It's called transition. You have to crawl before you walk. In order for WSSU to become that "powerhouse" band they want to be they have to take it slow. This halftime show proved that they are capable. Each band had their ups & downs. It wasn't a competition, no one was being judged, it was pure entertainment. So why make a big deal out of it? And you're watching it via Youtube, sound quality plays a role here. But, whatever. Good job A&T and WSSU
I see that Jackson State's "Sonic Boom" old assistant director is doing well with this band. They are doing so well.... In a few years you're not going to tell this band nothing... LOL.... The only thing that I disliked was the dancers' outfit.... get them some Sexy J-sette looking outfits because these look ghetto!
2. The flag corps - KILLER routine!!!! I see they got some corp style training....... drop spins, push spins, heilcopter, around the world, butterfly, and most impressively the 2 and 3 revolution tosses........you don't see most HBCU flag corps doing that!!! 2 thumbs from me.
3. Scarlet Lace: The ripple at the beginning of "Thriller" - I LOVE IT!!! lol
4. Red Sea of Sound - GREAT SOUND!!! I am impressed......hope that I can be able to join the ranks...
Wow, im shocked! I rep A&T, but i have to give credit when its due...WSSU has really improved....but i think Golden Delight did better then WSSU's dancers....its really hard to decided who did better, cause they both did very well!
I little story. I attended WSSU back in 1984-1986. I was the only student from So. Calif ( a long story). Anyway, that band rocked then and I see it still rocks today. Big House Gains was still alive when I attended. I am 6'5" and I remember him towering over me with those huge hands! The women back then were just off the chain. I hate I did not stay. I miss those NC women.

This was a nice performance for WSSU but NCCU has the best field performances out of all HBCUs especially when it comes to tributes. With the exception of famus big-ass, NCCU is the best at entertainment sad they changed announcers.

you crazy as hell if u want to go to WSSU. your limiting yourself if you do if you want to be honest. A&T is far more superior. Plus you will get a chance to have real competition (NSU,BCU,FAMU) . Which those battles go back and forth on who comes out on top. which is what makes it great. Ex... A&T vs NSU.. it flip flops almost every year.

We're still playing A&T even though we're transitioning back to the CIAA. It'll just be a non conference game, just like us and NCCU. It might have the potential to turn into a classic looking at the outcome of fans and supporters coming to the game. It's a nice little rivalry if I do say so myself.
And about the CIAA??? It's not the division, it's the quality of the band...getcha mind right...SHAW is a good CIAA band...they'll crank on the Rusty Bucket in a heartbeat...a&T= overrated and y'all live off the name...Red Sea= WE put in the work, and it showed...

Number one, this was a Micheal Jackson tribute...so a basically, a big dance routine, why the hell was A&T's show so lacking...the WHOOOOLE stadium was quiet when A&T was on, however, when we did our thing, it was the complete opposite...wtf??? Y'all show was wacc...ours was entertaining...fine 10 ppl and 5 dms...so what...y'all drummajors wasn't talkin about shit either...so whatever...we sounded better looked better and was just better all around...
I must thank all who give there non biased opinion on these videos. Truth is that each band has their own style and presence in shows and music. Just because it's not what you're used to seeing or not what you agree to doesn't make it bad. Both bands had their ups and downs of the whole game but it was a good performance from both schools. This is coming from one of the dm's at WSSU.
Let me add my.....WSSU did a great show. Big improvement from last year. Welcome to the Meac however A&T is not the band for WSSU to compete against b/c sound wise, show wise, musical, drill, arrangements, and balance, A&T got wssu. WSSU could probably blow out NCCU but not A&T.
Another thing, yall are not FAMU or Bethune Cookman... Y the hell do yall have 5 Drum Majors for 10 members in a band... Yall don't even have that many people in yall band... WSSU did have a good half time. It was full of energy however over all through out the whole game and 5th QT I am sorry A&T takes the win. and that is not to say WSSU did not do a good job. At the end of the day A&T have bigger fish to fry. i.e NSU.

WSSU was way more in tune , had original arrangements . A&T had size and sounded nothing like the A&T bands ive heard in the past. And the "scarlet divas" looked way better than the chicks from A&T

Hmm well here go my two cents on the half time videos..If u dont like what I said then whoop dee doo..Yes WSSU has improved and im glad that they did BUT when it came to watching both halftimes I wasnt all that impressed...To me it was like watching people try to show out on each other and thats not entertaining to me...It just seem like they were both trying to be the best instead of just having fun...Overall both good shows...There was some unnecessary things that could have been taken out

And a regular joe like me in the stands don't know a thing about drills or what ever, I am not a judge this is not official. I do agree we need to do more COMPLEX drills. However I think we only had 80 ppl that was ACTUALLY drilling. We could add the drumline but we would only be able to add like 16 ppl...4 company fronts, 5 squads each, 4 ppl each squad...do the math! It may be that we are limited because of our size.

