Well I think she gives a new perspective of hip hop because this could be considered to be hip hop and that's pretty damn experimental/radical. I won't argue whether or not it sounds similar, because I think it sounds damn similar, but hey that's just me. And even if it doesn't sound *that* similar, it's still a cover and you can't take that away from her. It's not like she tries to pass it off as her own song that she wrote. It's incredibly damn creative in my opinion.

Esquire magazine just put me on to this tribute to a Biggie classic. Now i am a total fan of the artist herself. I wish the sound came in a little better so as to download, but this still gives you a good enough idea of where the artist was going with it.
