  • I think your videos on this problem are really true and very helpful! I did not realize that I had a problem with this until a few months ago, and I am glad that you have found strength to talk about it, it has made me feel inspired. I notice that I pull in the car too and while I am thinking deeply about things (even if they are not that important or serious). So I know where you are coming from. I also know how hard it is to fight the urge. Hand in there, and I will too, keep posting too!

  • εισαι καυλααα

  • how did you stop? i need help with my hair and my eyelashes

  • You're hot enough where it's not weird. Even if you were bald you'd still be hot.

  • @panosv

Such a stupid, immature and ignorant comment.

  • @Libervurto I wasn't trying to be rude, she's pretty!

  • @panosv

okay you could have said it in a better way lol

  • your goal has been accomplished.

  • that is so very sad no advice was giving on how she truly stopped i would think person who has overcome trichotillomania would have better advice then fliping her hair back & saying this is what keeps me going it seem fake to me any one who has trich know you have to fine ways to stop iam glad that you felt embarrassed wanted the beauty of hair you should be proud of your self but the video wasnt helpful

  • My job isn't to be someones therapist. My goal in posting these videos is that some one will not feel so alone and use these videos to find the strength to stop pulling.

I assure you, my personality and my emotions are not fake.

  • I think it's possible because I did the same thing. I got to the point where I lost all of my eyelashes and most of my eyebrows, and there were some small bald spots throughout my hair. My hair is now really long and thick, and I have long eyelashes and full eyebrows. I can't even pinpoint when it stopped exactly, it just kind of happened. I still WANT to do it but I don't because I know how embarrassing it was to not have eyelashes or eyebrows when I was 12.

  • what kind of therapy do u do? i have had trich for 16 yrs.........

  • your face

  • i have been pullig since i was 15 and now im 23 and my hair just stopped growing... any advice on that?

it just wont grow i dont pull out as much as i used to anymore but a few hairs a day is fine i think fo r arecovering person and now my bald spots just dont grow back..any medicine for it?

  • i think your hair has reached a stage where it simply is not going to grow back. after 8 years of pulling your hair it does just give up,its like waxing your leg hair and it gets thinner and thinner till it eventually gives up all together. i had trich for four years till i stopped alltogether, and my doctor told me this was likely to happen if i didnt. my advice now is to really try to not pull out any hair, treat it with special serums and conditoners, and it will probably try again! ;D

  • Oh my goodness you almost made me cry!! Very touching. (I have trichotillomania too). Thank you

  • i would totally make sweet sweet love to her. id even consider spending the rest of my life with her

  • you're beautiful person, for sharing such a problem. well that and you're also just beautiful =P

if i grow my facial hair out at all, it gets to a certain length and i just can't stop twirling it around, i don't pull it out but i pull on it, it's so obessive and i can't control it in front of other people. my dad had the same problem and my mom yelled at him a lot over it.

i'd love to know specifically what kind of therapy is used to combat this problem.

  • I´m 23 years and I pull my hair since I was 9 years old... I´m a mother now and my daughter is 4 years ... she chatches me sometimes and I feel so ashaimed ... I cant go out but sometimes i have to ... I cant meet my friends anymore and I offed my phone because i didnt tell them about it ...

  • Thank you for placing this videos, it's really been helpfull to some of use who have hairplucking issues

  • i have it to when im talking to someone they always look up at my head which makes me mad im only 11 yrs old i quit wheni was 9 for 2 yrs and strted again 3 months ago.

  • hey, i have trich and im 13. thank you for these videos. question, how long does it take for a bald spot to get some hair back on it? thank you. please respond

  • it all depends on how much you pull in that spot. (if you pull out the little ones it will take a very long time.) to get little prickles, probably a week, to get to about half an inch---an inch id say about a month to a month and a half. here are some really good tips to stop: BANDAIDS. put them on your fingers, make sure its the slick kind. you wont be able to pull at all with them on, and you can just tell people when they ask about them that you have a bad habit of biting your nails.

  • Wow...you are very beautiful!!!

  • thank you A LOT for this video! i've been living with this problem since i was 12 or something like that (now i'm 21 and i still have it) and i haven't met someone who has it until now... you really make me feel better about myself and it was like watching myself on a mirror... seriously you had the best idea for uploading this! but i have a question... does it ever stops? i went to therapy but things are still the same... did you try something in particular?

  • I HAVE IT TOO!awsome!

  • but not pulling!

  • do you have it if you touch your hair all the time?

  • i have one too.

  • it gets me soooo mad, i mean, i USED to pluck at it... which makes it fragile.. and i twist at it now.. which causes this huge bald spot on my head...): everyone thinks im a freakkk

  • I haven't been officially diagnosed with trich but i KNOW i have it. I just know. I have a few bald spots on my head. and when i start to realize that i'm pulling i pull in another area, and also i bit my nails AND i pick my skin. so i have like the whole nine yards. but this really jdkfas. this makes me so happy(:

  • i have had trichotillomania for 3 years now. i've been in and out of the hospital and treatment places for various reasons and i have been labeled as the crazy girl who pulls out her hair in my school. don't get me wrong, i have a lot of friends, but no one really knows about it. i deny it to everyone and i'm not sure i can ever become public about it. i'm about to start hypnosis. i really hope it works. i went 42 days during the summer, and i have relapsed. every day my hair is thinner.

