my dad has the 250hp v6 and that motherfucker gets from 0-60mph in about 6 seconds and its hugely spacious and weighs about 4,000 pounds.the only bad thing is the quality of the interior and the fuel economy isnt great
@TWPOwns12 The Maxima is a decidedly smaller car & is cramped for extended travel with 4 grown adults. The 300C is a 12 - 14 hr- day traveller with 4 big adults in perfect comfort. It is a LOT faster than the maxima, handles beautifully & runs very happily on reg gas. I have an 08 BMW 328i & an 05 300C that I bought used because the 328 is a useless vehicle for touring with adults, just like the Maxima. The 300C is a very solid car & has given me zero problems. I love it.
this car is a piece of crap, too many blind spots, and its ride is nothing compared to the likes of maybe something like a maxima which is in the same price range
Not only does the 300c ride better than the Max, but it is also faster, nicer looking, RWD, V8...no comparison.
If you want an overpriced FWD POS with a CVT (lol), go ahead and get the Max. I might have even forgiven the design of the new Maxima, but I saw one on the road the other day, and the rear 3/4 view makes the car look like complete shit.
Obviously its faster, its a V8. I don't think its nicer then a 06,07 Maxima which has an elegance to it, the 300 just looks like a blob of steel on wheels, have you ever even ridden in a maxima?
lol i don't get how your relating a cow to a car, it's really not that nice of a car IMO but you probably own one or something that's why your defending it like its your wife