ECSU, FSU and numerous other schools have done full drills with less people than WSSU . .. u know thats why your called a MARCHING BAND. dont come wit excuses. WSSU had better DANCE ROUTINE. But over all show A&T performance was much better. WSSU when you actually do a drill then you can gain more props for your performance. But much improvement !!

WSSU is a great HBCU. I loved it.
Just make sure when you attend college, you get involved and join clubs (band, greeks, NAACP, etc) and do internships.
Make HBCU life more fun and worth while.

I agree. There is a difference between powerhouse and big name. Schools like SCSU, Famu, and BCU are big names. Schools like NSU and JSU are powerhouses. WSSU is neither one. And that is so true

We're still playing A&T even though we're transitioning back to the CIAA. It'll just be a non conference game, just like us and NCCU. It might have the potential to turn into a classic looking at the outcome of fans and supporters coming to the game. It's a nice little rivalry if I do say so myself.

And about the CIAA??? It's not the division, it's the quality of the band...getcha mind right...SHAW is a good CIAA band...they'll crank on the Rusty Bucket in a heartbeat...a&T= overrated and y'all live off the name...Red Sea= WE put in the work, and it showed...

Number one, this was a Micheal Jackson tribute...so a basically, a big dance routine, why the hell was A&T's show so lacking...the WHOOOOLE stadium was quiet when A&T was on, however, when we did our thing, it was the complete opposite...wtf??? Y'all show was wacc...ours was entertaining...fine 10 ppl and 5 dms...so what...y'all drummajors wasn't talkin about shit either...so whatever...we sounded better looked better and was just better all around...

I must thank all who give there non biased opinion on these videos. Truth is that each band has their own style and presence in shows and music. Just because it's not what you're used to seeing or not what you agree to doesn't make it bad. Both bands had their ups and downs of the whole game but it was a good performance from both schools. This is coming from one of the dm's at WSSU.

Let me add my.....WSSU did a great show. Big improvement from last year. Welcome to the Meac however A&T is not the band for WSSU to compete against b/c sound wise, show wise, musical, drill, arrangements, and balance, A&T got wssu. WSSU could probably blow out NCCU but not A&T.

I see though y yall have that many. Yall want to look good so they make yall look good cause thats probly the only thing that is good in yalls band. Another thing, where the hell was the drill at? All yall did was make one formation and the rest was a dance routine... wow! I am so not impressed! Go AGGIES! Good luck tomorrow! WSSU did have a good half time. It was full of energy however over all through out the whole game and 5th QT I am sorry A&T takes the win. and that is not to say WSSU did not do a good job. At the end of the day A&T have bigger fish to fry. i.e NSU.

WSSU was way more in tune , had original arrangements . A&T had size and sounded nothing like the A&T bands ive heard in the past. And the "scarlet divas" looked way better than the chicks from A&T

Not because I am an Aggie but because I am a musician...you music was very high school-ish....if this were Carver I would have been impressed....you guys did put out some sound in the stands...on the field it was a bit dry...I must say you guys did do a good job though...THUMBS UP to the lower brass... this is what posting is about...Trash talk and then recognition....good job winston but A&T show was better to me...

Hmm well here go my two cents on the half time videos..If u dont like what I said then whoop dee doo..Yes WSSU has improved and im glad that they did BUT when it came to watching both halftimes I wasnt all that impressed...To me it was like watching people try to show out on each other and thats not entertaining to me...It just seem like they were both trying to be the best instead of just having fun...Overall both good shows...There was some unnecessary things that could have been taken out

wssu you knew what to do to get the crowd moving. we may be small but we will not be forgotten. And a regular joe like me in the stands don't know a thing about drills or what ever, I am not a judge this is not official. I was very proud of my band. take it for what it was, A&T won the game WSSU had half time. point blank yall can blame it on the the amount of songs we played or how we dance but last time I checked that should be included in the band package.

I do agree we need to do more COMPLEX drills. However I think we only had 80 ppl that was ACTUALLY drilling. We could add the drumline but we would only be able to add like 16 ppl...4 company fronts, 5 squads each, 4 ppl each squad...do the math! It may be that we are limited because of our size.

thats not a valid excuse. Benedict has drilled wit 60 people. ECSU, FSU and numerous other schools have done full drills with less people than WSSU . .. u know thats why your called a MARCHING BAND. dont come wit excuses. WSSU had better DANCE ROUTINE. But over all show A&T performance was much better. WSSU when you actually do a drill then you can gain more props for your performance. But much improvement !!
