@SnapDaddy5998 I wouldn't use them on a clutch cable. The tension on the cable is significantly higher than on a throttle cable. I mean, technically it would work, but for how long?
Taiden, this was a very nice writeup and I could have used this years ago while working on my previous car. Questions: Do you think in the end by just screwing the two screws together that this will hold the cable in place over time. I think maybe brazing the cable to the barrel will be a safer way. I just had a problem in the past where the cable came loose from the barrel. Just my .02
@rsthegoldenfist25 Molecular bonding will always be better than clamping forces, assuming you don't weaken the parent materials. Would brazing work? Not sure about that, my experience with brazing is very minimal. Soldering is a common technique for making feruled ends, so why not, right? Interestingly enough, the first time I tried to modify the throttle I used brass brazing rod drilled and punched as the barrel end. Not brazing, but brazing related!
These stop clamps would work the same on a cluth cable correct??? I'll be using them on my motorcycle to shorten the clutch cable.