No worries there, performance is not the issue in europe, as most of us drive diesel on german highways, no petrol car would last for 200.000 miles on those speeds..
@th3ha1og0d The problem is that this car is too expensive in Europe. I paid over 60000 Euro's ($ 80000) for my 300C back in 2008. The base price for a 300C (V6) is 50000 Euro's in my country ($70000), that means it compeats with the 5-series/E-class and A6. For the same price they offer much better interiors, so you really have to like the 300C (like i do ;) to buy one in Europe. And it's the same story with Cadillac. American cars are just too expensive in Europe...that's why they don't sell.
I agree, who cares about cheap plastic. At the end of the day, cheap plastic looks the same as normal plastic, and unless I drive fondling the plastics or hitting or trying to pull it off, I'm not that bothered how it feels.
If it means I can get a fast well equipped car like this for a good price just because the plastic is abit cheaper, then I'm happy.
Thank you! Finally someone else who agrees! Cheap plastic lasts longer, and is easier to take care of! Just like if you was to buy jeans at walmart, and then buy jean at hollister, the jeans from walmart would last longer! Cheap stuff is soo much better!
Theres alot of things in life where cheaper things do last longer. Look at some of houses here in the UK. Some were made out of wood, a few bricks, and mud, and wattle...all of which are were cheap hand made natural resouces. And 500 years later, they are are still standing.
Yet we built tower blocks out of expensive man made material like steel etc, and they were ready to be pulled down after 30 years.
All new Chryslers are very nicely designed. them are very modern and good looking like Sebring and 300c, but the building quality and that plastic interior lames it little bit,but i don't actually care. modern design over a little quality problems for me. Well i'am got used to a German cars like mercedes and VW so my opinion that the interior feels cheap can come from there as well.
I've driven a current generation c300 4-matic (an '08 model I believe) and the overall interior quality was superb. -It wasn't a very well-equipped model and as such there was a bit too much black vinyl, but at least it wasn't black plastic. I'd like to know just what you're referring to.
Yes, vinyl. I sat in it and drove it a number of times, it was on loan to my father just over a year ago. I had heard all the horror stories about Mercedes' build quality over the past few years, and when I got the opportunity to use it for a few days, I meticulously looked the interior over to see how much quality had actually returned. And buddy, that was Not a plastic dash. Prey-tell, where did you get the idea that it is? -Have you ever been inside one?
Are you kidding?!?!? Have you seen the specs on the M3? Compact car with a 4.0L V8 w/ over 400HP and a redline of 8500 RPM's. The M3 also weighs about 500 lbs less. Not to mention it's built for performance.
Why would you compare a Chrysler to a BMW? There's no comparison at all. Check the 0-60 times of each car. The M3 will DUST the 300C. Period. Raw horsepower does not mean a thing. An 80hp motorcycle will DUST nearly any car on the market.
My GSX650f has about 80-85hp. That's not much for a motorcycle. A GSXR 600 has around 110hp, and a literbike has quite a bit more than that.
My point to tierren was that horsepower doesn't mean a thing until you factor in the weight of the vehicle. Comparing a 300C to a motorcycle is definitely unfair... I know. I've raced several 300C's with 5.7/6.1L HEMI's, and ALL of them lost miserably. That's why comparing an M3 to a 300C is unfair.
If Chrysler did what cadillac did, they wouldn't be in much trouble now. The Chrysler 300 has the looks that would compete with it's german rivals but It doesn't have the quality and performance to kill them as how cadillac did with their cts.
Chrysler! tune this thing in the nurburgring, improve the interior quality and ride comfort, make it lighter even. I see a bright future for chrysler with the 300c and I dont want this car to be put to waste. Forget that ugly PT cruiser aswell.
The CTS is an interesting competitor. I don't think you could make the 300 into a Chrysler CTS. It's design is to 'American' for that. The CTS really is a car targeted at NA and Europe, whereas the 300 seem to be targeted at NA. Not bad in anyway but it's strengths are also a weakness in some ways. That said, the 300 seems to line up better with the BMW 5 series than CTS does. Chryser has thier work cut out for the 2010 300 GM did a good job with the CTS. Better dyamics, quality are needed
Not exactly Chrysler CTS but how Cadillac did the CTS. It's target is of course N/A but nowadays, even the locals would have something overseas so like Cadillac, Chrysler should give the 300 foreign quality but keep the "American" ness of the car. The looks for is the winning point of the car.
thought it looks a bit german according to some motoring journalists.
I have an 05 300c, and my parents own an 05 CTS with 3.9L , six speed manual. My 300 is lowered 1", it kills the cts in everything. Off the line, top speed, handling you name it. M5 will clearly beat a 300c and SRT8. M3 against a stock 300c is a close race, but with a few modifications 300c will walk all over an M3. CTS-V and an M5 are a close, close race.
And Chrysler isn't bankrupt because of the Chrysler 300. It's bankrupt because of terrible cars such as the Sebring and PT Cruiser.
They still make good vehicles such as the Ram, Caravan, and 300.
Also, Chryslers vehicles are not known for reliability.
Personally, I prefer the Town Car because it's body on frame and it doesn't fail you after 250,000 miles. We have 2 in limo service that have more than a million miles.
