  • sweet video dude. hope we dont ever get hit over here on the east coast. amazing what water can do.

  • there's a tsunami coming,,, i know... I'll take my kids down to the beach to watch it come in...... freeeeeaaaaak!!

  • @ukgirl22inlove Yeah. Seemed like a pretty poor decision to me, too.

  • @frelnc thanks, he spammed one of my videos calling me a freak for taking my kids to a controlled yearly fireworks display lol... I think the music on this vid is really stupid and disrespectful too... fair enough nature can be awesome but have respect for the countless amount who died from that very tsunami!

  • I have been looking at everything I could find about the tsunami and it's effect and have been so saddened by the people who lost virtually everything. And all the people who died. It's hard to even get my head around 390,000 folks dead from this horrible tragedy. I've seen videos that literally made me cry. Stay strong against guys like that. Just ignore it.

  • This video is racist why aren't there any black people in this video?!

  • @Austerers because they are too busy robbing people and selling drugs.

  • Because its not in Oakland. If this video was shot in the Oakland area there would be no white poeple.haha

  • @Austerers Are you kidding? Good grief.

  • @Austerers the dog is black. there you go.

  • @erikrgb 2010 population of NYC was 8,175,133 LOL

  • @nkw92 I still have that picture in my head of that Thai man standing in a defying stance on the beach as the 2005 tsunami was coming in. He was swept away and died, drowning. That was Thailand. Foolishness knows no frontier. Here there was plenty of time and possible "escapes" on higher grounds. Try to escape the "typical stereotypes" yourself next time, and place yourself on higher grounds. For the sake and future of humanity. Thank you.

  • Americans are great, its the rest of the world that are a bunch of dumbasses

  • I hope your not dumb enough to pull this when the Cascadia Suduction Zone blows.

  • @jtmjtm2001 I don't think they will after they're subjected to 5 minutes of 9.0 shaking....

  • @nkw92 we laugh at dangerous things. There funner than a day at disneyland. Especially earquakes...

  • RUN THEN YOUR GONNA DIE MAN!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Need to get rid of all that music noise or whatever it is

  • @Ribbet707 hey not to join in in this conversation but seriously? You're going to judge a whole country for one stupid person?

  • If he would have slipped he'd be taking a Tsunami nap..

  • Absolutely amazing that this wave traveled so far and would have LOVED to have been there to see it. Yeah the guy had to jump but wow..what a rush that would have been.

  • And while you all recorded these waves with your iphones, thousands had been swept away and killed across that ocean and a nuclear catastrophe was already brewing...My heart goes out to the people of Japan as they still struggle to rebuild.

  • sweet you should have tried to surf it

  • Am I the only one who noticed the person down the beach on the little jetty who got dragged into the ocean? It looked like he rode the wave all the way to where you were standing (if you play frame by frame).

  • Never mind. I'm on a much better computer now w/hd. It's driftwood.

  • I really hope a big one cmes to USA, those people really deserve it. I'd like to see n earthquake in New York, because there are more buildings, so it would be devastating. How awesome would that be? Hahahahahaa.

  • @mickey3348 Yeah.. awesome..

    Sick bastard.

  • @mickey3348 yeah if it hit new york it would also hit nj so without nj there be no oil in amerrica thats where we get it shiped to and if hit nyc well around 6 million would be dead plus the ones in nj and then the entire world would fall in a great depression 100x worse then the one in the 1930s so whatever rat hole you live in would be a trillion times worse usa might be fucked up butt in the end we keep the world going

  • moron

  • That's pretty cool.

  • well , with tsunamies .

one night a saw a nightmare with tsunamies . i was at beah . every 10 minutes there was a tsunami . it went about 20 meters up . than it went down again .

people went back to swim . and so on and on :D

  • What happened to the person down the beach who got swept into it?

  • Amazing that people would have their children so close to this.....Fools! You never know what could have happend.... Made my skin crawl

  • @elevenart I guess you are a complete idiot who has never heard of the Cascade Mountain Range that extends from Canada to California

  • dude should ve ran down the channel - it was moving slow enough

  • i was thinking about going down to the beach to check it out... but then i was like nahhh..... is this right at the end of murray rd.?