  • i have Trichotillomania and i really appreciate your video :) i'm 15 and i've had it since i was like 8... thank you for your video!!

  • oh and if you ever get the message below me facebook me nathan metzler from des moines iowa

  • i think im in love with you. how awesome it would be for me a guy that has been pulling for 13 years to meet a girl as beautiful as u that understands what i have gone through. im 21 now and started in 3rd grade just eyelashes it sucked in highschool people would call me frog and i hate the word eyelash with a passion! i would love to meet someone sometime that has trich especially a girl!!

  • Can I ask you, what do you think about bald guys?

  • You are such a beautiful girl. I've suffered with Trich for better than 30 years and I am now pull-free from my head now for almost 4 years. I'm still not completely pull-free in other areas, but I now have hair. Unfortunately, I do have some thin spots where the hair will never grow back now.

    Good luck!!

  • u are an amazing person.....i also have trichotillomania. I have had it since the second grade. I have been made fun off throught the years but your messagage in your video really is going to help me. I always think that i am ugly and tht no guy will ever like me. I don't even notice it when i reach my hand on my hair. But now you have given me more hope then i have ever had. Thank you so much!! You are really one of a kind.

  • Dang, ive been pulling my hair since I was like 3, im 21 now. I decided to google it and come to find out it has a name and other people have it. Glad to know im not the only one. thx for the vid

  • thank you. Watching this video has given me such great hope. I'm 18 and I've been truggling for four years now. I'm still getting help and trying to stop pulling. Sometimes i don't feel i'll ever get better, but seeing you proves that ppl can get better...and one day maybe i can get better too.

  • You are beautiful and I congratulate you on your MAJOR accomplishment. You are so lucky you were able to get a grip on this and that your hair was not so severely damaged that it would not grow back normal. Congratulations on being so beautiful and able to share this with everyone.

  • It's great to no im not the only one with this problem. My hair is slowly growing back but it's short all round the top, and as i've only recently started to stop, it's a slow process. I would really appreciate any tips on stopping anybody could give me.

Thank you for doing these vids. (':

  • You go girl - I have a mixture of long and short hair, and everyone always asks about it. I think positively, because weird hair is better than none at all.

  • te daba yo a ti tricolomania de esa pero entre las patas

  • You are a lovely girl. Good job at remaining pull free. I almost made it a whole week this week of remaining pull free. I had a little episode today but I am back on track.

  • your hair is beautiful and you are too. thankyou for this.

  • Thank you for sharing your recovery journey. It helps to see how trich is not something that crazy people get. All the best as you continue your progress. xoxo

  • i have had trich since i was in the 5th grade and now im 23 still doing it. i have seen your videos and now i not only feel sooooo much better knowing im not the only person and also it has made my trich decrease by a landslide! thanks so much for being honest and talking about this! hope your trich is getting better if not conquered yet!

  • Sigh.

That video is helpful. It sucks having it

  • Thank you so much for this video...I am 27 years old and I have this and it's constant struggle everyday for the last 7 years...it's good to know there is hope!

  • yep i do it all the time...

  • Thank you for sharing your story. I wish you the best. I am 40 and have been pulling since I was 17. I wish to stop but whenever I am stressed I start again. Never thought anyone else had this problem. I felt very alone. It is comforting to know that I'm not alone in this.

  • I am 45, doing since I was 12. I believ startd when I was abused as a child. NOW, is it a habit? Or a compusion? And the only reason I wanted to stop(mostly) is to not be bald later.

    It's a tough problm to have : (

  • por favor que alguien me ayude,mi hija esta padesiendo esta enfermedad no se que hacer.ayudenme por favor.

  • lo siento, puede contactarse conmigo

  • I'm glad I'm not alone. I pull out my eye lashes. I wish you lived in my area, not to sound like a stalker or anything.

  • i'm not so expressive with my trico problems, I just got some ideas from this web site youtube.. My parents got a divorce and i pulled since i was NINE! my counselor never worked with people like me before because I don't think my problem is stress. it's desire to be hurt or desire to be depressed or stressed...idk its complicated but I'm glad there's people like you ")

  • i suffer too but no one of my familly believes that it is serious. when i talk about this they mock me and say that this is nonsense. i wish dad was alive. i need help and encouragement. i used to pull my hair since i was 16 and now i am nearly 22. very sad.....................

  • me too write back

    whoever suffers from this

    PLEASE WRITE TO ME

I HAVE TRIED KILLING MYSELF BEFORE OVER THIS

    please!!

  • I suffer with trich also.I hate it.I'm 24 and have been doing this since I was 6! The worst for me is the hair on my head. It was awful when I was younger-I was the freak and tormented in school. THen it grew in really well. But the last few years it's gotten bad again- and I'm so mad but I keep trying.I think it was such a great to put up these mini info feeds. I really admire and thing you're very brave.