there is probably no way a car could have a million miles, combined yes but individually no. and Chrysler does make good cars, they were known for their Engines and Transmissions but Diamler screwed all that up with the 2.7 V6 and 4 speed automatic.
Dude, $45 grand, 425hp, 420ft-lbs and you want what - a leather dash? Give me a break....Name me another sedan that boast these numbers and Brembo brakes. It competes with cars that are over $20K more (ie.. IS-F, M3 Sedan). I just don't understand where these test drivers/reviewers come from --Germany? Get real........
these cars are actually selling cheap. you can pick one up used fully loaded with the hemi in the low 20's with about 25 thousand miles on them or less. I'm not sure about the brand new ones
excuse me what are you talking about - Mercedes and BMW are not really all that well made. they have serious reliability issues as well - the stock BMW or Merc is pretty basic. To kit to a higher level costs $20k more. 20k more you could kit the 300c with gold plating throughout!
Also, on the older chrysler 300 models, mercedes thought chrysler shouldnt be that luxurious. And that mercedes should be the best luxury in the company. that is why their interiors WERE crap.
What?!? That doesn't even make sense. What in the world gave you the impression that a car company would just make an interior poor for the sake of making a poor interior, xxxMafia101??!!
Chrysler had NO money while they were with mercedes. That is why when the u.s. went into the ression, chrysler had to declare chapter 11. So in other words, Mercedes drained chrysler and then dumped them.
The simple answer would be that it might have been too expensive. I've noticed that all car interiors have seriously improved after 2008. Especially the domestics. Not sure what changed. Interiors can't be cheap though.
FYI there is a reason the v6 Chrysler 300 isn't as fast as a g35/37 or BMW 335i...it's a larger, heaver FAMILY sedan mated to a 4 speed auto which is at a disadvantage in terms of # of cogs. It only makes sense that a smaller, lighter car with a higher output engine and more performance oriented transmission would be faster, you stupid cockroach.
If you want FAST, try the SRT8 or even the 300c, which are by far more powerful and offer more value for your dollar.
300c and i can tell because i own the 300c and my brother used to own a charger. some think the charger is better for a young boy but i like the 300 and i am 20. anyways i got to tell you most girls don't see a difference between them lol.
Have you looked at how much stuff gets made in Canada? I think we are the US's biggest trading partner by a sizable margin. At least the US is for Canada.
There a lot of US car company factories in Canada. To some extent we see this cars as our own. Might be strange to you, but if you say 'domestic car' in Canada it's the same list you would mention.
The US out sources just as much, as any other country and Canada gets a lot of it. What's a revolution between family? :)
A big Boat car....A Square Frame and Old Mecanics.... Try and Look Japonese Car Before Buying that... Honda Accord or Toyota Camry is a better Choice...
And also I don't have a minority opinion. The Chrysler 300/c/srt8 is a very popular car and I see A LOT more of them on the road than I do the new Maxima. So far I've seen TWO '09 Maximas on the road. I see more Chrysler 300's EACH DAY when I drive. So who has the minority opinion again? Let me know.
I'm probably going to end up buying a Chrysler 300 very soon myself anyways and would not even consider the Nissan Maxima. For me the Chrysler 300 is EASILY the better car in either v6 or v8 form.
Buy the 300, I gurantee you'll love it!! Plus its fun when people stop u in parking lots, gas stations, or even when you're at a read light with the windows down to tell you they love your car. I mean Im sure that happens all the time with the Maxima too...lol :)
It actually took some time to grow on me, but now I love it. My dad bought one and its the Vanilla White color, and then he tinted the windows, so it looks amazing! I was personally hoping more for the CTS until I drove the 300C, there truely is no comparison. But I still am pretty fond of the CTS:)
That is a very nice color for the car. The HEMI is a gem of an engine too. These cars have such a commanding road presence, they're big and proud to be big. I very much like the 300c as you can probably tell.
Why is it that so many Posts on YouTube videos simply turn into Pissing Contests between people instead of making relevant commentary on the presented video?
I own a 2005 300C non-SRT8. I like it. (Other people don't, obviously.) It drives nicely (it should; it's based off an older E-class Mercedes), has an impressive sound system, I like the way it looks and it cost me $17,000 when I bought it used a year ago. I paid cash. It has a K&N cold air intake and a fairly quiet ride at 75 mph.
that really blows my mind they wouldn't put side curtain airbags or any torso airbags for the front passengers. if i spend over $40,000 on a car i expect a lot from it, one of them being my safety. that's crazy how little this car has.
Chrysler 300's are very nice cars. I'd consider myself very lucky and very proud to drive a fine American car. I don't know why the reviewer was complaining about the interior; I sat in a 2008 300 at the auto show and it had a very nice interior in terms of materials and fit and finish (they upgraded materials for 08 MY).
This car is leaps ahead of the Toyota Avalon, Honda Accord, and Nissan Maxima.
People who are smart will buy Chrysler vehicles right now and take advantage of the good deals

