ive put about 1000 rounds into mine also. no jams, no malfunctions. just field strip after every shooting and oil it down. works like a charm. and can pull off consecutive shoots on target easy. best choice of first handgun ive had
I 100% agree with your results. I didn't have a malfunction through well over 2000 rounds. I found early on, in the first 100 or so, when teaching my sister to shoot that it was susceptible to limp wristing, but its since broken in nicely. It is definitely the best pistol I've ever owned, though I would worry about carrying it cocked and locked, even in a supertuck
i was thinking about getting this gun, im not sure if it was the FNP-9 or the FNX-9 if the matte black version has a stainless slide according to FN's website it does.
@unimatrix82 That CZ is a good pistol as well. I personally would go with the FNX over it but I'm not emotionally drawn to either one really. Consider the amount of accessories available and the cost of additional magazines and such. (FNX comes with 3 mags) When I bought the FNX I was limited with holsters, sights & stuff. If you like CZ consider the SP01 Phantom. I may pick one up tomorrow. Good luck in finding what you want.
I bought a FNX 40 about a year ago, and have put just under 2,500 rounds through it. Never had a single malfunction yet. I shot 1,000 rounds of Magtech rounds, and the rest have all been federal bulk.
I've noticed some minor wear on the gun, maybe if I get to it I'll make a video response with my gun and post it. Most annoying part is that the sight dots can pop out. They are painted on, and I repainted them already. Recently the red safety dots popped out and I haven't replaced them yet.
I wouldnt think one would need to carry a DA/SA pistol "cocked and locked". The only reason you would carry you 1911 C&L is if it was a SA only pistol for obvious reasons.
Just my $0.02; unless it's in a holster, DA for the first pull and safety off (God forbid you're ever in that situation!). The mind tends to flip out, in crisis mode. The last thing you want to be doing is fumbling around with controls.
I've been reading about the FNP's. Some ppl report the extractor sending casings back into their faces, hair, etc. Your take with the FNX? Ever had that happen? Thinking about giving my Sig a new brother:)
I have 2 FN's, a 45T, and the 5.7, both fine guns. I am thinking of their 9mm and looking at both the X and P. The P looks to be more compact but the X is fully ambidextrous. So is the P smaller then the X ?????
@buzzsah The FNP and the FNX are roughly the same size w/ the FNX having slightly more aggressive edges and grips. I prefer the FNX9 hands down over the FNP9
I agree about the safety - it isn't as positive as a 1911 safety. I prefer to carry mine safety off and with the hammer half cocked. The long DA trigger pull is plenty of safety for carrying in a good holster.
ive always been more of a fan of striker fire pistols. but i just got back from the local gun shop and i checked out this gun and wow it does feel great. im pretty sure im gunna buy it. great review by the way
i dont understand why you would want to carry locked and cocked drop the hammer disengage the safety and then you wont have to worry about safety if you need to use it and its still safe
@krispy022 A lot of people like SAO and are used to Kimbers and the like. I could care less either way. For the most part I don't like to use safeties so hammer down and SA/DA is just fine with me.
@krispy022 I totally agree.. with a 1911 there really is no other choice, here why not use a hammer down chambered round and it will be just as fast into action as cocked and locked, and for me the hammer down is faster because you just pull the trigger. In flight or fight, heavy trigger is faster than small detailed movements and remembering to swipe the safety off. Good video, thanks for posting. I have the same gun with SS slide.
Just joined the forums and enjow ur videos. I purchased an fnx-9 Sunday and already have 400 rnds thru it. Doing the 2k round test. I kinda wish I purchased the fnp-9 tho cuz this safety is too low for my shooting grip. Stabs my thumb. And its a scaled down fnp45 which is not good idea cuz the safety should be positioned higher.
@wolvee123 I'm not saying this design itself failed. Having a safety on your outside strong side is prone to disengaging the safety unintentionally. Having a single sided configurable safety is a much better design.
@losunimo88 They don't make an FNX45, Only the FNP45. The FNP45 is identical in nearly every way except obviously the pistol width, caliber and only the "Tactical" model gives you the option for carrying cocked and locked.
How does the polymer feel? no gun store around my house have any. Does it feel solid like an m&p or does it feel thin. Can you compare it to the weight of an m&p? great review.
@chantlejoe22 The FNX weighs 21 oz and the M&P9 weighs about 26oz. The lower polymer of the MP weighs more than FNX and the Glock 17 which are both about the same. It feels very nice in hand and the polymer is not cheap feeling at all. Thanks for watching.
@brotherskeepers111 Yeah, I really dig it. I wish the slide was a little more Glock like with the finish but that's just aesthetics. Thanks for watching. Love your channel.
I would carry it just in double action.

I have the FNP45 Tac., and the biggest point of wear that bugs me the most is an indentation above the firing pin from the hammer fall.

Ambidextrous safties are fail. You should be able to take it out and flip it around instead. Ambi safties always disengage from bumps.
