@comanche119 Did you have one of the first 60GB models and was the fan mega loud, I had a 60GB PS3 for 1 and half years, then I got YLOD. It was fine before the YLOD. Sony sent me a new one 60GB and FFS it overheats everyday saying to turn it off and the fan it so loud you can't watch a movie. But I've noticed newer PS3s like thr slim line are fine.

(and I have the first version) you just gotta know how to use it right and you wont get the red ring, which is fixable. HD DVDs and Blu-rays produce virtually identical picture qualities. in fact HD DVDs can have better quality in some cases. Blu-ray has better sound i think...but HD DVDs are dirt cheap now so that's what i buy =]

Actually the PS3 has a better blue ray player then the XBOX 360 the picture is not that good on the 360 with movies though. Actually the PS3 can play higher quality movies though which the picture is crystal clear. By the way PS3 gets and A+ and the XBOX 360 gets an F which means that the PS3 is alot better then the 360.
Uncharted 2, Metal gear solid 4, God of war 3, Heavy rain, Little big planet. I own an xbox 360 (currently playing the best version of bayonetta) but i want these 5 games more than any game on the xbox. That's why I'll be buying ps3 soon. Yes. I Was Going To Say That. I Tested On Both 1080 And 720. 1080p Does Look Better But Doesn't Run As Smooth As 720p. As Of Right Now I'm Going To Play On 720p. The Graphics Are Still Amazing But Way Smoother Game Play.
But Its Mostly The EA Games That Don't Run Smooth. Its Almost As If The Frame Rates Change Consistantly Throughout Game Play.
Yea the frame rate changes when there is more "action" going on in the game. I was playing Operation flashpoint dragon rising and that game was prone to low frames per second when grenades were going off in front of me and throwing up dust ect. i got the x-box 360 arcade version comes with no hdd just a memory card i bought it like 2 years ago but the thing is it dose come with a hdmi port on the back of the 360 so you dont have to buy the elite.

I have a HD TV Vizio and a Magnavox BluRay/DVD player. Works great with old DVD movies. Glad I kept mine! No more red, yellow, and white wires!

@Optimus489 all of my PS3 had the yellow light, sent them to Sony, then sent me a new ps3s with a note that says "you're Playstation3 has overheated" bla bla bla... and one month later it happens again, so i repeated it 3 more times then i just said FUCK IT! so i switched to xbox, and now i have it for 2 years, no red ring no nothing. but you just gotta know how to use it right and you wont get the red ring!!

@comanche119 Did you have one of the first 60GB models and was the fan mega loud, I had a 60GB PS3 for 1 and half years, then I got YLOD. It was fine before the YLOD. Sony sent me a new one 60GB and FFS it overheats everyday saying to turn it off and the fan it so loud you can't watch a movie. But I've noticed newer PS3s like thr slim line are fine.

idiots graphics dont make a game, dont think the PS3 is better because it has more HD and bluray. I have a xbox on a old tv probably older than me, it works great looks decent and had slim to no problems with the xbox. (and I have the first version) you just gotta know how to use it right and you wont get the red ring, which is fixable. I say xbox appeals more to me because of the interaction with partys, party chat, the camera vision thing, and so forth.

the standard definition dvd is 480 p if you use a SDTV vs a blu ray, 1080i/1080p and upscale it to that, you'd see a massive difference.

HD DVDs and Blu-rays produce virtually identical picture qualities. in fact HD DVDs can have better quality in some cases. Blu-ray has better sound i think...but HD DVDs are dirt cheap now so that's what i buy =]

Actually the PS3 has a better blue ray player then the XBOX 360 the picture is not that good on the 360 with movies though. Actually the PS3 can play higher quality movies though which the picture is crystal clear. By the way PS3 gets and A+ and the XBOX 360 gets an F which means that the PS3 is alot better then the 360.

Uncharted 2, Metal gear solid 4, God of war 3, Heavy rain, Little big planet. I own an xbox 360 (currently playing the best version of bayonetta) but i want these 5 games more than any game on the xbox. That's why I'll be buying ps3 soon. No i also have noticed a difference and i do agree hdmi is better, but even with my true 48inch tue 1080p tv pretty much all games seem to run more smoothly, have less hdtv lag (if the games are prone to having it) and they all seem to blur less and stay more focused even when lots of actions happenning on the screen like uncharted 2.

Yes. I Was Going To Say That. I Tested On Both 1080 And 720. 1080p Does Look Better But Doesn't Run As Smooth As 720p. As Of Right Now I'm Going To Play On 720p. The Graphics Are Still Amazing But Way Smoother Game Play.
But Its Mostly The EA Games That Don't Run Smooth. Its Almost As If The Frame Rates Change Consistantly Throughout Game Play.

Yea the frame rate changes when there is more "action" going on in the game. I was playing Operation flashpoint dragon rising and that game was prone to low frames per second when grenades were going off in front of me and throwing up dust ect. Well anyway im glad to see you found what your going to use now.

the 360 has old hardware thats from 1999 its not a HD console at all the 360 game disc has 10GBs of space win a HD disc has 25GBs of space a digital has 10GBs of space so the xbox 360 is a digital console not a HD console Blu-ray Discs can have 50GBs of space and the PS3 disc has 50Gb of space so you will get a HD console

hmmm,...well i own a PS3, Xbox 360 Elite, 1k watt surround sound system, and a 46in. Plasma TV...i use my PS3 to play Gran Turismo 5, i use my Xbox to play Forza Motorsport 3, the Call of Duty franchise, Halo3, and all the better games that PS3 doesnt have, and use my Blu-ray player for watching blue-rays, PS3 beats the xbox in little stuff outside what a gaming console's sole purpose of doing....playing games, but when it comes to fun and games, Xbox 360 forever FTW!,

1: You dont have to worry about "Red Ring of Crap" after 2-3 years. My frined just got it.
2: You dont have to pu tcrappy AA's in your controller. And even if you do have recharables, you cant play while you recharge.
3: You have to pay for XboX live....
4: DVDS are crap and tear up.
4: YOu have to have a "wired " connection to internet.
I bet you havent even played the ps3...

if u think about it 360 cost more than ps3 so u payed 400 bucks at the beginning for 20g hd then u need another controller cuz u dont want to spend money ob D.AA batteries so u buy wireless then u cant connect online and cuz cable is to short so u get 100dollar adapter then online cost 60 a year or if u pay monthly 90 a year the breaking down so u spend a month to 2 for it to be returned and u have to repeat that process again and again and agian

actually sony won't admit that ps2 is dead. I mean first of all, nearly all the best games goes to ps3. And not even all the multi platform games works well on ps2. Like nba 2k9 is awsome on console but pure garbage on ps2, its like they made a trash basketball game and just added 2k9 on the box. Yes we have jak coming to ps2 and psp, but thats a psp game just ported to ps2 (remember gta liberty city stories?). PS2 will discontinue manufacture once it stop selling but sony doesn't support it.

no ps3 right now is outselling ps2, the only reason ps2 is getting a boost is because of the price cut. But it won't last long. PS3 sales are dropping a bit because of slim rumors or its price but don't worry it with games like U2, heavy rain, GT5 & GOW3. PS3 sales will dramatically increase this fall.
