Because it's in Leviticus. A covenant is a contract, and any time you have a contract wherein a new one counters something in the old one, the newest provision is the rule. That's where it says part of the old testament doesn't apply, where the new testament overrules it on a given point.

@Atharkas Again, this is you trying too hard to be contradictory. Put your bias to the side for a second and go look it up, particularly despensationalism and hyperdispensationalism. At the end of the day, no matter HOW a Christian looks at it, the result is the same: Homosexuality is a sin, an unnatural lust, and every definition of marriage in the bible, even when Jesus refers to the then Jewish laws, is NEVER allowed to be interpreted as anything but hetero.

@Atharkas By the way, there is no such book of the Bible called Matthews. It's a common last name today, so I get why you made the freudian slip, but it's Matthew. Still, the Bible is clear as to the definition of marriage because it never refers to marriage as anything other than male/female.

Well I was just trying to say the 10 commandments could be a lot better. And NO jesus HIMSELF said that not a single word of the old covenant shall pass until the earth is gone (or something like that). That said there's no evidence for any of it anyway.

The thing about the New Covenant is that it depends on ones own interpretation of "I did not come to destroy but to fulfill" Mat 5:17
Many take that to mean both things, that Jesus ended the old laws, and also that he enforces them, and they still apply. Like so much in the Bible it contradicts itself and is confusing and vague to the point of meaningless. And at what point did Jesus say Anything about homosexual marriage.

That is not a contradiction. Moreover, he's forever berating his followers for not reading their scriptures, meaning they matter in God's Kingdom. And as for Gay Marriage in the bible, y'all act like you don't have google, and I'm supposed to buy it. C'mon, man...

That'll depend on which Christian you ask. Many see that line as clearly and unequivocally Ending the old Laws of Moses (that's why it's call the New Covenant, and the New Testament), and why you don't have to sacrifice a goat to prove your faith.

Now, if Christians can't decide and agree what just one line in the Bible really means, and it can be interpreted to have Both meanings (mutually exclusive mind you), then it is Meaningless.
