The series was just another story (that is how I saw it) ..I love the books story line much better of course I am sure Goodkind did as well, that is just one place he doesnt call all the shots. Stand alone new story it was Ok

I really have to read this book. From what I can gather Alex is being hunted because he's a Rahl but why did "it" come for his mom? She wouldn't be a Rahl. I really do have to read this book. My little comment here probably sounds very stupid to someone who has read the book. Absolutly love Sword of Truth. Best books ever!!!! Can't wait for next one I'm so excited!
The connections with this book and the SoT series are stunning and extremely clever. You really can't appreciate the little things about Law of Nines unless you've read SoT, although it's still a good story. :) Read SoT before you read Law of Nines...you'll like it more!
is it really? WFR but in mordern times?? That book was FRICKIN AWESOME!! so i will obviously read this one too ;) Go Terry! though i have to agree.
you wrote the most amazing series ever! i cry most of the time reading about Richard and Kahlan! lol. god i love those two! lol. And Legend of the seeker is the best ever tv series!!!! do you also think Bridget Regan was picked PERFECTLY for Kahlan?! and Craig Horner is AWESOME for Richard? xx
@Namaechan Oh, c'mon its awesome! it might have been a little dissapointing at first, but geeze its like taken us on different journeys, when i read Terry's books it's like i am watching it, and now i can put faces to it, and c'mon that Craig Horner is hot stuff :D
@RichardKaylan No. And you've hit a good point: It's the casting that i LOATHE the most. How could they DO that!? To ZEDD!? To KAHLAN!? And to RICHARD!? He looks like a friggen boyband member!
@RichardKaylan Pff. Kahlan; looks exactly like her? Kahlan is nowhere near that bitchy little... Argh! She's not right at all.
Grrr. The worst thing is, i really wanted a good tv-show :( But it wasn't! I don't know anything about Cara's actor, i never managed to get past the first half hour of the first episode, despite several very stubborn tries.
i see where you're coming from but you gotta give it a chance, the books are incredibly amazing but the TV Show is a different type of amazing. okay it's not exactly the same but if it was there would be no point would there? TG makes it all so realistic it'd be like reading it all over again, but less detailed. Cara's actor is amazing, Tabrett is wonderfully talented :)
Before writing off LotS, I would recommend that you watch episodes 8, 9 and 10 of season 1 ("Denna", "Puppeteer" and "Sacrifice"), as they mark the show's arrival to a greater level of maturity and sophistication. It's a good series on its own merits.
@baraxor I'd love to, but it's against my nature to cheat in this particular area >.> Besides, how am i supposed to understand anything, what with the altered story line? Bleh. And anyway, it's the casting that bothers me the most.
Not that i won't try until my eyes pop due to pure annoyance, but you know.
You shouldn't try to match the LotS story with that of the SoT books; some book fans have become LotS fans by imagining that the tv series is set in an alternate universe or is the result of a drastically altered timeline in the Midlands' distant past. Eps 3-7 concentrated on setting-up the characters and their world, so LotS didn't catch fire for me dramatically before "Denna". BTW, the casting of Cara and Verna in s2 is spot-on, IMO.
@Namaechan You're absolutely right. When i watched a few episodes from the first and second season i felt like i was going to cry. They destroyed such a beautiful world and story.
While one could fairly say that LotS is a terrible *literal* adaptation of WFR/the SoT series, it does have its assets:
Production-wise, it's as good as anyting on tv; it has enthusiatic acting, glorious scenery, Emmy-winning music. It presents at least some of Terry Goodkind's positive themes (which is rare in today's mass media): preserverance; resourcefulness; loyalty to deserving friends. As in the books, the love between R & K is the central pillar of LotS.
I read this book already...it's called Wizard's First Rule. It's the exact story just set in modern times. Terry, you are my favorite writer, but you only get one freebie. I'm expecting a lot more out of the man that wrote the greatest series ever. You got what it takes! :)
I'm still reading "blood of the fold".. I'm crazy to finish the saga of sword of truth.. I want to read law of nines.. is a pity that here in Brazil don't go translate the books.
Ok.........I don't understand your conversation
