Naruto Shippuden on Disney XD - Episodes 1-4 review

the disney edits are very bipolar now..

recent episodes i mean, blood = DNA, Hidan still stabs himself, Major characters are actually killed off, minor characters you can hear moaning. some blood can be seen awkwardly. I dont have a problem wit Naruto on Disney. but the only problem i do have is that they have to promote the show alot more.

Wow, thats a really detailed analysis. I'm not really surprised about all the editing though, I mean its Disney so they're not going to like that stuff but it still ruins the series.

Thank GOD! But, yeah, 666 isn't necessarily a bad thing. The number itself is pretty harmless, but we won't know how 666 will come to represent Satan in the future in any way shape or form. People getting all bent outta shape over three little identical numbers is also getting on my nerves as well.

i completely agree with you there..and on the main point

overall i was dissapointed with the dub not quite as bad as the one piece dub but the whole edit with sasuke's sword is EXTREMELY troublesome for me i mean we have the whole sasori sakura fight or hidan and asuma fight to worry about as well...no blood annoys me but is acceptable as is the editing of the cuss words but people die and they need to show that editing it will make the series MUCH less emotional and "real"

You see,theproblem is that it's a show that was originally meant for teenagers and young adults. There was quite a lot of blood in Shippuden, and sometimes the blood and violence reached R-movie levels (see Shippuden Movie 1). The series is being dumbed down to kid-friendly, light-PG and G-rated levels, and with all of this blood being removed at the start, it'll become a very serious problem with how graphic it gets later on, hence our complaints.

The action becomes a main part of the plot, and with so much blood later, it's gonna take quite a toll on the action, and in effect, the plotline. So, in a certain sense, we DO have to see the blood.

Wow, you say that it wasn't as bad as expected? It sounds to me that it was EXACTLY as expected. It's been babied down to the point where the story doesn't make sense at times, with violent scenes and words removed or replaced. I don't see what Naruto is even doing on Disney XD anyway, seeing as it's so full of violence, as you pointed out. That show is far more trouble than it's worth for them to be poorly airing like that.

Thankfully there's the DVDs as that'd save me some money over getting a subscription to Disney XD. Well hell, I gave them the benefit of the doubt but I suppose it was unavoidable. Liam O'Brien kind of hinted the Disney XD version would be a lost cause simply by commenting the DVDs would still be uncut. Then again these are the same guys that cut off episodes of Gargoyles and the Fireball Frank episode of Bonkers.

they did i just now watched it. i am upset about the Gaara vs Deidara cuts and the blood but overall pretty good not horrible and i cursed a lot when it wasn't on. No One Piece!

True, it's not any 4Kids One Piece, that's for sure. In fact, this more reminds me of the edited FUNimation One Piece.

But, still, you also have to put into factor that One Piece has never gotten an uncut TV airing while Naruto was shown nearly-uncut on Cartoon Network. With stuff like this, I personally can't take the Shippuden edits lightly... But again, this mightnot be how the rest of the show will go, so maybe we'll see more blood and such later on down the road...
