@TorysApollo@alittlehorse I think it was just to draw a line under the period of his disappearance so that they could carry on. It's understandable I guess. If your best mate intentionally disappears without saying goodbye you've kinda gotta create your own closure. TBH it's so probable that he's dead that it doesn't really matter either way.
There's a lot of bullshiting going on by this journalist. The bit where she says they were hoping for his return - The Manics said around the time of EMG that if Richey turned up he wouldn't be allowed back in the band. She's making so many assumptions. Like Wire writing all the lyrics after Richey's disappearance. There were 3 songs on EMG with his lyrics and James wrote some later on. Pretty inaccurate. Nicky brilliant in this though.
