Why does the world repress those that they do not understand. The media could not define him so they reacted by twisting his actions and words to control him. Very disturbing to realize that there is not true freedom to be yourself. I love at the end it shows a close up of his eyes. To me it shows his soul. Such a sweet spirit filled with love. Loving eyes, I would say. It deffinatly touches my heart. Now I know the meaning behind the portrait it's not so shocking, it makes sense. He was showing a part of himself he has not showen to many. I think that's why at first a lot of people were shocked by it. Now it makes me love him even more. He was human just like everyone else. Love and will forever miss you Heath.

It's a fantastic painting but it has quite a haunting feel to it. It is as if that is what he looked like just before his death, with his two inner selves telling him things which led to his death.

A wonderful artist. A wonderful subject. But I don't see how a mother could live with that portrait of her gone son. It hurts me to look at it and I did not know him. But a gracious, loving gesture certainly and it shows the goodness of all of them. I hope his daughter grows up knowing how special he was to the world.
