  • Norma Shearer looks totally hot as a blonde, sad she isn't remembered like other 30s stars...

  • Clark Gable was gorgeous.

  • @misseloise97. Hot80s comment is referring Clark Gable's line in Gone With the Wind. Duhh....

  • There will never be another.

  • Nice try. But I don´t think that we can call singing and dancing to this.

  • I don't think no one in hollywood could do a kissing scene like clark.

  • Fabulous !!

  • He shoulda did that for Scarlett!!! ;)

  • Back then you had to know how to do everything! Sing, dance, act!! Real talent!

  • Oh, so Hollywood and great! Thanks.

  • clark gable just entertained the fuck out of me!

  • Monty Python impersonate Clack Gable

  • 1:00 Poor ladies :(

  • missEloise 97 ... said a very funny comment. LOL I liked that comment ..... :)

  • @IrishLass124

    Thank you :D

  • I LOVE Clark Gable, when I was a little girl I wanted to grow up and MARRY him! Clark Gable died before I could find him, I was not fully grown yet anyway! He is my perfect taste in a man ... any Clark Gable's out there and want a date? :)

  • Clark has a son, John Clark Gable, a grandaughter and grandson [Kayley, and Clark James (the first "Clark" to don his G-father's first name)]. Mr. Gable never got to see his son before his death. John Clark is 50 by today's date.

  • Clark Gable worked as a logger in Portland Oregon before he was "discovered". My little bit of triva.

  • wonder how they got this man's man to do this.

  • @priinsess

    Weren't we all?

  • i sang this song in chior last year

  • How could she not love that!

  • If he wouldn't squint-

  • Clark gable is my relative

  • what movie?????

  • @mrmuddy316 Idiot's delight(1939)

  • He was a real ladies man <3

Judy Garland's version of this song is also good!

  • funny, I had a conversation with my teacher about how amazing he was.

  • oh god, that is my MAN right there

  • love clark gable. hes an amazing actor but this version of puttin on the ritz belongs to fred asatire hands down.

  • When movies were amazing...

  • I love the 1930's... even though times were harder back then, but life seemed so much beautiful back then!

I wish time machine's were real=P There would be SO many actors from back then i would love to meet... Clark Gable being one of them. He's such a terrific actor=D

  • So many versions of this song, lately this one is the best!

  • @YarieRod this is pretty good, but Taco's version comes on top in my book ;D

  • @StevieDisopolis Heh yeah the Taco version is good, and Shiny Toy Gun's too.

  • @missEloise97, clark gable is incredible, and i am totally with you on that one.....we were both born too late =( i wish i was born in 1910! clark, whos real name was william, would have been only 9 years older than me then! and we could get marrieddd and live in clark gable estates <3 im fantisizing! its the same way with gene kelly, but clark is by far better.

  • Tap dancing rules!

  • I wish I were born in these times.

Then again I don't cause I'm black and I'd be whooping some serious ass if someone tried to segregate against me. They'd have me on the Undesirable list or something so I'm fine here. I'd be lynching fools left and right. Yeah you wanna hang me? How's that for hanging fool?

    But yeah, nice song.

  • @flowertower872

Such tragic times that was. It still amazes and horrifies me at the transgressions of that age. How blind they were to believe that they had the right to treat people that way. I'm glad that we can look towards to the future to stop that from happening anymore. America has gone a long ways from that mentality but we have a long way to go still.

  • @Raykenn Oh we have a very long way. You should look at the way white people look at you when you go to a white neighborhood. Half of them think we're some kinda foreign, exotic animals. "Mommy can I go see the niggers?"

  • @Raykenn

I hope someday it's not like that anymore. Thinking about that happening just makes me sad.

  • @flowertower872, in those days, your education would have been different, so you would have adapted to the society as it was at the time. In fact, there were some advantages as well, including less control over citizens. Some people who looked the part managed to pass for white in another city despite their partially black ancestry. If segregation was the law today, that just wouldn't be possible. First of all, your ID would probably say that you are black and that would be it.

  • @vartotrad Honestly, the education for black people isn't that good today. I won't say black people but districts that are predominantly black (there are a few white people in mine). We're being treated just like we were back then. I've never had a black history class in my life.

Also, there are still black people doing that. Even dark skinned people go around claiming "Oh I'm mixed with black, Asian, and Native America." No whore, you're black. Just face it.

  • he's handsome...too bad I'm 18...

