Billy and the band were close friends with them back in the 80's and they showed up unexpectedly at the studio while they were recording this song and the 'Troopers got a little antsy and started shooting their blaster rifles out the window at cars in the parking lot and Billy said "hey that would sound great in this song". the rest as they say is history....