  • Your pretty hot. I wish you all the best luck but I only watched it cuz your great looking! Make more videos, doesn't matter about what, just make 'em : D

  • i respect you so much for what you've done. i also suffer from trichotillomania and it sucks. no amount of therapy or medication has helped and i feel like it controls my life. you have made me believe that i can get better. thank you so much. hopefully one day i can thank you again when i have a full head of hair. until then, you've given me hope. thank you a million times.

  • I know I know I know! It's the state of mind you are in, where you feel like "what's the point, I'm enjoying this" - it's like you're kind of acheiving something and every hair you pull you're going into it deeper and deeper, which makes it more difficult to get out.

You're gorgeous hun, don't ever go back - I bet you've almost lost the habit now anyway which is excellent! ;)

  • I'm really glad to hear you are overcoming this. Your hair and you look beautiful.

  • your pretty, your hair looks really good now

im14 im a girl&im going through the same thing right now and its nice to know im not the only one

  • you're cute

  • Your hair looks really good!

  • I've got ttm too. I've finally -finally- grown my eyebrows back.

    therapy served me well.

  • i suffer from trich but i pull from everywhere BUT my eye lashes and eyebrows. honestly i get totally disgusted when i think about pulling my eyebrows or eyelashes but for some reason that same feeling dosnt affect the reason why i pull from my head or from my body.

  • uhm okay? to the person below me, apparently you dont have it , bc it sure as hell isnt easy to stop at all. you have NO clue how many times i have told my self"youve got to stop" bc i have things i need to wear my hair down for and stuff, its not easy when u relize it, i know how bad the condition is getting and no matter what i do i just cant stop,so u dont know what your talking about thanks.

  • Yes it is hard to stop,For me i pluck out my eyelashes..But i have a mum who calls me a retard for it then refuses to take me to thee\ docter to get treatment for it

  • btw too everyone who have stopped pulling your hair but dont seem like its growing it is. I stopped for about 4 months and all my spots were gone but the hair is thing like baby hair you have to run it and rough it up so it thickens. what i noticed is it will take around 1 year to get it back to normal thickness. Dont use conditioners, i use just soap cuase it keeps my hair thicker.

  • really cute, your hair is really nice and you seem really outgoing..well done.

  • wow! you have such beautiful hair. well done and good luck!

  • I do it out of boredom, your cute, where do you live?

  • i cant go an hour without pulling. i dont have my wig on right now.. & i have 2 pairs of tweezers right here beside me. i just pulled out 2 hairs. how are you stopping yourself, though? will you make a video about it? please? what are you doing to stop? i need a guide, i need something, im in the same position as xdyingflowerx. please... you're so brave. i look up to you so much. and btw, people called me an outcast, gothic, & freak in middle school too... but your beautiful.

  • i've never realized I had this disorder. Now that I think about it I've had this for quite some time. Maybe 4 years. I dont know how exactly how I developed this. It makes me feel better to know that I am not alone. thank you so much for the post

  • rofl i developed during my first math tutor boring stressful crap will cause this crap. Its easy to stop once you realize how bad it is.

  • lucky i've had it for 4 years and all four years the top rim have been bad so i've worn my hair up for all this time and my aunt got me 2 wigs that i wore in the middle of last year [8th grade] and as you can imagine word got out and people held it against me and started spreading the rumor that i had cancer so i just wear a reallly high up ponytail and a lot of clips.

  • I love you Molly!!!

  • I'm so proud of you. You're so strong and you're doing such a good job.

  • my trich got so bad that i had to shave my head.

i'm so miserable. i hate having a shaven head. and even with my head shaven the spots where i pulled are growing slowly and i still have bald spots. i'm even crying as i'm writing this. i'm having a really hard time. i'm trying....so hard....and i seem to keep failing. i'll go a week or two without pulling and then i'll pull for a couple hours without realizing and do so much damage...*sigh*

  • Dont worry missy =) Put on some pretty bandanas for now, you will be fine I promise. Look up HABIT REVERSAL TRAINING, I promise this will help you. Promise.

  • sometimes i wonder if i'll ever be beautiful again. i'll look it up. thanks for the support.

  • Don't forget that you are always beautiful. Back then I used to cry when I looked at the pictures I took when I couldn't control my trich. No eyebrows, no eyelashes, scarred up legs, bald spot on the crown.. Now they are more memorial than anything else, and I feel that I've accomplished something great. Chin Up Girl! The support is here for you!

  • im am a person with this too i pull my eyelashes and eyebrows and the hair on the top of my head and its so hard to stop i dont know what to do can someone please help me

  • We can all help each other =) Have a buddy you trust like your best friend or sister and tell them you have trich. This is really hard to do but it will help you. Tell them if they see you pulling, have them tell you to stop! Most gals like us don't know when we pull =) I'll post up more =)

  • you just got to discipline yourself, and say i want to have nice hair and be pretty. when i really decided to quit was when i had a bald spot underneath my hair and that really made me not do it as much , and if i would and i would see any thinning i would quit and put a bandanna on my head anytime i thought i might pull, it really works