  • Wow. He was not only a talented actor and a hunk, but he could dance too! I didn't know that. Now I'm even more impressed. Witch movie is this from?

  • CLARK GABLE is my Beaux HAHA I wish!!!!

  • Ha im related to him lol

  • @H20Buffalo1 really? lol. me too

  • @angelsfan362 Yah lol

  • Like the collapse at the end Clarke Gable a true star

  • Love Clark but this Puttin on the Ritz was lousy.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh the great Gable who can fault him when at his best!

  • Ooooo my god my love. I wish I lived back then. I would've made him MINE.

  • This man is not bound by the laws of physics

  • @Dewgma ...Since you think so, check out Fred Astaire's version of the same number!

  • wich movie is this from?

  • I adore Clark Gable in this video, he looks so hot dancing and singing! :)

  • ♥ Clark Gable! He looks so hot in this video!

  • For someone not a singer or dancer, he's awesome!!!

  • I would pay to see knights dancing this behind a Clark Gable impersonator.

  • 13 dislikes? People just don't appreciate stuff like this anymore. :( BUT I DO!!!

  • Clark Gable was one gorgeous man. The main reason i watched gone with wind

  • amazing version of this song, much better than taco ockerse version

  • I tried pudding on my ritz. I dunno if I used the wrong flavor or what but it was NOT very yummy.

  • He is a knight of the round table!

  • I love her reaction to his hip thrust!

  • Putin? On the Ritz?

  • Chloe Soveigny?

  • OMG! I didn't know he sang! LOL!

  • Clark's AWESOME!

  • He' s just himself ;) Exceptional and soooo sexy....I think that sometimes he doesn' t play - he just is who he is...or rather was:( -I think i was born too late.

  • Dig the way his jacket is cut. That's a nice piece of cloth!

  • I'm confused. In a book about the making of "Gone With the Wind," it explains that a special rig had to be built for the camera during the virginia reel scene. The rig moved the camera to make it appear that the actors (Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh) were really dancing, but in reality they were not because Gable couldn't dance at all! This scene apparently tells a different story! Anyone help me out???

  • Best singing in chorus, I mean the chorus is best.

  • when did this movie come out?

  • Not Fred Astaire... Just better !!! (though I'm also a huge fan of Fred...)

    Colors and tastes...

  • he is not fred astaire, but anyhow, he did such a good job!!! great great work mr gable. because of 'YT we have the chance to see all this rare pices of history.. thanks for uploeading

  • I was born too late....

  • @priinsess17

    Me too...

  • @priinsess17 you and me both -_-

  • @priinsess17 I TOO:)))))

    HES SOOO SEXYYYYYY!!!

  • Lol when movies actually took time and skill.

  • @NicoleHalsey13 One could only hope :) and dream......

  • @NicoleHalsey13 They don't make them like that anymore :(

  • I didn't think Gable was attractive when I was a kid. But, now I look at him in these movies and see he's really suave and dashing!

  • The original! I have loved him since I was 13 years old and I am almost 54 now :)

  • @LoreneFaith : Likewise!! - From the EXACT same age as you to the EXACT same age you are now!! :):) (When everyone else was raving about Bowie & co., I had a photo of 'The King' in a locket round my neck ;)!!

  • @ClaireLizTerry We must be soulmates Claire :) I wrote Clark a letter once. I can send you a copy of it if you would like, as an attachment in an email.

  • @LoreneFaith OK, Lorene, that would be fun!:) If you 'friend' me on facebook, ('Claire Elizabeth Terry'), I'll then send you my e-mail address via a private message

  • Clark Gable was a man very sexy. Those ears I would have taken in small bites

  • What movie was this from ??

  • :DDDD cute*

  • POP ART

  • Does anyone know what year this was filmed? I want to say 1920's but I'm not sure...

  • @AmberNelsen82 It was filmed in 1939 and the title of this film is "Idiot's delight" :)

  • @CruelDelta Thank you :o)

  • @AmberNelsen82 39 like CruelDelta says, but you can tell i's not 20's by the long hair, hourglass bodyshapes of the dresses, and emphasised busts. Also there were very few films with sound in the 20's. The music has a very 20's sound though because it was composed about 29 or something so that's what miss-directed you.

  • @ozoneocean Thank you, I think that is what it was, all I have to say is that I love Clark Gable, every movie that he was in, I like from Gone with the wind all the way to the Misfits. He was an phenomenal actor.