  • @mharlynn29 -we have to forgive males, they can't help it. They learned from their fathers who learned from their fathers and so on.

  • @Ribbet707 I have.

  • is this at the mouth of the mad?

  • music was terrible other then that it prolly was pretty exciting seeing that first hand. i do feel bad for people in japan i want to help them as much as possible.

  • Where did that black dog go?

  • how big were the waves in feet?

  • if they weren't this close, we wouldn't be watching this

  • hey kids who wants to go to the beach and watch the tsunami hit shore we dont know how big it will be but who wants to go. (all the kids) I DO. xD stupid people

  • human perception is not as good as people think it is.

Many people who die from watching a tsunami hit, are thinking "oh it doesn't look that big" until it's too late.

    You just got lucky.

  • AWESOME! You brave brave souls!

  • These comments are full of butthurt, and it makes me sad that people are so upset you went to see something most people won't ever get the chance to.

    Maybe they're jealous.

  • there are safer ways to prove you have a penis...

  • @skatergt388 im pretty sure you already said that on another video...

  • Yeah, I have to agree that saying you were perfectly safe is a lot like anyone who drives like a maniac but somehow manages to avoid an accident saying much the same thing. You were safe because you got out of the way in time.

However, I don't think you're a ghoul. The tsunami was not a serial killer being applauded for what it had done. It was a natural phenomenon people had the opportunity to see and film to show the sheer power and terror of nature. It should be filmed... just a bit higher.

  • Where's the footage that crazy dude took?

  • sims310lover alot of people in japan praise budah which is just a statchue budah is fake for the real GOD is a jealous GOD and its in the ten commandments Thal shall not make up idols to worship and i believe in GOD so for those who believe in GOD keep on believeing dontlet anyone change you oh and sims310lover u shouldnt call us names and u dont even know us thanks bye

  • @kiddspank You aren't seriously trying to imply that your God is trying to punish Japan, are you?

  • Thats how the one dude went missing, while filming the fool wave...great vid though!

  • huge wave...

    pray for japan

  • what the heck is wrong with the sound?

  • looks like fun (:

  • seriously omg !!! i wouldve been there too !!! Jumping up and down you freekin retards !!! WTF !!! Life is life what happens happens !!! that doesnt mean sit at home and mourn !!! means live more get out and do something with your life !!! Before its over !!!

  • I cant believe that dog endangered that poor moron guy with the hoodie sweatshit like that. ,

  • Where did the dog go?

  • @shayshay3542 The dog is fine

  • @Ribbet707 hehe good to know :)

  • To witness (safely) the power of the earth? To let your children witness it? Why not yell something. You guys are a bunch of insecure wimps.

  • All this about Japan is so sad, and these people are cheering about it? C'mon I mean what if the tsunami would hit 'California' instead? Would you still be cheering and watch it for pleasure's sake? I don't think so.

  • @bot4ever1 No one there was cheering about what happened in Japan. I'm not sure why you would think that.

  • And why would you let your dog down here? You have to protect them-they don't have google news alerts. Idiots.

  • Pretty dumb to be getting that close. You don't know how big that wave was going to be, could have been ten times that size. Then you wouldn't be cheering

  • @cgord31 Actually it was pretty obvious how big the wave was, and if you were familiar with the area where this took place you would realize that no one was in any danger.

  • @Ribbet707 - 3 people died in santa cruz who wanted to see the waves hit.

  • @Ribbet707 I don't think it is always so obvious. watch?v=SjcwcjQA_OQ It takes 10 minutes for the peak of the wave to arrive. I'm sure this guy as just as confident.

  • @Ribbet707 which is an absolutely ignorant thing to say. You're located in a Tsunami Hazard Zone, with a tsunami hitting.. you're in 'obvious' danger. This is just like the story of the photogragher believing he was "safe" and ended up being dragged out. Don't plague mankind with your stupidity, or risk any lives trying to save your dumbass next time if anything should happen.

  • Good video but damn, could you have been any less careful? That shit could have pulled you right the fuck down and drowned you easier than a cat playing pinball.

  • @anonymous0s0egion Actually no, it was pretty safe there.

