ummm no. kelly never had a record deal before american idol. she had a only recorded demos w/ a companie it was not a record deal at all just for experimental and backing vocals and such. and another thing is that american idol did not make her famous! she did it herself! when she 1st came out most thought she was a new artist and the album that made her big breakaway only happend because she fought w/ clive davis and he gave in and look at what it did for her! no american idol helping there!