  • You've gotta love Gable! And Norma Shearer's dress, my god!

  • This song was written by russian composer

  • @PirateDen89 No, it was written by Irving Berlin, he was american.

  • You can't really say that though. Irving Berlin moved to America when he was five, and he spent the remaining 96 years of his life there. Of course he was influenced by his heritage, but I don't believe that being born somewhere constitutes identifying someone with that nation.

  • im related to him. go Clark

  • So wonderful! Clark, you lived a life to envy!

  • Gable was no Fred Astaire (as he well knew), but he's still delightful in this scene:) --

  • i love clark gable to he a hunk

  • I think you might be selling some of today's actors short. The reason they don't sing and dance is they don't HAVE to ... there is very little singing and dancing in today's films. But plenty of them do live theater, Broadway, etc. and, although we may not see it, do indeed have some talents in these areas. Still, it's awful fun to watch Astaire and Kelly. And how often does a Sinatra or Sammy Davis Jr. come along?

  • @hypstarr it's a shame. I love musicals best. Everybody's griping about Justin Bieber, but he's a kid, yet, and so much to learn. It would be great to see and hear him in a musical. He may turn out to be a Frank or a Sammy. Our culture needs to move away from this apocalyptic snuff stuff to a better place where song and dance are again possible.

  • I heard kissing Clark Gable was like kissing a piece of turd. He had dentures and the glue made his mouth smell horrible. Regardless of his breath he was an awesome actor.

  • talk about talent. one of the greatest. only actor today that could give any of those actors of that era a run for thier money might be leonard dicaprio

  • cómo se llama esta pelicula?

  • @napo2308 Se llama "Idiot's Delight." y es de 1939.

  • What hoot!!

  • from wich movie is it???

  • @YmugenY "idiots delight" i think its called (atleast something like that)

  • Comment removed

  • Haha yummy.

  • Gable is brilliant as the cheap song and dance man. It takes a lot of talent to play someone this mediocre. The character is a man who is obviously working hard, and Gable strikes just the right balance. Check out Sissy Spacek in "Verna, USO Girl". Same thing.

  • AMAZING!

    :'D

  • super dooper

  • Oh I love him!

  • Taco must be rolling over his grave after watching this!!!

  • I want punt babies at them.

  • No the actors were told what to do back than, they were controlled! I will take al pachino anyday over these actors..

  • Who knew Rhett Butler could sing and dance!!! He was a fabulous star.

  • Classic song, classic Clark Gable, classic Hollywood.....love it

  • Yes! these are the real and original lyrics of this song!

  • such babes...

  • He is the most handsomem man who has ever existed!! shame about the singing though... his voice always makes me smile lol

  • the foot step at beginning looks a bit like crib walking twist. lol

  • And they say he couldn't dance in GWTW?!

    I can't believe it!

  • Classic luv this!..ty 4 posting

  • WHAT movie is this from?! I've googled it but I can't find anything about Clark Gable singing this anywhere! :(

Puttin on the ritz is with Harry Richard and not Clark Gable.

  • @EllenPellenPu The film is called Idiots Delight and is from 1939 (one of Norma Shearers last films)

Did anyone else notice the dancer on the left, at about 0:43 her dress strap broke?

  • CLARK GABLE <3

  • @marzielol bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

  • great classic hit by Clark Gable, in the 80's Tacco recorded a cover of this great song!!

  • its funny how they dropped him once they got back stage and then he propped but and said "applause!"

  • Clark looks so cute and adorable with his little hat on. i just saw this movie last night. i love the way he twists that little body! :)

    he's so charming and classy

  • Clark Gable is so sexy! this film was great

  • @Cassie86R He was great in this film, but that woman kind of annoyed me after watching it more than once. lol. She's the reason its called "Idiots Delight..."

  • @indelicatelypristine yeah her acting was good in the beginning, but when he met back up with her, her acting was over the top LOL!

  • @Cassie86R exactly. lol

  • He could get this routine across and still look macho.

  • I sing about Gable and others in The Celebrity Song.

  • Clark Gable is the best actor of all time

  • Good song.

  • 0:45 Look at the second dancer from the left.

    She seems so confused haha

  • This seems to have different lyrics ..

  • The film is

    Idiot's Delight,

    I think from 1939

  • Fred Astaire is better with this song then Clark Gable or Harry Richman!
