Michael Phelps always thanked and praised his teammates for helping him win his 8 medals. If my memory is correct, Michael did give his team a lead once or twice and the rest of the team took that lead and added to it in order to win the team events. He won 5 individual and 3 team medals. Michael never denied any of his teammates credit. If the IOC was playing favoritism to the US then why didn't Dara Torres win the gold? Why weren't the medals stripped from China's underage gymnastic team?