@th3ha1og0d The problem is that this car is too expensive in Europe. I paid over 60000 Euro's ($ 80000) for my 300C back in 2008. For the same price they offer much better interiors, so you really have to like the 300C (like i do ;) to buy one in Europe. And it's the same story with Cadillac. American cars are just too expensive in Europe...that's why they don't sell.

Who cares if there is Cheap plastic. Plastic is Plastic to me. I like the car. I'd drive.
RYwiccan 2 years ago 36
RYwiccan..
I agree, who cares about cheap plastic. At the end of the day, cheap plastic looks the same as normal plastic, and unless I drive fondling the plastics or hitting or trying to pull it off, I'm not that bothered how it feels.
If it means I can get a fast well equipped car like this for a good price just because the plastic is abit cheaper, then I'm happy.
hawksleyart01 2 years ago
Thank you! Finally someone else who agrees! Cheap plastic lasts longer, and is easier to take care of! Just like if you was to buy jeans at walmart, and then buy jean at hollister, the jeans from walmart would last longer! Cheap stuff is soo much better!
RYwiccan 2 years ago
Theres alot of things in life where cheaper things do last longer. Look at some of houses here in the UK. Some were made out of wood, a few bricks, and mud, and wattle...all of which are were cheap hand made natural resouces. And 500 years later, they are are still standing.
Yet we built tower blocks out of expensive man made material like steel etc, and they were ready to be pulled down after 30 years.
hawksleyart01 2 years ago
Great video. Every other video of this car is mad stupid on Youtube. This car's interior looks really tiny and doesn't seem worth anywhere near $45k.

All new Chryslers are very nicely designed. them are very modern and good looking like Sebring and 300c, but the building quality and that plastic interior lames it little bit,but i don't actually care. modern design over a little quality problems for me. Well i'am got used to a German cars like mercedes and VW so my opinion that the interior feels cheap can come from there as well.
impalaccc 2 years ago
cheap interiors can be found on some VW's, but when has Mercedes or BMW ever put a plastic dash or fake aluminum paneling in their cars?

c300
th3ha1og0d 2 years ago
I've driven a current generation c300 4-matic (an '08 model I believe) and the overall interior quality was superb. -It wasn't a very well-equipped model and as such there was a bit too much black vinyl, but at least it wasn't black plastic. I'd like to know just what you're referring to.
bgreen94 2 years ago
vinyl? the dash is COVERED in black plastic.
th3ha1og0d 2 years ago
-Have you ever been inside one?

viclam 2 years ago
That is such a typical arrogant European answer.
xxMafia101 2 years ago 3
Are you kidding?!?!? Have you seen the specs on the M3? Compact car with a 4.0L V8 w/ over 400HP and a redline of 8500 RPM's. The M3 also weighs about 500 lbs less. Not to mention it's built for performance.
Why would you compare a Chrysler to a BMW? There's no comparison at all. Check the 0-60 times of each car. The M3 will DUST the 300C. Period. Raw horsepower does not mean a thing. An 80hp motorcycle will DUST nearly any car on the market.
madpistol 2 years ago
80 horses are you crazy... you kinda took it too far there
but m3 does destroy it but 300cs dont cost shit
and m3s cost so much
W33Dblazer 2 years ago

Forget that ugly PT cruiser aswell.
mondeost2202008 2 years ago 6
Or as Bam Margera says, PT Loser.
ARedMoonStudio 2 years ago
ha! i agree with you on the PT cruiser. that car doesnt deserve to be chrysler
vipermoon64 2 years ago
The CTS is an interesting competitor. I don't think you could make the 300 into a Chrysler CTS. It's design is to 'American' for that. The CTS really is a car targeted at NA and Europe, whereas the 300 seem to be targeted at NA. Not bad in anyway but it's strengths are also a weakness in some ways. That said, the 300 seems to line up better with the BMW 5 series than CTS does. Chryser has thier work cut out for the 2010 300 GM did a good job with the CTS. Better dyamics, quality are needed
fireworkstube 2 years ago
Not exactly Chrysler CTS but how Cadillac did the CTS. It's target is of course N/A but nowadays, even the locals would have something overseas so like Cadillac, Chrysler should give the 300 foreign quality but keep the "American" ness of the car. The looks for is the winning point of the car.
thought it looks a bit german according to some motoring journalists.
mondeost2202008 2 years ago
I have an 05 300c, and my parents own an 05 CTS with 3.9L , six speed manual. My 300 is lowered 1", it kills the cts in everything. Off the line, top speed, handling you name it. M5 will clearly beat a 300c and SRT8. M3 against a stock 300c is a close race, but with a few modifications 300c will walk all over an M3. CTS-V and an M5 are a close, close race.

