoing Genocide in Sudan right now, the Congo and in many other places in the world. Where is international help? Do people even care?
I guess Humanity is just to selfish and ignorant to help one another.
Million Voices hold thier HANDS dont let go or they will DIE...
Im sorry....their in heaven a better place having fun not worrying bout anything...their worries are gone! God thank you for fighting with them! I Pray for a better Day always!(: They Live in a BEAUTIFUL spirtual Country there smiles are angles beside them...their BEAUTIFUL language..speaks to GOD as beautiful souls from thee are in heavan already! We hear YOUR CRYS!! we are sorry we couldnt do anything but...we PRAY for ur HOME!(:
@JustinBieberFreakk1 actually, their souls are still wandering in rwanda.... people have reported that many souls of those who were brutally killed in the genocide reside in rwanda and hope to be enlightened some day .....
I saw this about the movie hotel rwanda in the description.. whats so bad about that? Do you even know how bad the geneocide was in Rwanda, how no one helped, including us, all we did was sit on our lazy asses while they were killing each other over there.
@VoL7aGeX same thing i waz doing writing an article for my L.A class and i found hotel rwanda and i watched the movie.... very sad and i decided to do my article about it...
I hate seeing these Africans suffer day after day while we in America sit in our homes all comfortable and have no worries. I am gonna help them and give them the love they need. Not enough people care for them and they remain hopeless. Africa is a beautiful country with beautiful people and language. Mungu kuwa ni Afrika, ili mateso ya kusitisha
How can this be happening to Africa? It's people are always so friendly. I got to see the Watoto choir and they were all like Angels... Come to think of it I can't think of a single black person I've ever met who I didn't like! It's not fair. May Holy God deliver all Africans from these hard times.
I know this will cause anger but if you believe in God you need to watch this movie! I cannot believe in a all powerful being that would allow for something like this to happen.
@zbac1 I can. There were many Rwandans who were in the middle of it all and still held onto God for strength and courage. How do you explain them? People who lost everything still calling on God?
If anything Rwanda genocide is what happens when people REJECT God's ways. It becomes hell.
Heck the song is CALLING OUT TO JESUS.
Those genocide mongers who tried to incite the tribes against each other were as godless as they get like Nazi Germany.
@Glyre777 please don't talk cause you know just because these poor people got killed does not mean that we should say that god is a fake and he isn't there so don't talk that is something stupid that was said with you and the other guy cause you know what i am better than the man that i critcized because i am sure that god is mad at him for saying that and mad at you for trying to act like you know everything and admit that america and the world is no better than you and the hutus
@patrickmrooney just shut up man this is the work of the stupid hutus and america and the rest of the world is no better than the hutus just sitting there and watching the tutsis getting killed so god was there he was waiting for the fags called america and the rest of the world to respond so don't ever say that you must have no god to say that so just shut up man!

africa will retrieve all the suffering, despair, suffering, hunger, children are dying and not only! Africa has a debt of 224 billion euros for all countries who demanded money, those selfish countries who think only about themselves. even a beggar on the streets of New York or England live better than a person in africa! stop being selfish we must think in these people who have nothing to eat, one single grain of rice!
14Mylla 1 year ago
@14Mylla You are a dick! Most of those countries in Africa are run by Dictatorships who could give to shits about their own people as long all that foreign aid money is being sent their bank account and make them rich with wealth and power. Just look at what people like Robert Mugabe and the ANC have done to their OWN countries ever since the colonialists were kicked out. Not everything the Europeans colonialists did was right or ethically, BUT niether is what many African leaders do.
LordMalice6d9 1 year ago

Beautiful song, beautiful country, beautiful people. I pray that history never repeats itself, and all those who suffered, or are still suffering from their losses are healed their pain.

I saw this about the movie hotel rwanda in the description.. whats so bad about that? Do you even know how bad the geneocide was in Rwanda, how no one helped, including us, all we did was sit on our lazy asses while they were killing each other over there.

This is one of the most beautiful songs. A lamentation and prayer for a nation.
Jesus bless Rwanda and continually restore her scars and sustain her people.
TazHall 1 year ago
I know this will cause anger but if you believe in God you need to watch this movie! I cannot believe in a all powerful being that would allow for something like this to happen.
zbac1 1 year ago
