  • Not bad, but absolutely nothing compared to the Everly Brothers.

  • I've played gigs with john allison, he lives down the road from me and can still rock the crowds!

  • /watch?v=t348e24vDyA

  • Thanks for the chance to re-live this track

  • The first single my dad ever bought. I was doomed to be a Eurovision fan from the start. Love it!

  • What are they doing now? Remember Eurovision was highlight of black and white tv year. Was allowed to stay up late to watch! Great song - great harmonies. Doesn't the smaller one on left look uncomfortable!

  • We rarely won it, bloody foreigners lol

  • @DoctorScrumpy Hate to contradict, but we did win it five times. Only Ireland have done it more.

Only problem is, the last time was 1997. And let's face it, we haven't done much since...

  • @Woollylinnet You hate to contradict me ? You can't be related to my wife then lol

  • Anyone got the track Lightning Express from the album Are You Sure.

If you have could you please post.

Far better than the Everly Brothers version

  • @eurocharter Well I have just posted this for you, as this is my first posting I am not sure if it will be accepted or not, but keep an eye out for it.

  • The one on the left (Bob, I think) looks SO nervous. Bless him.

  • What a lovely song and the lads, sleek! I was born in 1961. Eurovision had great entries then, unlike nowadays, which are not very European!!!

  • I love that harmony.

  • prototypes for the jonas brothers

  • There is something charming and naive about their performance. Nice song.

  • Still so wonderful. Have always loved this and always will. Those wonderful harmonies always stand out among the rest and put the Beatles in the shade for me.

  • Sounds like doubble Buddy Holly :-)

  • very buddy holly, great.

  • Nobody notices the sad lyrics?

  • in the early 60s i came second in a talent show singing this song and i still love it will be playing it on my radio show next week

  • sent this to my soulmate hev but think she was sure ; (

  • Nice song....but the brothers do not compare to Don & Phil Everly.

  • The best song from the UK to enter the competition, well, probably ever. Kind of a British Everley Brothers.

  • @madmax8903 I thought the EXACT thing - "British Everly Brothers". (There was also a Dutch brother duo called "the Blue Diamonds" who even covered Everly songs.)

  • Who won that year?

  • @andorionstar luxembourg with the song nous les amoureux which means we the lovers :D performed by jean claude pascal

  • i cry at this for reasons known to heather

  • sent t his to my soulmate in the hope she would realise i was the one

  • sent this to my soulmate in the hope she would realise i was the one for her

  • Thank God the Beatles saved us from this kind of CRAP...

  • they were robbed, as cliff richard was in 1968!!!!!

  • They're adoreable! But the lyrics are really sinister in the middle... I didn't notice at first bacuse of the butter-wouldn't-melt smiles!

  • Who'd have thought it, The Allisons advocating the murder of a cheating partner! ;-)

  • Can't stop playing this song today. Those were the days. What a lovely song from two great guys.

  • This was the first record I ever bought.

  • I've been searching for this song! Thank you for posting it. Such a lovely song. Never forgot it. I remember them on the Euro. Didn't they win it?

  • Came 2nd behind Luxembourg.

  • @Euroalmanac Only difference; we now come last!!! Says a lot about the type of music then and now.

  • @Euroalmanac Only difference; we now come last!!! Says a lot about the type of music then and now.

  • no I think the came second, but I love it anyway.

  • Lovely song, very catchy and charming, and excellently performed. I love it, and personally think it deserved to win more than Luxembourg that year. Beautiful.

  • Indeed!

  • @setheurovision94 I prefered Luxembourg winning that year, in fact Jean Claude Pascal got points from nearly every country participating, and UK came 2nd only because Luxembourg gave UK 8!!! out of their 10 total points. And that's what this game is about.
