What a load of crap! "Open source doesn't do a good job." What?!? OS software, most of the time, does a much better job than their closed source counterparts. Don't know where you've been living. Less bloat, less bugs, and many more releases, much more often. The only issue most people see with it, is the fact that most of it runs in the terminal, because it is for people who are supposed to be much cleverer than the rest, and command line proficient.

ok let me clear something up...x-plane and fsx are both sims. It is just personal preference. Not to be ragging on x-plane but I have only seen like one good xplane vid on youtube and that was from xplanes youtube page. I personnaly like fsx better.

Obviously he hasn't seen Microsoft flight simulator x. These graphics are shit compared to Xplane, real air, and msfsx. Pretty good for a free simulator though. I might try it cause it has a lot more planes than my msfs02 program. Also if the graphics card is as bad as u said then it should do good on my 11 year old pavilion. Thnx for the info.

Never knew the point of a Flight Simulator was to crash airplanes. I’m Using X Plane along with VATSIM for 2 years now, and after finding realistic aircraft's with 3D cockpit, upper panel, real FMC ect, I’m pretty happy with XPlane. I guess Flight Gear is good for people that want to play around, but it does not fit into the real aviation training industry.

It's childish if you're flying with that view and call the game excellent, it would be better if you try GTA VC da SA, its also as easy as you've shown !

Flight Gear is great for the details within the cockpit, that you're able to fly like a real pilot and to watch all the important things, thats the point a game is called flight simulator !

And if you're going to fly any airplane, its good to learn some things about. For instance the Cessna 172 isnt much different as its shown in this game.
