I made the same experience with a little bird years ago I found on the side of a street. It survived and a few days later it flew around in my flat. That was a very nice experience :)
Did you try to find a wildlife rehaber? Do they have them in your area?

Yes, the song is very moving. Beck wrote it after 10 years relationship his girlfriend broke up with him.