  • @Ribbet707: The first wave didn't look too dangerous where you were standing, but that second wave (at about 1:50) passed with a lot of force right where you were standing about 2 1/2 seconds after you moved. If you would have slipped it could have easily dragged you under. Lots of people have been killed because they underestimated the force of water. It is a lot stronger than people think. 6 inches of flooding water will knock a person over and water 2 feet deep will take a car.

  • @anonymous0s0egion Dont worry bro, its called natural selection

  • @anonymous0s0egion I have 12 cats, and they all play pinball! What are u talkin about??

  • @zombieman82091

    And now I'm in love.

  • "Did you hear about the tsunami?"

"Yeah, let's get the whole family together and go down to the beach for a nice picnic!"

    "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!"

  • looks like ca is about to fall into the ocean

  • People just don't listen when there told NOT to go near the water cause of a tsunami do they?

  • for the hippie talking about africa, NO ONE CARES ABOUT AFRICA, u know why , its countries, especially somalia which is considered a failed country, are just like the middle east. we tried once to help and it failed. so yes we would rather help a country that can be saved than one HUGE continent that can't be saved.

  • @ AFfirefighter19

This will not be the only time in their life to see a tsunami....

  • Did you find anything made in japan? ;-)

I'm not an asshole and actually I'm pissed..

    WHY??

Because in Africa every 5 second a little kid is dead after years and months of starvation and the potential nations what are they doing??

Wait for a tsunami in Japan and run for help...

Let me understand.. People in Africa are not humans??

Ohh.. I see... Japan is another power nation Africa is poor..

    Ok, I gotta...

  • @dioinfamebastardo

We don't give them much support because they wind up becoming dependent on foreign intervention as opposed to developing their countries and making their situation better. There's a lot African nations can do to fix their problems without the need for help from the developed world. Japan on the other hand had no control over what happened, this was a natural disaster not a man made one.

  • these guys are legends !

  • Ok people need to back off on calling these guys assholes. They were living in the moment, you realize that people in the mid-west go chasing after storm that produce tornadoes and that kill people but no1 calls them assholes. Alot of people went and watch the Tsunami come in because it may be the only time in their lifetime that it could happen. People want to see the power of mother nature first hand because its something no1 will ever be able to control. It makes you feel alive to see it.

  • You guys are cheering and are happy. While in Japan thousands are dead and homeless. you guys are ass wholes

  • @Sims3101lover The cheers are for the wave, not about what happened in Japan.

  • @Sims3101lover so i shouldnt cheer is my favorite baseball team wins because people in africa are starving?

  • @Sims3101lover don't be adouche for enjoying life. People die ever day, get over it you little titty baby, the only one wrong here is you for trying to ruin someone else's day with your sense of false righteousness, you will die 1 day too, are people going to just stop enjoyying life for you? no, fuck you for thinking we should.

  • @slimmwillis I don't care said pier I'm from France

  • wenn die wüssten was in Japan gerade los war, dann würden sie nicht so jubeln bei so einem Ereignis.

  • he sounds like peter griffin.

  • So because people died everybody else is just supposed to sit home and mourn? You people are unbelievable, they had the chance to witness firsthand something incredible they'd never see again and they took it.

  • It is sad to see how ignorant people can be in the face of the power of nature.

  • how can you like something that killed thousands of people?!

  • Darwin Fail!

  • There is A Double Rainbow... oh my god... YEAHHHHHHHH... triple Rainbow... oh my god.......

  • i wanna see the guy in the hat's video

  • Tsunami is not something to cheer for.

    imagine that 500 times larger!

    try cheering that

but thank you for the brave footage, it's pretty wild.

  • aweome bro... i admire your adventure !

  • And why do you think that because somebody got to witness a small part of the awesomeness of nature (from a safe vantage point (would you think a helocopter tour of Kilahua in Hawaii to be stupid?Tthe same level of danger...) be wrong or disrespectful to those who are suffering in Japan? WE do care and pray and donate money to their recovery. Put your money where your mouth is and donate to humanitarian aid organizations and quit criticizing something you don't know all the facts for!

  • to all of you guys dissing this: He was up a cliff overlooking the cove. He was in no danger. Nor was anyone else. The guys who got washed out to sea (2 swam to shore, one was pulled out by the Coast Gaurd (the 'real heroes here' GO BRIAN!) and the other lost...those 4 were STANDING ON THE BEACH, not high up the cliffs! We are not douches, we are not all rednecks anymore than anywhere else. Don't knock what people post unless you know all the facts.