I have to say, I'm a Ford guy but I'm liking these Chrysler 300s.
SaturnVII 2 years ago
These are being redesigned for the 2011 models.
CsalbertCs 2 years ago
there is probably no way a car could have a million miles, combined yes but individually no. and Chrysler does make good cars, they were known for their Engines and Transmissions but Diamler screwed all that up with the 2.7 V6 and 4 speed automatic.
Hawkskill818 2 years ago
that engine and transmission existed regardless of any Daimler interference

why can't they get better materials like BMW or Mercedes???? WHY and this is asking before they got broke
tHeWasTeDYouTh 2 years ago
For 2009, they added a LOT better materials to it. Just look on their website at pictures.
xxMafia101 2 years ago
excuse me what are you talking about - Mercedes and BMW are not really all that well made. they have serious reliability issues as well - the stock BMW or Merc is pretty basic. To kit to a higher level costs $20k more. 20k more you could kit the 300c with gold plating throughout!
urshubh 2 years ago
Also, on the older chrysler 300 models, mercedes thought chrysler shouldnt be that luxurious. And that mercedes should be the best luxury in the company. that is why their interiors WERE crap.
xxMafia101 2 years ago
What?!? That doesn't even make sense. What in the world gave you the impression that a car company would just make an interior poor for the sake of making a poor interior, xxxMafia101??!!
bg1379 2 years ago
Because Mercedes wanted Chrysler to compete with entry level luxury companies such as buick.
xxMafia101 2 years ago
so why not upgrade the interior so that it beats the competition?
unnamedgrave 2 years ago
Chrysler had NO money while they were with mercedes. That is why when the u.s. went into the ression, chrysler had to declare chapter 11. So in other words, Mercedes drained chrysler and then dumped them.
xxMafia101 2 years ago
chrysler declared chapter 11 cuz they made shitty cars that nobody was buying. thank god for the split. chevy camaro ss forever.
unnamedgrave 2 years ago
And how about GM there buddy? They are worse off than Chrysler.
xxMafia101 2 years ago
still better than chrysler
unnamedgrave 2 years ago
And in what way? Chrysler is home free. GM is still getting money from the government.
xxMafia101 2 years ago
The simple answer would be that it might have been too expensive. I've noticed that all car interiors have seriously improved after 2008. Especially the domestics. Not sure what changed. Interiors can't be cheap though.
fireworkstube 2 years ago
FYI there is a reason the v6 Chrysler 300 isn't as fast as a g35/37 or BMW 335i...it's a larger, heaver FAMILY sedan mated to a 4 speed auto which is at a disadvantage in terms of # of cogs. It only makes sense that a smaller, lighter car with a higher output engine and more performance oriented transmission would be faster, you stupid cockroach.
If you want FAST, try the SRT8 or even the 300c, which are by far more powerful and offer more value for your dollar.

For me the Chrysler 300 is EASILY the better car in either v6 or v8 form.
th3ha1og0d 2 years ago
Buy the 300, I gurantee you'll love it!! Plus its fun when people stop u in parking lots, gas stations, or even when you're at a read light with the windows down to tell you they love your car. I mean Im sure that happens all the time with the Maxima too...lol :)

It actually took some time to grow on me, but now I love it. My dad bought one and its the Vanilla White color, and then he tinted the windows, so it looks amazing! I was personally hoping more for the CTS until I drove the 300C, there truely is no comparison. But I still am pretty fond of the CTS:)
stuwip839 2 years ago
