  • You all know the voice-over for the 1998 variants is Humphrey Bogart's last wife and Hollywood legend in her own right, Lauren Bacall. She's still alive.

  • NET is gone forever!

  • Keep PBS alive!

  • This really took be back. I remember most of the "Mr. P" logos. The one that debuted in '71 was used all the way to the mid 80's, and that was the first logo I remember seeing. Felt like a kid again. :-)

  • 0:23, did you mean your too young for that?

  • wow there are 9 variants of the 1998 logo!

  • the one at 1:25-1:29 is the best pbs logo of all time!

  • Pretty Boring Shit

  • At 1:08, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on. LOL!

  • Excellent production!!! The first one that I remember is the 1970 - NET House Color ID which was at the conclusion of Mister Rogers Neighborhood. If you look carefully at the very ending of Mister Rogers Neighborhood when they show the miniature houses and buildings, the large building at the very end has a roof that is shaped identically to the NET House logo ID! This is how I remember that particular ID from 1970. The design of the building's roof was to promote Public Television.

  • When did they change the name to PBS?

  • My fav is the 2002 DVD one. Haha, I'm young, the only ones I actually remember seeing on T.V. are the 1998 ones and the 2002 ones.

And as for 3:00...YAY SONIC ADVENTURE 2!!!

  • @Breezetail10255 Well since I'm only 15, the only ones I seen are the PBS kids versions that are not on this. But I remember that Animaniacs parodied the 3-D glass logo when they were making a parody of Barney. The logo was the faces of Yakko Wakko and Dot, rather than the p-head, and the channel was called SBS (Stupid Brodcasting Service). LOL!

  • @CartoonPrincess15

    Lol nice. :D

  • I remember the 71-84, 84-89, and 98-00 versions the best.

  • 1996 was my favorite, I loved the music in the background :)

  • This montage rocks, but sc4reactor, you were out of order.

But, can you add some a new PBS logo, assuming we see it, in a new montage and put the rest in order?

  • It goes like this: 1962- NET Globe 1968- NET House Black & White Early 1970- NET House Color Late 1970- PBS ID 1 1971- PBS w/ P-Head 1984- PBS Split P-Head ID x3 1989- PBS P-Head Glass and the rare ID 1993- PBS Ellipse 1996- PBS Windowsill 1998- PBS w/ People 2000- PBS DVD ID1 2002- PBS DVD ID2 and PBS People 2 See?
  • You missed out a NET one but apart from that great!

  • I think some of your dates are wrong. The first house one was from 1955 and the second one was from 1966. The colored house one was from 1968. Don't feel to bad. I can't memorize date's myself.

  • at 1:19, what is that? Is there a clear vid or piv of the rare ident? or am i being fooled?

  • Best show to air on any PBS station was the locally produced Uncle Floyd Show on the NJN PBS affiliates in New Jersey. Damn I miss that show.

  • I really like the theme song and indents for the current ones.

  • i thought the 2002 was still current! lol.

  • I really like PBS.

    William.

  • I think the opening logo's first 3 notes may be the closing chime for the 7000 series washington metro cars.

  • 1. The PBS logo at 0:59 is fake. The voiceover is obviously stolen from the ident that starts at 1:12.

    2. What was the point of the Sonic Adventure 2 poster at the end?

  • 1. The rare 1989 voiceover played PBS 1984.

    2. I always ended this video using SA2 poster.
