when I watch at these cold architectural renderings of random mass, structure and design in Rotterdam the more my desires arise to walk through the old original Rotterdam. but yea. It was BOMBED by some motherfuckin NAZIS during WW2. The sadest thing about Netherlands is that they lost a whole beautiful city by taking a neutral position. They didnt want to harm anybody. fuck that son of a bitch. If I could ever wish cancer and death to a person, that person would be hitler.

If you wanna see the modern Netherlands, come to Rotterdam. If you like history go Amsterdam, its still the same, they never changed.

your friend is brain washed by ansterdam coffee shop that what u get in amsterdam coffee shops and more coffee shope that why more pepole from around the world come there to smoke if they come to Netherlands to see the real dutch country side and all rotterdam is it zuid holland got lots to see and do they city is new coz in ww2 its was bombed and now they city is growing faster than amsterdam, u just wait and watch rotterdam in another 10 to 15 years

I love the city and it has so many beautiful spots, dont believe it if someone tells u theres nothing interesting to see ;)

@utubebla Agree 100%. I lived in Rotterdam 5 years ago and fell in love with the city. Not the most beautiful city in Europe, but it has a true, gritty spirit and a wonderful mix of people and culture......A really nice place to live and a great place to work....

If the nazi's didn't bomb the city then it was more like Amsterdam. But R'dam has more then new buildings. I like the bars, the clubs, footbalclub Feyenoord and offcourse the beautifull skyline.

Dat gaat niet gebeuren omdat ze een mooie skyline willen houden. Dus niet 1 uitsteeksel. Ik zou ook zeggen, bouw er dan meer van 300 meter ;)

I agree with most. It's only interesting in passing and makes a poor effort at looking complex or interesting. Like the scale though, which could have lead to a compromise as to feasible designs. And compromise seems to benefit everyone but the creative.

Doeff8 je had niet in rotterdam moeten gaan wonen maar in nunspeet, of Den helder, je kan de stad niet aan slimbo, verdiep je eerst maar eens in de gebouwen op de wilhelmina pier. Je was waarschijnlijk ook tegen de bouw van de erasmus brug en euro-mast geweest.

Een duidelijke vorm van vrij inspiratieloze maximale opvulling van de beschikbare ruimte. Leefbaarheid op de Wilhelminapier is de sluitpost. Die pier wordt is nu al een tochtige onaantrekkelijke straat, en hiermee nog onaanzienlijker. Er is onvoldoende gewerkt aan de integrale visie op die pier, met de Rotterdam als naar gevolg. Ik kan er als RDammer niet trots op zijn.

Belle van Zuylen is overigens de enige Toren die hoger komt dan 200 m..

Helaas niet in Rotterdam... Er waren trouwens wel een paar concepten gemaakt voor een toren van 200 of hoger IN ROTTERDAMN. maar dat zal nooit serieus genomen worden..

i like the idea that it destroyed the paradigm of a skyline and its linear relationship to the ground thru the shifting of different tower volumes...

but it failed to address the idea of multiple ground levels. the idea of stacking will be pleasurable if you create ideas of increased ground skin, shifted levels etc.

very cool! - except for cuts and moire
