Coach always told me "Win if you can, Lose if you must But always Cheat." so damn do whatever you gotta do to win that is a coaching error by the other team the opposing teams coach should have been screaming at them.
Is this really the point of sports for young people? To teach them how to be sneaky, win at all costs, unsportsmanlike grownups? Well designed trick plays are one thing, but this is not in the spirit of the game.
it was indeed a legal play, the center is allowed to do that, and, i mean, hey if the defense is gonna fall for it, why not run it? well executed! no way of stopping that one unless u knew it was coming.
I think it's actually an illegal play, only because the center seems to stand up first before handing the quarterback the ball. illegal motion.........On offense, a player may be in motion but cannot be going forward at the time of the snap (except in Arena football where one player is allowed to do so), and a lineman must be set for one second before the snap (THE CENTER IS A LINEMAN THIS IS WHERE I DON"T THINK IT WOULD WORK). Otherwise it is an illegal motion.
THIS PLAY IS PERFECTLY ACCEPTABLE!! I played Pop Warner in California for 3 years, 3 years of High School. This is a great play. Anyone that has responded with anything to this video that sounds like" oh my goodness? is that legal? thats so cheap" IS EITHER A. A CHICK. or B. A PUSSY.
good job! video! my names Samantha, kinda feelin bored if any1 wants to join me on cam or wana chat i will be signed on at __ PLAY-CAM...dot...COM __ my user ID there is Samantha_ofqjg chat soon xx its FR33 to j0in! mwah
I guarantee you that the teams that face this coach in the future would be ready for the play. I suppose this is one way to teach youngsters to play hard whenever the ball moves. As a coach, I would really look forward to playing a team that was coached by the guy who spent his practice time designing this play instead of blocking, tackling, learning assignments, mental preparation, and talking about respecting the game. Those lessons aren't on display in this video.
it wasnt cheating because when everyone is set and the ball moves it is a live ball and it was a lagit snap its called a "side snap"...and to the guy talking about fundamentals this could teach them because once the ball moves you should move
It's technically not cheating. But it's definitely a cop-out. It's one thing to design a trick play that involves laterals and such, but it takes no skill to design the play in this video.

Who gives a shit that it worked? Football touchdowns are about burning the defensive coverage, knocking linebackers on their ass, and breaking tackles. I guess you prefer "trick" plays designed for pussies who can't take a hit.
There are unspoken rules of sports etiquette too. For example, baseball is about getting hits (and ultimately scoring runs) and yet a batter wouldn't try to bunt his way on in the 9th to break up a no-hitter. A runner wouldn't steal a base with his team is up 10 runs, even though it's "staying within the rules." Likewise, scoring a TD in a way that requires no effort beyond tricking the opponent into thinking no play is being run is lame. Want a real trick play? Boise State vs Oklahoma.
Actually, everything I said is what people DON'T do. A no-hitter is never broken up on a bunt. People DON'T steal bases when they're up by 10 runs. Apparently you can't have an honest debate without resorting to insulting people and calling them "moron." What a classy guy...
nobody bunts in a no-hitter because they need more than a base hit to score some runs (they probably have 0). stealing bases when winning is not similar to this. you play to win the game (and have fun) and that's what this is.
it doesn't have to be. There's a more "traditional" play that does the same thing. When a team uses the swinging gate on a FG/XP, the center can pick the ball up and throw it to the up back behind the lineman in the flats. He doesn't snap it between his legs because he doesn't have to. The correct phraseology in the rulebook is that it has to be "passed" from the center to the QB.
not very damn funny if your kid is on the other team - at this age the point is supposed to be the fundementals, character and sportsmanship - not bending the rules - teach the kids right - not how to cheat
There was no cheating on this play. They used 11 guys and so did the other team. It's a gimmick play, nothing more or less. Fundamentals were done well. They all went to a set position and waited for the play to develop as taught. There is another where the QB argues with the coach and comes to the sideline and creates a mismatch of 2 WR's on 1 CB. Is that cheating as well? No, just silly creativity.

If the center was dead still and lifted up with the ball simultaneously, then it would be a legal play

What are you talking about? Touchdowns are about getting the ball into the endzone, whilst staying within the rules.
