Wow. Amazing. The educational part is pretty much restricted to the underwater viewing area now, sad to say. Anyhow, yes, Shamu was a female. She was leased and eventually bought by SeaWorld after she and Namu failed to get along. She was meant to be his companion and eventual mate. Corky and Orky were both transferred to San Diego from, I believe, Ohio and although Orky has passed away, we still have Orkid (Orky's kid). Kandy was killed in a territorial clash with Corky. Shamu is a stagename. All orcas have different names(they are males and females) In this case "Shamu"(Corky2) is a female.

I enjoyed the show 2 times this day.one with the school field trip educational show and once with the Family .both shows were great

Wow, this is such special footage. Kandu is the only one of the 3 that past away, but Corky(Shamu) and Baby Shamu, named Orkid are still alive today. Thanks for posting!
