@livnilovesyou Nope. It's the other way around. Blu released this song back in 2010 under this name and then he changed it to "DOINNOTHIN" when No York dropped.

it's dope that Blu is gettin some beats from Fly Lo. The genre needs to be pushed forward. I love late 80's and early 90's hip hop but we're not gonna get another low end theory or Step In The Arena or Illmatic or 36 Chambers etc. Take your influence from them but do your own thing. Everytime I see a rock the bells lineup it's them talking about how they'll be performing from some 10-20 year old album. We need to stop living in the shadow of hip hops past and push the envelope with new things
its called preservation, but I agree 10000%. Those CLASSIC albums wont ever get celebrated properly if "we" dont celebrate it though!
Were talking about dream line ups that wouldnt even have been possible at one point and time, line ups that USED TO sell out ARENAS, plus is educational for the new artist pushing the genre forward...HOP HOP wins in the end and thats all that matters...but I agree totally...good post...
This is fire the beat/lyrics crazy...if U-Gods only on the hook im kinda sad, its like hearing he got nas on a track and nas only does a hook no verse -____- watever still dope though
not to mention his own productions.. both instrumentals and the ones he raps over... all very dope.. he's relatively young and still awaiting the release of his major label debut and has already amassed such a significant catalog of work.. artists like blu are definitely throwbacks to the times when jazz, rock, soul musicians would collaborate, do projects, experiment with sounds, etc for the sake of the music and for the fun of it.. not because of some image factory or marketing scheme.
no if ands or butts about this.. blu is dope. fly lo is dope. blu got soooo many styles.. and works so well with so many different producers and emcees... his shit with each is distinctive unto itself.. johnson and jonson (w/mainframe), c.r.a.c.knuckles (w/ta'raach), how i got over (w/the roots), his shit with fly lo, grouch and eligh, j*davey, all them new new west fools, even his newer shit with exile is diff than his old shit with exile.. the kid's got RANGE.
Flylo's sound is dope. Glad Blu got on this, listen to the claps! It's got that vibe. If anyone hasn't listened to flylo much, i suggest you check out Pet Monster Shotglass. Some of the beats i work on currently have some lo influence
i like this side of blu too... it stands out... "feet planted eyes slanted" dopenesss... Flying Lotus is dope. Check my channel for DOPE HIP HOP music, you wont be disappointed. SUBSCRIBE if u like :)
@halomizer i feel you.. used to think i needed a smak to the head to hear what everyone else heard in fly lo... but open ur mind and he will grow on you
i guess i'll be the first to say that this track is straight heat. flying lotus's weird/dope style with blu's soul amazin' lyrics and u-gods... (where is u-god in this track? whatever) = banana bread
... this tracks pounds and slightly taps the b boys spine to uprock

Blu so ill.
Real shit, niggas like him, Hassaan Mackey, Skyzoo, Mos Def, Moses Rockwell and Black Thought keeping hip hop alive.
Soul samples, word play and subject matter all day FUCK them watered down commercial niggas.
Search Eddie Pesos "Greatness" Puerto Rock kid from PA droppin' ill joints on the mic.