  • He was perfectly safe. I live there. He was on a bluff a many feet above the cove he was filming. The waves were running at about 8 ft against huge boulders placed there to prevent undercut. You'd have to know the area to judge whether or not he was in any danger. It was also our low tide at the time so the tsunami in that spot had little or no danger, just interesting to watch and much heavier surf. The ones taken at near sea level locations are much more dangerous and interesting

  • 8.9 on the stupidity scale!

  • I recognize that voice!

  • 0:58 YEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • that was cool

  • i dont think its a Japanese Tsunami but rather than the Earth's Tsunami

  • @skatobetho this isn't special... in the aftermath of the 2004 Tsunami lots and lots of damage was done to thousands of Islands in the Indonesian/Indian sea

  • @ekmad u misunderstood my statement

  • I've seen bigger tsunamis in my bathtub

  • Incredible that something that happened on one side of the world could have an effect like that on the other. Crazy.

  • (continued #3)

we are all humans that react to things in varied and different ways.

I'm sure we could find some real gems among your countries.

So, although I think it seems stupid that these people are cheering just as you all do, I do not know the whole person or how they feel about the devastation in Japan.

What I do know is that I did marvel at these videos because of how powerful Mother Nature is and I am very saddened for all these people that have been affected by this horrifying disast

  • (continued)

such a ripple thousands of miles away reminds us how powerful Mother Nature is.

I think I would have marveled had I been standing right there. That doesn't make me a stupid American or any less compassionate on the people who are really suffering in the aftermath of one of the most devastating events in history!!!!

Before you go judging how dumb all of us Americans are, why don't you tell us about how perfect you are all the time. We are all humans that react to things in varied a

  • Ok, so even though I understand what you are saying about hootin' and hollering at these waves that came into the Mad River here in my town and how stupid that may seem when these VERY dissipated waves created a REAL and DEVASTATING disaster in Japan,

I also find these blanket statements and implications about how dumb Americans are just plain ignorant!

I do not know the people that are hollering in excitement! But it was a marvel to see Mother Nature at work. To know that such an event made

  • @MegaCrooz

don´t be angry, they are just us americans, what can you expect....

what´s very bad too is the radioactive contamination, they will not be able to live in this area for the next maybe 50 years..

How would this Californian guy like this in his country???

  • well take that america for the 2 nukes! /sarc

  • I literally thought someone was going to start chanting USA USA USA

  • Whenever I hear that distinctly American roar "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!".....I understand why the word 'Douche' originated in America...

Because it applies to all of them.

  • :58 EEEYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAHHHH!!!

  • "Wooooo! YEAH! Surf's up baby!" - Yeah, go America... you rule.

  • Double waves!!! Wwooooaahhh

  • Plain dumb.

  • Bring your children, sure.

  • Typical americans *sigh*.

  • so crazy to think how the waves came all the way from japan, nature is crazy

  • umm why are there little kids at the scene?!

  • @KenMixtape Yeah, that current that dissipated right after it hit the shore in front of him was REALLY dangerous.

  • lol at downvotes, sour asses

  • Double tsunami all the way. yeaAAHHHHHHH!! OOo (face) my god!

  • Pretty amazing - thanks for posting.

  • YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • a tsunami! lets stand as close as possible!

  • @neocon70 not sure if serious.

  • These people don't seem very smart. Actually, they're like the typical NorCal douchebag that goes apeshit over everything and like to yell and scream obnoxiously.

Good thing they're standing really close to the bank so that they'll wash away and die. Thank god for nature.

  • @ghettoball its typical around the globe, not just NorCal

  • @ghettoball Thank nature for nature*

  • Comment removed

  • A person doing this exact same thing was swept away and the authorities were helpless to find him, he was pronounced lost and dead.

  • fucking crazy shit

  • That's amazing.

  • Every one is a freakin photographer nowadays. Yall ever notice that?

  • that is just not smart guys and its doing that kind of foolishness that caused that 25 yo guy to lose his life today

  • Where was that filmed?

  • @jahrodstafari - mckinleyville california
